Activities - 1st class
Food - Ok
Room cleaning - Could be better
Care - Generally ok, but I have had an issue this month.

Both my parents have been in Foxland for almost 3 years. My mum is in a wheelchair and when we first looked round, she was amazed that 'somewhere that meets my needs could look like this'. They have brought their own furniture creating a true home and are both very happy and enjoy the wide range of
entertainment and activities. We all have peace of peace of mind knowing that they are well-cared for by compassionate staff, who feel like part of the family.

Grandad went in to the home for some respite care.
Unfortunately this time was cut short but i am at peace knowing his last few days were spent in foxglove grange where he was looked after exceptionally well! His carer diane was brilliant and he particularly liked Heather who was always smiling and
happy .. he looked forward to her going to chat with him. He loved the food in there (he always loved his food!) and the place is absolutely spotless.
They make Christmas very special for the residents.
Thank you so much to everyone for looking after him in his final days so well.
Also jazz the customer relations manager was helpful and caring throughout and the carer who came out to visit him initially at his home also lovely and friendly and caring.! Thanks so much everyone at foxglove grange because everyone we met seemed amazing! Fiona and family x

Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful.
Jazz understood all our worries and concerns as this was my mothers first stay in a care home but having done 4 weeks as a respite resident she feels she probably would no longer manage at home on her own and so she is now going to become a permanent resident.
This
decision has been taken due to the care and compassion shown to my mother of her own volition and is a reflection of the care she has been given by all the staff.

Foxlands provided a perfect place for my Mum to recover for three weeks after surgery. From the outset, contact with Foxlands was both caring and professional.Mum was made to feel less anxious about moving in and in fact looked forward to it.When she was there, she was gently encouraged to mix with
others at the dining table and hence she very much enjoyed the company of three other ladies. All staff were very caring and when visiting you immediately felt a relaxed and happy environment.I was confident that my Mum received the appropriate care that she needed.Although Mum did not get involved in any activities, they were very varied, and if Mum had stayed longer, I am sure she would have enjoyed getting involved in some of them.

My Father has been a resident at Foxlands since March 2024, when he was no longer able to look after my mother and himself. My mother sadly passed away in July 2024, but the care she received from the staff was exemplary as was the support they gave my father and the family. Since then Dad has had to
find a new norm having being married for 67 years, the staff at Foxlands have played an important role in this, taking time to understand his interests. He has always been a keen gardner and with the home having raised beds and pots has enabled him to take an interest in the gardens and look at what could be planted for all residents to enjoy. Even families of other residents are bringing in plants for him to find places for. He has been named Monty John. In addition to gardening he enjoys any word games or quizzes, at 91 years old he wants to keep his mind active, again the activities team make sure that things are modified for his poor sight. All staff are a credit to the Home

We attended the dementia cafe organised by the staff at Foxland Grange. The event was extremely informative and created a safe place for us to discuss a variety of subjects that related to our experiences with dementia. We learnt so very much from the talk given by Alzheimer's Society and the shared
stories shared by other attendees. Very grateful for this opportunity to attend and participate.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.648)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.648) out of 10 for Foxland Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.648 for Foxland Grange is calculated as follows: ( (347 Excellents x 5) + (117 Goods x 4) + (28 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 492 Ratings = 4.648
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Foxland Grange is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 108 registered maximum number of service users is 21.6, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
