Over all time Charnwood Country Residence has 113 reviews.
Both their care & support has been absolutely fantastic since day one, we couldn't have asked for a better care of them both.
All of the staff are extremely supportive & friendly from the moment you step through the front door- couldn't ask for a better team than Charnwood.
Unfortunately we lost my father a few weeks ago, I can not praise Lindsay, Bev & all the staff enough as they went above and beyond, showing full dignity & respect for my father in his final moments. They have given full care, respect & support for my mother in the last few tough weeks.
Bev, the activity co-ordinator is fantastic with all the residents, whether it's minibus trips out, weekly bingo or arranging daily activities, there is always something going on for the residents which shows on social media posts & communication with family members.
All the residents are treated like one big family, always happy & smiling.
Thank you for your kind words, its lovely to read that our values of belonging, kindness, understanding, trust and joy are embedding into everything we do every day. It was a pleasure getting to know your father for the time he was with us. We will continue to support your Mother and you all through this difficult time.
It's evident that the manager, Lindsay, sets the example that is followed by all the staff. Her communication to us as a family is excellent and her dedication to the residents in her care demonstrable.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased to welcome them both to Charnwood. Our vison is to be more than a care home, to be a family and a community where everyone belongs, is heard and is supported to live with purpose and joy. I will ensure your review is shared with the team.
Mum has only been at Charnwood Country Residence for a very short time. But I only have good reviews for the staff, especially Bev. It is a very pretty, clean care facility. Everybody appears to go above and beyond for the residents. The food, facilities are amazing so far a caring lovely place to look after my mum.
I am so pleased that both my grandparents found this care home. Charnwood is such a lovely place - the staff treat the residents so well and there is a strong feeling of community and family. The staff engage with all residents and keep them feeling safe and well-looked after. They keep the family well informed about any updates.
Charnwood is a very special place. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming which i sdown to how much the staff care for the residents. The staff take the time to get to know the residents, and they do their best to make everyone (residents & visitors) feel at home. I can't recommend Charnwood enough, it's somewhere your loved ones will be truly cared for.
Mum has been a resident at Charnwood for 3 years now, and considers it her home. She feels safe and well cared for, and we, as her family, are extremely grateful for the love and care shown to her. On visiting her, we are always shown a warm welcome and know we can address any issues we may have surrounding mum's health with the care home manager and nursing team. Mum especially enjoys joining in with the activities which are ably provided by Bev, who encourages those who are able to, to join in. A big thank you to all the staff who make Charnwood such a special care home.
Residents are always kept active on a daily basis which again Bev - Activities Coordinator goes above and beyond in making sure each resident is involved and again the care and support she gives is magnificent to each of the individuals. If I had a family member that needed 24 hour care, I wouldn't hesitate in sending them into Charnwood for the rest of their life, knowing they will be looked after, loved and have the security they need. Charnwood Country Residence is certainly the best, all the awards they receive is certainly deserve.
Thank you for your review, your experience and comments about when you visit Charnwood is so heartening and rewarding to read.
Top quality nursing, inffinate kindness a real understanding of Dementia and good liaison with me. Nutrition and safety is first class and I am grateful that my partner is here. Great attention to hygiene. I know I will be immediately contacted if my partner is disturbed and cannot settle, I can talk to him on the phone. I am happy when I see him. I always feel welcome and can discuss any concerns with staff. Great effort is made to entertain and interest residents taking into account their individual interests.
Thank you for your kind words. I am pleased to read that as a relative, you feel warmly welcome at Charnwood and fully involved in your partners care and support. I will share your review with the team as feedback is extremely important to us in ensuring we continue with our vison and values.
I cannot speak highly enough of Charnwood Care Home and the exceptional care my uncle receives there. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that this is a place where residents are genuinely cared for, respected, and treated with dignity.
The staff are outstanding - kind, patient, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and they take the time to really know each resident as an individual, not just a name on a list. My uncle is always spoken to with warmth and compassion, which gives our whole family great reassurance.
The home itself is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, with a calm and positive atmosphere. There is a real sense of community, and it's clear that residents' wellbeing, happiness, and safety are the top priorities. Communication with family members is excellent, and we are always kept informed and listened to.

All of the staff are very caring and kind, showing that they really know the residents well by the way they interact and talk to them. They treat the residents with dignity and respect and as individuals. There is always some activity taking place which even if the resident cannot physically get involved in they always include them as much as possible. They are always supportive of family members and we know we can discuss our family member with them at any time.

They make a lot of effort to decorate the home according to the season and to organise events such as a brilliant fireworks night, complete with hotdogs and a 'quiet' fireworks display for residents and their families.
The staff are good at communicating with family members, and arranging medical input where necessary. They cover serious issues as well as day to day matters with kindness and consideration and try their best to ensure that their charges are as comfortable as possible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Charnwood.

Knowing how well Grandma is looked after has relieved so much stress on my Mum too, Charnwood communicates so well about Grandmas care and have taken the time to chat through family concerns. Mum is a frequent visitor and Charnwood include her in their activities and when the great grandkids visit they include them with juice and biscuits! We all feel at peace knowing at Charnwood Grandma is getting the best care she can.

Whenever I visit the door is always opened by a smiling and welcoming staff member, I am usually offered a cup of tea. Even though my mum is the resident I feel this is our new family.
Thank you for your kind words. Our values at Charnwood is to ensure personality, sense of belonging and inclusion and it is so nice to hear that families too, feel valued and part of our community.
My experience of Charnwood Country Residence is as a Day care User. A phone call the day before to ask 'can I bring Mum tomorrow please from coffee till after tea ? Certainly what time will you arrive '? . On arrival I am settled into a comfortable chair in the Living Room where I join in whatever is happening that day or I can choose to do my own thing . Choice of food from a menu is served with correct cutlery napkins and drinks of my choice -milk shakes tea, fizzy cans etc. Sign of an excellant kitchen brigade -they can cook vegetables properly -cabbage that is crisp, make soup and sauces to die for! Any request for help is given promptly, kindly using correct safe methods of handling me . I go home after a lovely day in good company sharing all the residents' and staff news and views . My daughter has had day off caring for me. Money well spent
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences of the care and support you have at Charnwood as a person who visits for day care. It is so heart warming to hear how much you value us as Team and the difference we make to you and your daughter.
My cousin has always been a fiercely independent person and I was anxious that she would struggle greatly with this move and become either very agitated or depressed. I am so relieved that these worries were completely unfounded! Staff at Charnwood are exceptionally caring. They put each resident's needs at the heart of everything they do each day. They are hard working, professional and so incredibly kind. The bedrooms are immaculately clean and wonderfully homely, routines are flexible and person-centred, the food quality is outstanding, wellbeing initiatives are thoughtfully implemented and the medical and management and support staff are all extremely competent and kind. This place is truly special and I am grateful to have found it.
Thank you for your kind words and I am genuinely pleased we have managed to relieve the worries and anxieties you had prior to your cousins admission. I will ensure your review is shared with the whole team as feedback is important to us in ensuring we continue to provide the best quality care and support not only to our residents but to their families and friends too.
