Charnwood Country Residence Reviews (113)
Charnwood Country Residence has a Review Score of 10 (9.950) out of 10, based on 37 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Charnwood Country Residence has 113 reviews.
Every single one of them deserves my total gratitude for their care of my Father.
Their knowledge and professionalism is top class but what makes the team so outstanding is the friendliness, obvious sense of genuine care for the residents, warmth and smiles and the 'above and beyond' effort they put into lots of extra activities.
It has always stood out that whenever I visit, they remember my name and are happy to answer any questions.
Managements communication about any changes in my Fathers health or situation has been exceptional.
The property itself is small enough to not feel intimidating but large enough to provide separate spaces for residents to socialise or have quiet time, as they prefer.
I would certainly recommend Charnwood to anyone looking for a Care Home and they shall always have my eternal Thanks.
Thank you for such a heartfelt review, I will ensure I share your review with the whole team as feedback is so important to the care and support with provide here at Charnwood.
Earlier this year my husband and sister in law took the difficult decision to ask their mother to move from the family home in the east of England to Herefordshire. Visiting a few local care homes, Charnwood really stood head and shoulders above the rest - from the initial meeting with the Manager, to seeing the Activity Coordinator in action, to the financial information from the Accounts team and to the care and attention received by residents from every member of staff. The team at Charnwood made a difficult decision much more manageable, and my mother in law is thriving in her new home - folk nights at the local pub, daytrips around the area, meals juggled to match her preferences. The day we arrived after a long drive across the country, L and the team were there with a warm welcome, tea & cake, and a card and gift tailored to my mother in law's love of wildlife - a level of thoughtfulness typical of the team and which is evident on every visit. Thank you all.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Our values at Charnwood are belonging, kindness, understanding, trust and joy and these values ensure we delivered a person centered approach to everything we do. I will ensure your words are shared with the whole.
My mum has been at Charnwood Country Residence for six months and all the staff have made her feel incredibly welcome. Moving to a care home is a huge change but they couldn't have done more to help her settle in. She now feels at home and happy. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff, no matter their role. It's wonderful to know she's in such thoughtful and reliable care, and we feel lucky to have found the place.
Thank you for taking the time to share these comments, it really is lovely to read that our values here at Charnwood are having such an impact on not only the resident's we support but their families too. I will ensure I share your kind words with the staff.
Our relative has been at Charnwood for about six months and has come to feel very much at home. Every single member of the staff takes time and care to get to know residents and their unique needs and preferences - not just the care staff, but the events organiser, kitchen staff, maintenance and garden staff, and probably others I've never even seen - everyone puts residents' individual needs first with patience and kindness. Activities are tailored to the interests of residents, food requirements are adapted willingly and efficiently, and individual routines are respected. We always feel welcomed when we visit - it feels like a caring community and a genuine home. Senior staff cover care shifts when needed to avoid the use of agency staff and this level of commitment trickles down to the whole staff team, who are cheerful, committed and caring.
Thank you for such kind words and I will ensure this review is shared with the whole team. Our vision at Charnwood is to be more than a care home, to be a family and community where everyone belongs, is heard and is supported to live with purpose and joy.
My father has been at Charnwood Country Residence nearly five months now. He has mobility issues and severe dementia. As a family we have been overwhelmed by the care that he has received at Charnwood. The facilities, food and amenitied are all first class, but it is the staff that make it such an exceptional place. The love and care that they show my father are clear at all times and Amy made him feel loved and special in the way that he deserves as he nears the end of his time with us. He is treated like one of the family and is at peace with himself and is happy as he can possibly be so I couldn't be more grateful to everyone there for their incredible efforts.
My mother was a resident of your wonderful home until she passed away. Throughout her time with you, almost three years, you have looked after her to the highest possible standard. My brothers and I feel so grateful to you all - everyone I have been lucky enough to meet has been, without exception, caring and kind. My mother's wishes were always respected and her last weeks were wonderfully and patiently cared for. I am sure the outstanding status is richly deserved and I cannot thank you enough
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review and I will certainly share this with the whole team.
There is a warm, friendly community of residents and staff that have been kind and supportive. Lots going on. Fabulous food and flexible compassionate care.
We have been very impressed with the level of service at Charnwood County Residence. When we visit our grandma, it is clear that all the residents are well looked after, offered a variety of activities throughout the day, and by all accounts the food is great! The home is spotlessly clean and the gardens are maintained to a high level. We really enjoy the updates on Facebook from the staff, and enjoy seeing our grandma happily getting involved in bingo, painting, flower arranging - to name a few. We also like how the residents are offered a trip out of the home to places across Herefordshire, with the staff taking in to account places which might hold a special meaning to a resident. Her room is light and airy, and always very clean. We are so pleased to have found Charnwood, and would recommend to others.
Mum has settled in well and made friends. She enjoys taking part in the bingo sessions, on a Thursday afternoon, painting the pictures provided and arranging flowers. The trips out to various locations are very much enjoyed especially to areas that are local to were she lived and garden centres. The family are always made to feel welcome especially when we joined her for her 90th birthday. The staff are very caring and Charnwood Country Residence is a home that we would recommend to anyone looking to the future for a family member.
I have been extremely pleased with the care my mother in law has received since arriving at this wonderful care home. She has settled in well, with all of her needs catered for. The home has a lovely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and I would thoroughly recommend Charnwood Country Residence.
Charnwood is a special place, and I would highly recommend to others.
My mum has been at Charnwood Country Residence for 2 years. She is very well cared for by wonderful staff in top class accommodation. She thoroughly enjoys all the activities and days out. She also enjoys being able to get out in the garden and help with the vegetable trugs. I visit most Saturdays and am always made very welcome.
Thank you for such positive feedback and I will make sure your review is shared with the team.
There was a lovely atmosphere, the home was decorated beautifully and they residents had lots of activities to do. Everyone is included, whatever their abilities and everyone seems happy. I would recommend this home to my family and friends.
The Charnwood Country Residence team care about their residents. My mother moved to Charnwood in Spring 2020. The staff are kind and attentive. The management team take time to get to know the residents and react swiftly to queries and concerns. As a non-local family member, I particularly appreciate the regular newsletters and social media updates. We did a great deal of research before selecting Charnwood and are very pleased with the choice that we made.
She is very well looked after and comfortable and safe.
The staff are very helpful and always are on hand to help out when needs be.
I am very happy with Charnwood.
Thank you for such kind feedback and comments, your review will be shared with the team.
Full of amazingly fabulous staff, always a great atmosphere there, the residents seem to love being there and are loved by all staff.
Also the foods wonderful, very lucky residents.
Thank you for such lovely comments. Feedback is extremely important to us and I will ensure your review is shared with the team.
The team is well led and it is interesting to see that all members of staff multitask to help each other in their roles. When my mother and I visit, we are made to feel welcome and are given regular updates on my father's care.
Most importantly, I feel my father is in a safe and caring environment which helps to allay my family's anxiety about having to place him into a care home.
Thank you for such lovely and positive comments and I will ensure I share your review with the team.
The facility is comfortable, smells free, airy and light. The atmosphere is very homely and welcoming. My Father was extremely happy here and was planning to return after his operations, even consenting to sell his home of 44 years. Naturally, all of this was due to the staff and activity organiser in particular who made his stay so wonderful, poetry reading, painting, excursions, and a planned "chair-cycle ride" to Jon O Groats!
I would like to thank you for your kind words and I will ensure your review is shared with the team here at Charnwood.
Charnwood Country Residence is an excellent example of how all care homes should be run. Having had dealings with other homes in the past, what a breath of fresh air this one is. The staff make a fantastic effort to get to know each resident individually and provide activities geared to their interests. All staff are welcoming to visitors and take the time to chat about their loved ones and address any concerns swiftly. Although my friend was only here for a short while, I'm pleased to say the last few weeks of his life were bestowed with affection and care from these wonderful staff at Charnwood.
Thank you so much for such lovely feedback, your words do mean a great deal to us, as a team, here at Charnwood and I will ensure your review is shared with everyone.
As a daughter of an Alzheimer's sufferer, I have also been incredibly grateful for the caring support the staff have given me. They are so understanding and sensitive to the whole family's needs. Thank you, Charnwood.
Thank you for such a lovely review; your feedback and comments are so important to us. I will share your review with the team.
