When I visit Charnwood Country Residence there is a lovely, friendly atmosphere. It is always clean and fresh and the residents and staff all look happy. The activities they do are awesome. I keep up with it all on the Charnwood social media page. The food and care are also wonderful, not forgetting
the maintenance team. Well done all.

Amazing people who treated my dear friend so well with love and dignity. Excellent management from the top which filters down at a very high standard. Attention to detail, hygiene and cleanliness were of a are very high standard. The entertainment teacher very gently encouraged people to get involved
which is so important! I had to travel a long way to do my many visits and it was worth it to have the care they give.

My mother has just spent seven weeks at Charnwood Country Residence for respite care. This is our first experience of a care home and we couldn't be more pleased that Mum has enjoyed her stay so much. All the staff have been wonderful to her and supportive of us as a family. We would certainly never
worry about her going back and indeed plan to book her in for for some weekly day care. The social side of the home has been so good for her. She has made new friends at the age of 103!

Charnwood Country Residence has a very happy, friendly atmosphere. There are regular outings and activities and a real sense of caring for every resident. This caring was so evident when I returned to Charnwood after a trip to A&E with my friend, so many staff came to welcome her home. It was lovely
to see her happy to be home at Charnwood.

The whole family are very happy with the wonderful care my sister has had since she became a resident last autumn.
I personally am incredibly impressed with the way the staff look after a patient with dementia and also how they look after the family of a resident. I live quite a long way away, but
when I phone they are always friendly and helpful, and if possible I get to talk to my sister.

Charnwood Country Residence is extremely well-led. All aspects of care are carried out with real attention to detail. There is a great understanding of emotions, residents and family, which inspires confidence. The kindness given is incredible and residents soon feel "this is home". This ethos is obvious
throughout the whole of Charnwood and shows through the smiles of residents. It goes without saying that expertise in care is very apparent and, as a resident's partner, I am deeply grateful.

Collaborative, kind and caring culture across all aspects of the home with effective communication. Management changes over the last five years has meant some ups and downs but with strong management now in place. The home is consistently living the values of compassionate, kind, caring, collaborative,
person-centred care. Management understands and lives the important value of candour. A vital cornerstone of building trusting and effective relationships with family/POA - ensuring best interest decisions are made collaboratively for those who may lack the capacity to make their own specific decisions. Very grateful for this home's support at a time when we - as a family - are at our most emotionally vulnerable.

Mum is very happy with the care, lovely food and loves the view from her room. We are delighted she has settled in so well. The staff and carers are kind, friendly and do a great job looking after their residents in sometimes trying circumstances. When Mum visits us for the day and returns to Charnwood
she is always greeted with smiles and genuine warmth. We can relax knowing all her needs are being met. Thank you to everyone.

In August 2022, my father was moved to the Charnwood Country Residence. This was due to his ill health and needing 24-hour assistance. Unfortunately, in November my father was taken ill and returned to Charnwood for end-of-life care. On behalf of my brother and wife, we would like to say what a wonderful
care home this is. My father was looked after fantastically well and settled there quickly. I can't recommend this care home highly enough in the knowledge your loved ones are in a safe environment. Thank you.

Our friend, whom we have lasting power of attorney for, stayed for three weeks over Christmas and the New Year 2022/23. Making all arrangements was very easy and all staff we worked with were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our friend's stay was a resounding success and she enjoyed her stay
tremendously, which was reciprocated by all at Charnwood Country Residence! Our friend has made new friends and is looking forward to visiting Charnwood again in the near future. We also feel we have made friends with the staff at Charnwood. Excellent, cannot be faulted, thank you.

I was very impressed with the standard of care that I observed on my visit. On the day of my visit, the residents were treated to a Christmas carol sing-a-long followed by a delicious, plentiful buffet which we were all able to participate in. There was prosecco for everyone and even a visit from Santa!
The orangery was decorated beautifully and seemed to be full of happy, obviously well-cared-for residents.
My mother-in-law is very happy here and can't praise the staff enough. Thank you and a very happy Christmas to you all.

Excellent service from initial contact to placement of elderly parent. Facilities and resident room excellent, well maintained with a homely feel. All staff are very professional and exceptionally helpful, friendly and caring. Communication between the home and the resident and their family is also

I have been so impressed by the kindness and help I received from all the staff I have had contact with while arranging care for my sister with Dementia. All my queries and concerns have been addressed. My sister's room was so attractively arranged to welcome her. Everything seems to be done to a high
standard with the need of the residents paramount. All the staff from the maintenance team, cook, and carers to the administrators are so helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble.

Wonderful care, pleasant surroundings, excellent food and interesting activities! My family and I can't thank everyone enough for the kindness, compassion, patience and understanding my husband received. They helped make the transition from home to care home as painless as possible. Sadly his needs
became too complex to be able to stay. A special mention to the home manager, administrator and activity organiser for going beyond the call of duty - making his journey easier.

My aunt recently went to Charnwood for respite for one week. She suffers from Alzheimer’s. The staff at Charnwood could not have been more supportive and caring in what turned out to be a very difficult and challenging week.
The manager’s support to myself and my aunt was exemplary - visiting her
home prior to admission to help pack a bag as my aunt was becoming very anxious. The hour spent at home with my aunt then was very reassuring for her.
I cannot praise all the staff at the home enough - everyone gets involved to make Charnwood as homely as possible.
The food was amazing, cooked on-site by a superb chef.
My aunt’s needs escalated during the stay but all of this was coped with admirably and additional services were notified to assist in my aunt being able to return home.
The continued support I have had from the staff, in particular Charnwood’s manager, since my aunt’s return home has been invaluable.
I cannot thank them enough and highly recommend Charnwood.

The management staff are so helpful and understand their residents and their needs so well. The care staff are caring and helpful to the residents and always polite and helpful to visitors. I always find a warm welcome at Charnwood. Plenty of activities to do, and my mum is encouraged to join in as
much as she can.

If this is the right home 'you'll know', we were told. It was true. Comprehensive research preceded our visit. You can't judge atmosphere, warmth and welcome from a government report but Charnwood Country Residence has this in abundance. The residents we met looked relaxed and happy, chatting over afternoon
tea. We booked a room with the agreement of my mother and the rest was taken care of. On moving in day the welcome was warm. A few tweaks, in the beginning, made the settling in easy. My mother has established a great relationship with the staff who have already set her some unusual challenges. It's not easy to move home when you are very advanced in years but with careful preparation and caring staff, this has been a very positive change of direction and given my mother a new sense of purpose.
Charnwood really is a lovely little gem hidden in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

With the benefit of visiting my wife at Charnwood Country Residence over fifteen months, I see it as a lovely home with a family atmosphere.
The staff are superb. It has an owner who cares about the residents and staff and who also takes the trouble to communicate with relatives via Zoom meetings to
update them and answer any questions they have. This has been of great value during Covid.
