My mum is at Charnwood Country Residence and we find it outstanding in all areas from management, reception, care staff and kitchen/meals.
I can't praise this home enough, absolutely five stars.

My aunt recently went to Charnwood for respite for one week. She suffers from Alzheimer’s. The staff at Charnwood could not have been more supportive and caring in what turned out to be a very difficult and challenging week.
The manager’s support to myself and my aunt was exemplary - visiting her
home prior to admission to help pack a bag as my aunt was becoming very anxious. The hour spent at home with my aunt then was very reassuring for her.
I cannot praise all the staff at the home enough - everyone gets involved to make Charnwood as homely as possible.
The food was amazing, cooked on-site by a superb chef.
My aunt’s needs escalated during the stay but all of this was coped with admirably and additional services were notified to assist in my aunt being able to return home.
The continued support I have had from the staff, in particular Charnwood’s manager, since my aunt’s return home has been invaluable.
I cannot thank them enough and highly recommend Charnwood.

The management staff are so helpful and understand their residents and their needs so well. The care staff are caring and helpful to the residents and always polite and helpful to visitors. I always find a warm welcome at Charnwood. Plenty of activities to do, and my mum is encouraged to join in as
much as she can.

If this is the right home 'you'll know', we were told. It was true. Comprehensive research preceded our visit. You can't judge atmosphere, warmth and welcome from a government report but Charnwood Country Residence has this in abundance. The residents we met looked relaxed and happy, chatting over afternoon
tea. We booked a room with the agreement of my mother and the rest was taken care of. On moving in day the welcome was warm. A few tweaks, in the beginning, made the settling in easy. My mother has established a great relationship with the staff who have already set her some unusual challenges. It's not easy to move home when you are very advanced in years but with careful preparation and caring staff, this has been a very positive change of direction and given my mother a new sense of purpose.
Charnwood really is a lovely little gem hidden in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

With the benefit of visiting my wife at Charnwood Country Residence over fifteen months, I see it as a lovely home with a family atmosphere.
The staff are superb. It has an owner who cares about the residents and staff and who also takes the trouble to communicate with relatives via Zoom meetings to
update them and answer any questions they have. This has been of great value during Covid.

Covid, inside visiting much appreciated. Window visits, whilst a good second best, do leave me with quite severe back pains.

Dad visited Charnwood Country Residence for a respite period last year and has now been a resident since January 21. In my opinion, Charnwood is very well managed and actively takes into consideration all of Dad’s needs including the importance of family and friends. Despite Covid challenges the team
at Charnwood have adapted to ensure that we can stay connected with and visit Dad without compromising on safety to residents and within government guidelines. Staff are friendly, caring and very kind, taking time to chat and get to know Dad and he has a good rapport with many of them. There is attention to detail, providing small pleasures that we take for granted at home. The Facebook page and stake holder meetings are invaluable in getting an insight into the activities provided and the hard work going on behind the scenes. Thank you all for your fantastic work. I would have no hesitation in recommending Charnwood Country Residence.

My mother became a resident of Charnwood Country Residence on the 19th February 2020. She celebrated her 100th birthday on April 30th during the Covid lockdown period. Sadly we were unable to celebrate this day with her, however Charnwood carers made the day very special. On 3rd May she developed Covid
19 symptoms and became very ill indeed. Due to the wonderful care she received, she made a full recovery. Charnwood provides a cheerful, stimulating and comfortable environment. I feel confident that my mother is being well looked after. Thank you Charnwood.

I would not hesitate to recommend Charnwood Care Home. From the moment we arrived unannounced to look around we knew this was the right place. The staff are amazing, very caring and loving towards residents and they treat them like one of the family. The cleanliness was a very high standard and the
food excellent all homemade to a very high standard. Again I would like to thank all the staff for the love and care towards

Full marks in so many ways. Their handling of the emergency acceptance of my stepmother into the home. The staff treat everyone as an individual and look at how to cater to their needs and interests. Thought has gone into the programme of activities. The staff keep us in the loop as to her care and

Home from home, my dad has lived here now for nearly 5 years and whilst he doesn't like getting old he loves it here and feels safe. I have already recommended Charnwood to numerous friends with elderly parents - some of whom now reside at Charnwood. Highly recommended.

I have noticed over the last two years that at least 50% of residents need help or encouragement with eating. The carers do their best but they just don't have the time. As a result, many residents leave their food. More staff needed?

This home is remarkably good in all respects. My mother has been a resident for almost a year, and we continue to be very impressed. We have visited at different times, and on a variety of days over the year, and the atmosphere is always positive and friendly. Full marks.

Mum has been in Charnwood for just over one year. She was 93 years old and had the start of dementia and lived over three hours away from me. When it was time to seek out a care home we went straight to Charnwood as we had heard how brilliant and caring they were by word of mouth. I could not disagree
they treated mum as family. Sadly mum passed away on the 10th of July. The carers were magnificent and couldn't do enough for us. Very caring, loving and as upset as we were at her passing.
