I have always found staff/management to be approachable, friendly and caring towards Mom and myself. When I have raised any concerns I may have, or just engage in conversation, I have always found them taking the time to listen.

I have been living at Orchard Blythe for the last 3 and a half years and would not wish to be anywhere else. We have lovely carers who are there when we need them from getting us up in the morning at about 8.30-9 o clock and go to bed in the evening when we are ready. They make our beds and prepare all our meals (I don't have any complaints). We also have a very good entertainments manager, who also organises things.

My mom has recently moved into Orchard Blythe.

I waited for her place because I knew this was the best place. I had a neighbour whose father had been at this home for 4 years and she had nothing but praise for the care her dad had received at Orchard Blythe. Since moving in, my mom's care has been beyond reproach.

Caring, supportive and excellent care. The accolade is that my mom says she is "happy" and that's all that matters.

Review from J A (Relative of Resident) published on 28 November 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Generally, my relative's care is good. The staff treat them with respect and always seem to be caring and considerate of their needs.

My relative's room is very suitable for their needs and they are well cared for in terms of their cleanliness needs too.

I do have concerns with regard to the staff levels and consistency. Particularly in relation to general housekeeping of their room or their laundry. I feel that standards here are declining. Rooms are not as well maintained as before. There is also a lack of entertainment at times. When the entertainment organiser is absent, this is a major concern as, without it, my relative has little to do. Food choices are poor.

Mom has now been in the care of the excellent team at Orchard Blythe for 12 months. Throughout that period, we have never had any concerns about the quality of the care and support provided. All of the staff, at every level, have ensured that mom has had every need catered for. Indeed, mom has recently had a fall, resulting in a broken wrist requiring the staff to provide extra help in washing, dressing etc. This has been undertaken without any fuss to make mom comfortable. We are extremely pleased with everything about Orchard Blythe.

I came to be in Orchard Blythe due to an accident at home and many weeks in hospital.
I was only a resident for a month or so to recuperate. I had a very positive experience.

All the staff from the management down are really kind and helpful, the environment was very pleasant and welcoming and the food was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.

Hayley Ford Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2005
Hayley Ford

I have been involved in care since the age of 16. My career began at Caldwell Grange in 1983, where I worked until I was 21, leaving briefly after the birth of my first son. I continued my journey in the care sector, supporting both elderly individuals and those with learning disabilities throughout the district.

I dedicated 33 years to Warwickshire County Council until the homes were transferred to Runwood Homes in 2013. For the past 20 years, I’ve proudly served as the Manager at Orchard Blythe, part of the Runwood Homes group. Throughout my career, my focus has always been on delivering high-quality, person-centred care, ensuring our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

I have consistently worked hard to achieve strong CQC outcomes. At our last inspection, we were rated ‘Good’ in four areas and received an ‘Outstanding’ in Well-Led, something I am incredibly proud of. My goal at Orchard Blythe is to maintain or even exceed these standards.

On a personal note, I have two grown-up children. My son, now 37, is a Sergeant in the Royal Marines and has served since the age of 18. My daughter, aged 34, is a Team Leader at a fibre optics company. I am also a proud grandparent to two grandchildren, aged 13 and 6.

Lisa Morgan Job Title: Chef Joined: 1996
Lisa Morgan

I’m Lisa Morgan, and I’ve been a cook for the past 28 years. I truly love my job and enjoy interacting with the residents, often being the first to dress up and get involved in activities. I take great pride in creating a positive atmosphere and engaging with everyone in the home.

In my spare time, I’ve learnt to knit, enjoy walking with my dog, and listen to music. I find these activities relaxing and fulfilling outside of my busy role.

Michelle Lansdown Job Title: Lifestyle Coordinator Joined: 2018
Michelle Lansdown

I’ve been part of the team here for 6 years, and during that time, it has been incredibly rewarding to see the residents grow in confidence through activities, make new friends, and become a part of our close-knit community. I truly love being here and cherish the opportunity to work with such wonderful residents.

In my spare time, I enjoy going on holidays and exploring new places.

Debbie Bott Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2002
Debbie Bott

With over 22 years of experience in the care sector, I have dedicated my career to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Since joining Orchard Blythe in 2002, I have demonstrated unwavering commitment and passion for my work, starting as a domestic assistant and progressing to the role of Deputy Manager.

Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience by working across all departments within the home. This journey has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of care, enabling me to support both residents and staff effectively.

I take great pride in being part of an extraordinary team that is devoted to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents. I firmly believe in promoting dignity and independence, and I am passionate about empowering my team to uphold these values every day. Creating a nurturing and compassionate environment is at the core of everything I do, and it’s a responsibility I hold close to my heart.

Lesley Deakin Job Title: Senior Administrator Joined: 2017
Lesley Deakin

I joined Orchard Blythe in 2017 as a Finance Administrator, bringing with me over 30 years of experience in administration. With a background in nursing and occupational therapy, I offer a unique perspective that allows me to connect deeply with both staff and residents.

Before joining Orchard Blythe, I worked as an occupational therapist in an older people’s setting, where I developed a passion for improving the quality of life for seniors. In my current role as Senior Administrator, I manage the day-to-day administration and financial operations of the home, alongside offering support across our other Homes within the Region

My responsibilities include liaising with families, managing contracts, overseeing budgets, and coordinating financial reporting.

In addition to my administrative duties, I enjoy participating in activities with the residents, fostering a sense of community and connection. I believe that engaging with residents is essential in creating a warm and welcoming environment.

I am dedicated to my work and take great pride in my compassionate approach, which I feel makes me a valued member of the Orchard Blythe team.
