Ashfields care home comprises of three suites:

Bluebell suite is a dedicated 10 bed suite providing award winning palliative care for residents entering the final phase of life or with a life limiting condition. All rooms are singe ensuite, some with shower rooms. Most have patio doors onto a garden area. The suite has its own lounge and residents kitchenette.

Daffodil Suite is a 40 bed, ground floor suite providing care to complex and non complex nursing and residential residents. All rooms are singe ensuite most having shower rooms. Many rooms open to a series of courtyards, gardens and pretty landscaped paths which provide secure and sheltered outside space for your enjoyment. . The suite has a large lounge, small lounge and restaurant.

Poppy Suite is a 26 bed suite first floor providing care to residents with residential and nursing care needs. All rooms are single ensuite shower rooms. The suite has its own dining room and lounge.

All three suites have access to the phoenix bar, coffee shop and salon.

24-hour cover is provided by a qualified, experienced and committed care team specifically recruited for their sensitivity, dedication and professional expertise in this area of care.

Chefs provide fresh home-cooked food which is nutritionally balanced; special dietary requirements can be catered for. Meals can be eaten in the restaurant, dining room, coffee shop or residents can choose to dine in their own room.

Ashfields activity team provide a variety of activities individual and within groups covering seven days per week. The home has its own minibus so residents can enjoy trips out.

Ashfields is like one big family, all the staff are welcoming, kind, and care about the residents nothing is too much trouble for them.
The food always looks delicious and nutritious, I have always found the home spotless and clean from the reception to the resident's bedrooms. Ashfields has an activities
rota so the residents don't get bored or they can go to the cafe or bar.
I think it's one of the best care homes from my experience and I am so pleased and grateful my dad was able to get a place there. I couldn't have wished for better.

My first experience of Ashfields Care Home was when my mother needed end-of-life care in 2021. She had Alzheimer's and terminal cancer. The care she received was second to none. She was treated with great dignity and respect even in death. I will never forget that. So when Father could no longer be
cared for at home Ashfields, Forget Me Not suite was on my list to visit.
My first impression of visiting in January 2024 was that of a place full of life and activity. All the staff is warm, friendly, and welcoming. The care he receives is exceptional. I know I could not care for him as well as they do. He has easy access to health services which are much harder to access in the community. His physical health is monitored constantly and any concerns are acted upon rapidly. He enjoys the activities that are provided both morning and afternoon, I have seen him dancing and singing, something I have never seen before. He has grown very fond of the staff and appreciates their support.

I fell upon Ashfields by chance whilst looking for a Nursing Home for my mum. She had been placed in a place, can't call it a home, by the hospital on discharge. What a place, but that's another story. Just no comparison whatsoever to Ashfields. It is a Home away from home. My mum is a difficult resident
but she is shown love and affection, she is cared for and her needs are met. She has never been overmedicated to keep her behaviours under control, in fact, the opposite, they will not dose mum up to keep her behaviours under control. I am kept informed of all the changes to her medications, care, and illnesses, and asked my opinions. Mum has been at 3 years at Ashfields and they have been brilliant, she is still a difficult resident but they have persevered with her and some progress can be seen. I can't thank them enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Ashfields.

My mum has been in Ashfields for about a year now and it's amazing.
The staff go above and beyond for the residents and you can genuinely feel how much they love, care for and respect our precious relatives.
There is always someone there to talk to as they are lovely people. The facilities are second
to none and I can't recommend it highly enough.

My husband has been in Forget Me Not Suite, dementia unit for nearly 5 years. He is looked after so well, he is always looking smart, clean, and shaved. They do regular entertainment for the residents and involve them with games. The carers are absolutely great, nothing is too much for them, they are
great with us, the relatives, myself, and my daughters and would not have him anywhere else than in Ashfields Care Home.

Mum became a resident in March 2022. Whilst she was never a happy resident because of her Alzheimers she was well cared for and the staff were lovely on Poppy. Alzheimer's started to progress, and she was transferred to Forget Me Not the Dementia suite. Some of the staff are very caring. Things started
to go wrong. We felt we needed to have very regular conversations about infections, behaviour and drugs. The staff appeared to be helpful. It came to a point when we thought we were losing mum. They decided they couldn't cope. It was recommended that she be moved. The move was arranged, they couldn't have cared less. They packed up other possessions and missed some of mum's. They never once asked how she was in the following couple of days and within two hours removed us from social media.
She arrived at her new home, she perked up, it looked like they were giving her too many drugs to keep her calm at Ashfields. She stayed on minimal drugs and calmer until she passed away in May 2024.

I am so sorry to hear of your mums' passing. As you say your mum was never happy in a care home, as her illness progressed so did her distressed behaviours these impacted on other residents, some sustained injuries. Despite trying lots of things and involving multiple professionals she was assessed by CMHT and needed a specialist placement. This was disappointing as in the 8 years I have managed Ashfields your mum was only the 2nd resident we have not been able to meet the needs of. As for 'we could not care less' we bought a leaving gift and the staff were in tears, as a family, you did not see this as no one could be bothered to escort her, you just sent a taxi. Due to data protection we always remove people from the family WhatsApp group once a resident is no longer with us. We never give residents too many drugs we are governed by NICE guidelines and can only administer prescribed drugs we work closely with our health professionals always looking at alternative ways of delivering care.

On my first visit to Ashfields in February I cried it has such a welcoming environment and friendly staff throughout.
The Forget Me Not team cannot be praised enough. The transition into full-time care for Mum was made so much easier by their warmth to our family, obvious dedication and support to
individual's needs within a well-supervised and managed unit. 6 months on Mum has improved in so many ways and thanks to them all she is happy settled and safe. We have all made new friends and I know the 24/7 care with hugs and a smile confirms that Ashfields is the right choice.

My mum's been at Ashfields specialist dementia wing (Forgot me not) since April this year. Our welcome to the home couldn't have been warmer. The environment is clean and fresh and well decorated. Her room is small but it's nicely decorated and has a door leading directly into the garden, which makes
it perfect for my mum who needs that feeling of escape to the outdoors. The staff seem genuinely caring of the residents. The diary of activities is endless, which is so important for people with dementia. A day doesn't go by where they haven't organised some form of celebration, games, dancing, baking or general fun! My mum's condition is such that she is confused and distressed a lot of the time and doesn't want to partake in any activities. The carers and leadership team have shown so much concern and have closely monitored her condition, adapting her meds, adapting their approach to her and finding 121 activities to suit her. I feel we landed on gold when we found this place.

From the moment we walked into Ashfields when looking for dementia care for my mum, I just knew that was where I wanted her to be.
The staff are always so warm and welcoming - there is always a smile and a hello from everyone you meet.
It really is a proper home from home and nothing is too much
trouble. My mum is on the Forget-Me-Not dementia suite and the staff really, really care. The residents are treated with such tenderness and respect and it's just like one big family. My mum isn't really aware of what's going on around her but she has a different stimulus every day, which she joins in with and she always has a smile on her face, as evidenced by the photos posted in the family group chat. Even though her memory is poor, her face lights up when she sees any of the staff, so it's clear how comfortable and safe she feels.
I cannot praise Ashfields enough. It's so heartwarming to be in the building. I can't thank them enough for looking after my mum so well.

My mum arrived at Ashfields on the Forget Me Not Suite on the 17th of July. I know it's only been two weeks but in that time I have seen a big difference in my mum, she's looking really content, healthy and she's really enjoying her meals now. The staff are absolutely amazing and I couldn't have wished

My sister received the best care I could have wished for in her final days. The staff on the Daffodil Suite was absolutely amazing and always went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.

A home of smiles. Warm and welcoming. The carers and everybody working there are just wonderful, special people. Lots of entertainment and activities to keep residents stimulated and active, also lots of hugs and love. After a visit to my husband, I feel content to know that he is in very good hands.

Really impressed with both the staff and the facilities at Ashfields. Gave my grandmother dignity and comfort in a time when she would have otherwise struggled greatly.
Staff go above and beyond to provide a caring bedside manner, and make family feel welcome at all times.
The facilities are so clean
that my grandfather remarked he could eat his dinner off the toilet when visiting, and the coffee shop and bar area are a wonderful addition.
The care staff are friendly, and approachable and keep you in the loop, management has been amazing in explaining everything to us, the cleaning staff keep the place smelling and looking fantastic and the kitchen staff provide top quality food far above other places we've tried. Plus the activities on offer a wealth of amusement.
It really does have such a pleasant and welcoming mood and I thank the staff heartily for their continued efforts.

My dad has been a resident for 4 years. The care home is beautiful and clean with lovely friendly and caring staff. They have home-cooked food every day from a very clean kitchen. There are always lots of activities for residents to keep them happy and busy. Dad is always clean and well-groomed. I would

My mum has been in Ashfields Care Home for the last two months and I couldn’t be happier that she is there after a worrying time trying to find the right place for my mum. The staff are fantastic and at last, I have no worries about the care my mum is receiving. Everything is spotless, the moment you
walk in the door everyone is so friendly and really feels like a family unit. The care and patience my mum receives is second to none and I can finally sleep at night knowing she is receiving five-star care.

My husband has dementia and was transferred to Ashfields Care home recently. I have been amazed at how he has settled. This is all due to the love and care of the staff. You can tell as soon as you walk into the home that it is warm and welcoming. I particularly appreciated the messaging group’s 50
or so pictures of the residents enjoying singing and dancing. My husband is very new to the Ashfields family but he was up there dancing and singing. It was so lovely to see. Thank you all very much.

My aunt has been at the home for almost four months now. She has settled in well. My aunt is a different person from how she was in a previous care home. It is the staff that makes the home, and the staff at Ashfields are excellent. They really do care for the residents. It is like a big family.
The
dementia unit manager listens and helps resolve issues - nothing is too much trouble.
The staff put in so much effort with the activities. Allowing dogs to visit is the highlight for my aunt.
