My dad has been a resident for 4 years. The care home is beautiful and clean with lovely friendly and caring staff. They have home-cooked food every day from a very clean kitchen. There are always lots of activities for residents to keep them happy and busy. Dad is always clean and well-groomed. I would
be happy to be a resident myself, it is home from home. His room is well-equipped and always clean and tidy.

My mum has been in Ashfields Care Home for the last two months and I couldn’t be happier that she is there after a worrying time trying to find the right place for my mum. The staff are fantastic and at last, I have no worries about the care my mum is receiving. Everything is spotless, the moment you
walk in the door everyone is so friendly and really feels like a family unit. The care and patience my mum receives is second to none and I can finally sleep at night knowing she is receiving five-star care.

My husband has dementia and was transferred to Ashfields Care home recently. I have been amazed at how he has settled. This is all due to the love and care of the staff. You can tell as soon as you walk into the home that it is warm and welcoming. I particularly appreciated the messaging group’s 50
or so pictures of the residents enjoying singing and dancing. My husband is very new to the Ashfields family but he was up there dancing and singing. It was so lovely to see. Thank you all very much.

My aunt has been at the home for almost four months now. She has settled in well. My aunt is a different person from how she was in a previous care home. It is the staff that makes the home, and the staff at Ashfields are excellent. They really do care for the residents. It is like a big family.
The
dementia unit manager listens and helps resolve issues - nothing is too much trouble.
The staff put in so much effort with the activities. Allowing dogs to visit is the highlight for my aunt.

Can't praise Ashfields Care Home enough. Since moving there just over a year ago, Mum has received care of the highest standard. Staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. The activities that they involve the residents in are excellent and very enjoyable. Family are always welcome, kept informed
of what residents have been doing and are invited to the numerous social events.

From the first day we went to see the home to the last day we took mum's things away, all the staff were so kind and always went out of their way to help. This home is run in the most efficient way possible. The nurses and staff were kind and friendly and made my mum's stay (although short) the best
end of life we could ever have wished for. Staff would even ask what they could do to make Mum's stay even better. All staff spoke and made us feel so welcome every day we visited. We must thank the manager and all the backroom staff for their professional approach and we wish them all the best for the future.

My Mum is living at Ashfields Nursing Home as she has terminal cancer but she absolutely loves it being looked after by fantastic staff. I too am treated like part of the Ashfields family with nothing being too much trouble, if I visit at teatime often I will be offered a drink with something to eat.
There is a great cafe which provides a meeting hub for residents and their families, I have met so many lovely people whilst having a gingerbread latte and chocolate biscuit. The hair salon is a good addition to the home, Mum is really pleased with the hairdresser as she does a brilliant job. Christmas was a huge surprise I received a lovely Christmas card with a picture of Mum and a lovely verse inside, she received 4 presents from the staff: a mug, an artificial flower in a pot, chocolates and a super photograph in a frame of her and her favourite carer. The entertainment team wow not enough words to say how brilliant they are my Mum cannot praise them enough.
Wow, what a fantastic nursing home, the home manager and her team need a gold medal for the brilliant support given to the families of the residents and the dedicated staff that give excellent care to my Mum. Both my Mum and Dad moved to Ashfields Nursing Home at the end of October 2022 after being in another not-so-organised residential home, what a huge difference, the care is outstanding and we received a lovely welcome committee upon arrival. My Dad who unfortunately passed away in November 2022 suffered with Parkinson's disease, I invariably had to visit the other home at various times of the day as I didn't feel confident with the care and experience of the staff. I had no worries and every confidence that I could arrive at Ashfields and the care wasn't compromised, Dad was extremely well looked after until the very end where he died with love, compassion and dignity. All residents and families are part of the family at Ashfields thank you to everyone.

Both my parents were part of the Ashfields family and both received exemplary care on Poppy Suite. All the staff are so kind and caring, they treat all the residents with respect and care. They take the time to get to know each resident so that their care is tailored to that person. For example, my
father loved his puddings, so he always had seconds offered! The activities are also great and varied, so there is something for everyone whatever their ability or interest. My mother loved to bake so the activity coordinators arranged for her to bake scones so that everyone could enjoy a cream tea. Mum was so happy to do this. Even when my parents became bedridden they were still included in the activities. All the staff go that extra mile in all that they do, I can't praise Ashfields enough and will always be thankful that my parents were able to spend their last months being looked after by such dedicated folk. We all became part of the Ashfields family.

My husband has been taken care of for 18 months in Ashfields Dementia Suite.
He has had Alzheimer's for 12 years.
The carers at Ashfields are excellent at their job. They really do care and offer individual comfort to each resident.
The manageress is very hands-on and knows all her residents and
their particular needs with understanding care.
Staff are friendly and welcoming to me as a frequent, often upset, visitor.
I can thoroughly recommend this dementia home.

Ashfields is a truly exceptional care home, and the dedicated staff are its greatest asset. Nothing is too much trouble, and the love and care they show to the residents are really impressive. always made welcome, and felt that I too was part of the lovely, warm Ashfields family!

My husband has been lovingly cared for by the dedicated staff at this excellent care home for over two years. It is seventeen miles from my home, and I would willingly drive much further for him to receive the wonderful care, love and attention he receives at Ashfields. The Forget Me Not suite is superbly
run by the manager and her team of carers. There is a very friendly atmosphere, and we are warmly welcomed on all occasions. There is a very busy activities programme run by talented carers, which ensures participation and enjoyment for all residents. Ashfields is always beautifully decorated for all celebrations, whatever the occasion. Definitely, 5 stars and more if possible!

My father-in-law has been on Poppy suite since July 2021. The care he receives is excellent and the carers treat him like he is their relative. The system of having a key worker is excellent and his key carer goes above and beyond. She keeps us up to date with everything and we can relax knowing he
is so well looked after. He recently had a spell in hospital and before his return, management insisted he should come straight back to Ashfields rather than rehabilitation because this was his home.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.854)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.854) out of 10 for Ashfields Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.854 for Ashfields Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (412 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 465 Ratings = 4.854
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashfields Care Home is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
