Ashfields is a truly exceptional care home, and the dedicated staff are its greatest asset. Nothing is too much trouble, and the love and care they show to the residents are really impressive. My husband was very happy there, and for both of us, it was the best possible place. I went in most days, was always made welcome, and felt that I too was part of the lovely, warm Ashfields family!

Mum has lived at Ashfields Care Home for two and a half years. Throughout this time, without exception, we have found the staff and management to be excellent. The care they provide is exceptional, and they always demonstrate high levels of respect and dignity. We feel so very lucky and reassured that Mum is able to live in such a wonderful home.

My husband has been lovingly cared for by the dedicated staff at this excellent care home for over two years. It is seventeen miles from my home, and I would willingly drive much further for him to receive the wonderful care, love and attention he receives at Ashfields. The Forget Me Not suite is superbly run by the manager and her team of carers. There is a very friendly atmosphere, and we are warmly welcomed on all occasions. There is a very busy activities programme run by talented carers, which ensures participation and enjoyment for all residents. Ashfields is always beautifully decorated for all celebrations, whatever the occasion. Definitely, 5 stars and more if possible!

My father-in-law has been on Poppy suite since July 2021. The care he receives is excellent and the carers treat him like he is their relative. The system of having a key worker is excellent and his key carer goes above and beyond. She keeps us up to date with everything and we can relax knowing he is so well looked after. He recently had a spell in hospital and before his return, management insisted he should come straight back to Ashfields rather than rehabilitation because this was his home.

Very satisfied with the care that my mother has been given, the staff are lovely, and the family, as well as the residents, are well looked after, you get regular updates if there are any problems, and nothing is too much trouble to deal with anything.

I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff at Ashfields. Moving Dad into a care home on discharge from hospital was the most difficult decision I've ever taken and made harder by an unsatisfactory trial elsewhere. Searching for a new home, from the moment I visited Ashfields I felt reassured that Dad would receive the best care possible and staff would do everything they could to make him feel at home. That's certainly been the case. I really appreciate how hard Poppy Suite staff try to make Dad feel settled and happier on a daily basis despite the challenge that entails. Hearing my sometimes hard-to-please Dad praise some of the individuals caring for him makes me sure he's in the best place possible given his circumstances. I take much comfort from knowing he's well-cared-for, safe, and treated with dignity and compassion. That compassion and support is also shown to family members. Dad isn't interested in any activities so I really can't score them. Overall a truly 5* plus home.

My mum has found it very difficult to settle in Ashfields. The staff have treated her with dignity, compassion, humour and I appreciate how hard it is to make my mum happy. I can take comfort from the care my mum receives at Ashfields. The home is spotlessly clean and the staff treat me very sympathetically. The staff do a wonderful job.

My Gran has been under the care at Ashfields for nearly a year now, at first it took a while for Gran to settle but the staff soon reassured her and we visited every day. Along came a Covid case and the home closed its doors which I totally understood but equally both Gran and I missed contact. The staff of Poppy Suite Facetime me every day which gave us the opportunity to see and talk to her. Recently I was in the USA, Gran hates the thought of me flying, a wonderful carer downloaded an app to show Gran where in the sky I was, this gave her comfort. Upon landing very late in the evening I Facetime the home and Gran thought it was amazing that although I was half away around the world we could still speak, I looked at lots of homes before choosing Ashfields, I was blown away with how clean and smart the place was, the staff took time to really understand and care for Gran, the food is excellent and Gran is happy which is all that matters.

I have worked as a care home NHS consultant for just short of 20 years. Having to find a care home for my dear dad during the pandemic was heartbreaking. Dad moved into Ashfields January 2021 and passed February 2022. I honestly cannot recommend this home enough. The manager and her team are just amazing and have person-centred care totally sorted. It was my dad’s home and his and our extended family. I can’t end without a cheers to the Activity Coordinator who is just outstanding in her activity provision and enabled so many photos of my dad smiling this past year. Thank you to you all.

From the moment our mum arrived at Ashfields in January 2021, we have been so grateful for the kindness, care, and compassion shown to mum on Poppy Suite. All the staff are amazing and I know that mum is well cared for. During the covid lockdowns, even though we couldn’t visit, video calls were arranged and we felt reassured mum was safe and receiving a high level of care. As soon as you walk through the door at Ashfields, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I can’t thank the staff at Ashfields enough and in particular the staff on Poppy Suite. Thank you for caring for mum so brilliantly.

My 93-year-old mother is in Ashfields Care Home and has now stopped eating altogether, the staff have been so fantastic towards her and have done everything they can to try to get her to eat again. Nothing at all is too much trouble for the staff. I am so glad we found a care home with so much kindness and compassion for my mother.

My mum was accepted into Ashfields Care Home on Christmas Eve 2021. Since then she has been taken great care of by the amazing staff and management at Ashfields. They are most sensitive to Mum's needs and also to my feelings and are always trying to give Mum the best care possible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ashfields to anyone.
