Ashfields care home comprises of three suites:

Bluebell suite is a dedicated 10 bed suite providing award winning palliative care for residents entering the final phase of life or with a life limiting condition. All rooms are singe ensuite, some with shower rooms. Most have patio doors onto a garden area. The suite has its own lounge and residents kitchenette.

Daffodil Suite is a 40 bed, ground floor suite providing care to complex and non complex nursing and residential residents. All rooms are singe ensuite most having shower rooms. Many rooms open to a series of courtyards, gardens and pretty landscaped paths which provide secure and sheltered outside space for your enjoyment. . The suite has a large lounge, small lounge and restaurant.

Poppy Suite is a 26 bed suite first floor providing care to residents with residential and nursing care needs. All rooms are single ensuite shower rooms. The suite has its own dining room and lounge.

All three suites have access to the phoenix bar, coffee shop and salon.

24-hour cover is provided by a qualified, experienced and committed care team specifically recruited for their sensitivity, dedication and professional expertise in this area of care.

Chefs provide fresh home-cooked food which is nutritionally balanced; special dietary requirements can be catered for. Meals can be eaten in the restaurant, dining room, coffee shop or residents can choose to dine in their own room.

Ashfields activity team provide a variety of activities individual and within groups covering seven days per week. The home has its own minibus so residents can enjoy trips out.

My father was admitted to hospital and needed to be discharged into a care setting. It was difficult at the time as due to covid you could not visit prospective care homes. Having researched online, checked CQC reports etc. I eventually spoke to an ex-work colleague who's mother was at Ashfields. Her
recommendation could not have been better. I then contacted Ashfields myself and spoke to both the manager and the dementia suite manager. Both were excellent, highly professional, caring, understanding and very reassuring. My father was eventually discharged from hospital to Ashfields and I cannot be happier with the care he receives every day from the wonderful staff there. Covid has been awful for those in care homes (staff and residents) and their loved ones who have been restricted in visiting etc. Ashfields have always taken great care to look after my father and also to keep me informed and consider my feelings as well. I highly recommend Ashfields.

Our experience of Ashfields Forget Me Not unit and the team could not be better. My Dad struggles to communicate but the staff work hard to meet his needs. He is treated with respect and dignity, all of the staff know him and greet him by name regardless of which area they work in. Dad was in a different
home before and we see such a difference in the care of my Dad and also in the communication we have with the team. They go above and beyond expectations. Throughout the covid restrictions, such effort has been made to enable safe visiting where possible. We would not hesitate to recommend Ashfields to anyone.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole team at Ashfields. Every member of the Forget Me Not Dementia team makes sure that my mum is well cared for and the daily communication is great. The past few months have been difficult but the staff have posted videos and photos of mum and other residents
having a great time. It is a real comfort to know that they are as happy as they can be - thank you Ashfields! I just wanted to note that you are amazing and without your support, Mum wouldn't be as well as she is. From the cleaners to the carers, the cooks, the management and every member of support staff keep being positive, keep smiling and keep making everyone happy! You are all fantastic and we love the dancing, singing and warm hearts that help mum. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Keep being brilliant, as you have been throughout this time! After a fall and a stint in hospital my mother-in-law was transferred here to the Forget Me Not Dementia Suite. Our family cannot praise the place and especially the staff enough. Although we haven't been into the property due to Covid, my husband did have a visit where he stayed outside and spoke to
his mum on the phone so she could see him. We get regular updates and photos of events via a WhatsApp Family Group and if my mother-in-law needs anything then the staff pick up the phone and call. The food looks fabulous with a 4-week meal plan to view on the website, I think I'd like to move in myself! Thank you to all the staff, you all do an outstanding job under difficult circumstances at times.

I am pleased I chose Ashfields Care Home for my wife after having a few favourable reports where she is in the dementia unit, where the management and staff have been very helpful and friendly in settling her down with their cheerful attitude and patience.

Mum was only in Ashfields for three and a half weeks until she passed away, but in that time she was treated with kindness, care and dignity by all the wonderful staff. When me and Dad visited Mum we were always offered meals and refreshments and treated with kindness as well.
I would recommend Ashfields
without hesitation.

My mother went into Ashfield nursing home on 03/9/2019 till 24/09/2019 when she sadly passed away.
All the staff went above and beyond to care for her and very caring towards myself and my sister. The staff was very kind and treated my mother with great respect and understanding to her final days.

My husband has been at Ashfields Care Home for around 2 months. It is such a caring home, just like an extended family. He has server Vascular Dementia and cannot communicate well. The staff are getting to know him and look after him well. You are encouraged to visit anytime and always made to feel
welcome. So glad I found this home, as it gives you peace of mind, knowing your loved one is being well looked after.

My wife is a resident and she seems really happy and settled. The staff are always very friendly and caring. Rooms are well furnished. It has a very pleasant garden and a very well run cafe. After being forced into finding my mum a care home for end of life care, I visited a couple of places and realised I was going to find it difficult, that was until I found “Ashfields “. From the moment I entered the home, I knew I’d found the perfect place for My Mum.
It had a happy atmosphere it
was spotlessly clean. The staff were all very welcoming. The residents seemed happy and content.
Unfortunately, my mum didn’t experience Ashfields very long, but the way she was treated from day 1 was outstanding. The dignity, care, love and respect comes from each and every one of the hard working staff.
They go above and beyond.
I would never hesitate to recommend this lovely home to anyone who finds there self in my position

My mum had gone into Ashfields for respite due to her having bad legs but she decided that she wanted to stay permanently. The carers are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. If there is anything that my mum wants and they haven't got it then they will get it in for her.

My mother went into Ashfields in December 2018 and passed away January 2019. Although her stay was short the staff cared for Mum and us as a family with love and care. The staff were exemplary, exceeding expectations and went far and beyond professionalism. It is not just a job for the staff who work
there, they care. The owner should be very proud of his staff, from the cleaners up to the manager. Saying thank you does not seem enough, but a very big thank you all.

When you ‘hand over’ a precious person to someone else, a huge amount of trust is needed. I knew from the first day to the very last, Mum was going to have an amazing team beside her, making sure she would get the best of everything they could on all aspects of care.
Sometimes having to think outside
the box, to provide the high standard of care that they aspire to.
Every member of staff knew Mum so well, even on her most difficult of days, the love and determination to give that quality of life for her was paramount. Nothing was too much for anyone and if a problem occurred it was dealt with quickly, fairly and with compassion.
I always felt involved in Mum's new life and got to be her daughter again. Beautiful memories were made because the team recognise that the care they provide needs to be extended to the whole family, not just the one that is in the home.
Mum was cared for not taken care of.

My sister and I arranged to visit Ashfields after a personal recommendation. We did not need to look any further; our worries and concerns were allayed when we met the care home manager and her staff. We felt reassured that our mother would receive individualised care. Our mother was always cared for
with kindness respect and dignity despite her challenging behaviour. Her care plan was regularly reviewed; staff were wiling to try new strategies to promote the best possible standards of nursing care as well as offer mental and physical stimulation for her. As a health care professional of 30 years I was always impressed when the staff observed Mum's specific needs and interests. She often "helped" the administration team!
When our mother died recently, Ashfields kindly hosted us after her funeral. Staff who were not able to attend the service, came to pay their respects and share pictures and anecdotes, offering more comforting insights and reaffirmation that she was truly cared for.

Mam has been here 2 weeks now on palliative care. Everything is done to ensure that she is comfortable, although not eating or drinking if she wants something we only have to ask. The rooms are an adequate size with en-suite, lovely and warm. The staff are excellent in whatever role they perform. There's
a lovely little cafe where we can get a drink and cake.

My Grandmother was with Ashfield Care Home, Heanor from May 2018 until she passed away on July 3rd 2018.
The staff and nurses were 100% in giving my Grandma the best care and attention anyone could wish for a parent or grandparent.

It was my auntie's 100th birthday and the staff at the care home put a lot of thought and care into giving my aunt a memorable and appropriate occasion. She began the day with a bed shower and haircut. The residents gathered to sing Happy Birthday and to open her card from the queen. At lunch, they
had her favourite fish and chip meal. Afterwards, some children were invited to read some poems. In the afternoon the family gathered to spend some time with my aunt. We listened to more poems, visited by the Mayor and had a delicious tea. The staff were brilliant and did everything possible to give my aunt a wonderful day. Thank you!
