All the staff went above and beyond to care for her and very caring towards myself and my sister. The staff was very kind and treated my mother with great respect and understanding to her final days.
My husband has been at Ashfields Care Home for around 2 months. It is such a caring home, just like an extended family. He has server Vascular Dementia and cannot communicate well. The staff are getting to know him and look after him well. You are encouraged to visit anytime and always made to feel welcome. So glad I found this home, as it gives you peace of mind, knowing your loved one is being well looked after.
Thank you for your kind words. It is a pleasure. Your kind comments will be passed onto our wonderful staff team. Thank you.
My wife is a resident and she seems really happy and settled. The staff are always very friendly and caring. Rooms are well furnished. It has a very pleasant garden and a very well run cafe. The food served to residents is of a high quality. The new dementia only area is well catered for in terms of activities for residents.
It had a happy atmosphere it was spotlessly clean. The staff were all very welcoming. The residents seemed happy and content.
Unfortunately, my mum didn’t experience Ashfields very long, but the way she was treated from day 1 was outstanding. The dignity, care, love and respect comes from each and every one of the hard working staff.
They go above and beyond.
I would never hesitate to recommend this lovely home to anyone who finds there self in my position
Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments.
Excellent staff and premises. Clean and comfortable. Mothers day tea presented perfectly. We couldn't ask for more for our family to enjoy Mother's day. Thank you.
My mum had gone into Ashfields for respite due to her having bad legs but she decided that she wanted to stay permanently. The carers are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. If there is anything that my mum wants and they haven't got it then they will get it in for her.
My mother went into Ashfields in December 2018 and passed away January 2019. Although her stay was short the staff cared for Mum and us as a family with love and care. The staff were exemplary, exceeding expectations and went far and beyond professionalism. It is not just a job for the staff who work there, they care. The owner should be very proud of his staff, from the cleaners up to the manager. Saying thank you does not seem enough, but a very big thank you all.
When our mother died recently, Ashfields kindly hosted us after her funeral. Staff who were not able to attend the service, came to pay their respects and share pictures and anecdotes, offering more comforting insights and reaffirmation that she was truly cared for.
Sometimes having to think outside the box, to provide the high standard of care that they aspire to.
Every member of staff knew Mum so well, even on her most difficult of days, the love and determination to give that quality of life for her was paramount. Nothing was too much for anyone and if a problem occurred it was dealt with quickly, fairly and with compassion.
I always felt involved in Mum's new life and got to be her daughter again. Beautiful memories were made because the team recognise that the care they provide needs to be extended to the whole family, not just the one that is in the home.
Mum was cared for not taken care of.
Mam has been here 2 weeks now on palliative care. Everything is done to ensure that she is comfortable, although not eating or drinking if she wants something we only have to ask. The rooms are an adequate size with en-suite, lovely and warm. The staff are excellent in whatever role they perform. There's a lovely little cafe where we can get a drink and cake.
Thank you for your lovely review.
The staff and nurses were 100% in giving my Grandma the best care and attention anyone could wish for a parent or grandparent.
It was my auntie's 100th birthday and the staff at the care home put a lot of thought and care into giving my aunt a memorable and appropriate occasion. She began the day with a bed shower and haircut. The residents gathered to sing Happy Birthday and to open her card from the queen. At lunch, they had her favourite fish and chip meal. Afterwards, some children were invited to read some poems. In the afternoon the family gathered to spend some time with my aunt. We listened to more poems, visited by the Mayor and had a delicious tea. The staff were brilliant and did everything possible to give my aunt a wonderful day. Thank you!
My friend has recently had a period of respite care at Ashfields care home after a short stay in hospital. With the care and support she has been able to return to home. She enjoyed it so much she would like to return for Christmas.
The care and attention she has received since then has been superb.
The party celebration for her birthday was wonderful from start to finish.
My mother's comments were "It has been one of the best days of my life". She does not suffer from Dementia and for her to say that I feel is the best accolade Ashfields could have.
We as a family are thankful that she is in such a wonderful place.
Dad was transferred from hospital to Ashfields for palliative care, unfortunately, he was only there a few days before he sadly passed away. He was treated with great dignity and care by a very dedicated team of nursing staff and carers, nothing was too much trouble. Family that visited him were also treated with much compassion and understanding. Ashfields is a very clean and bright place, the individual bedrooms were light and airy.
I have been visiting relatives and friends in this home for over seven years and found everyone and the care very good. So much so that I recommended this place often and I myself feel at home when visiting and would ask to stay here if it becomes necessary.
I cannot fault the professional and compassionate care my wife and I received during her terminal care at Ashfields Care Home.
Great support from a very caring team.
Thank you for your review and positive comments.
I have had 3 relatives resident at Ashfields, my Mother and Father-in-law and my Dad. We moved Dad to Ashfields having seen the excellent care for my in-laws. The Nursing and care staff were wonderful and looked after all three with dignity, patience, care and compassion, that I haven’t experienced anywhere else. Nothing was ever too much trouble, even if they were busy. They took the time to get to know each of them personally and always wanted the best for them. The activity coordinators are brilliant, putting so much energy and enthusiasm into creating activities that are relevant, imaginative and appropriate to the Residents. The staff cared for us as relatives too, particularly during their end of life care. It made a difficult time so much easier. The Manager and the office staff are all just as involved with the residents as the carers, which made it feel like you were part of a family. Ashfields is a unique and very special care home which I would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your fantastic comments it's been an absolute pleasure.
Our father had a fall in another home resulting in him going into hospital with a fracture. He had a number of serious illnesses. We were told dad had limited time left and was told that we needed to find a nursing home. By word of mouth, we were told about Ashfields Care Home. This nursing home took in dad and thank god they did. We did not want him going back to the previous home. From day one this home was warm, friendly and all the staff are warm and friendly. We just wish dad had been there from April 2017. This nursing home should be a flagship to CQC.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Jayne. We think we are a special home, but it is always nice to have it confirmed by someone like yourself, then we know we are getting things right for all our lovely residents. Please come and see us anytime.
In her final days they helped us so much, emotionally and physically, they couldn’t do enough for us.
I would highly recommend Ashfields to anyone looking to put their loved ones in a trusted place...I cannot thank them enough for their amazing care and warmth.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure caring for your Grandma. Everyone will miss your Grandma and your family so much.
