Ashfields care home comprises of three suites:

Bluebell suite is a dedicated 10 bed suite providing award winning palliative care for residents entering the final phase of life or with a life limiting condition. All rooms are singe ensuite, some with shower rooms. Most have patio doors onto a garden area. The suite has its own lounge and residents kitchenette.

Daffodil Suite is a 40 bed, ground floor suite providing care to complex and non complex nursing and residential residents. All rooms are singe ensuite most having shower rooms. Many rooms open to a series of courtyards, gardens and pretty landscaped paths which provide secure and sheltered outside space for your enjoyment. . The suite has a large lounge, small lounge and restaurant.

Poppy Suite is a 26 bed suite first floor providing care to residents with residential and nursing care needs. All rooms are single ensuite shower rooms. The suite has its own dining room and lounge.

All three suites have access to the phoenix bar, coffee shop and salon.

24-hour cover is provided by a qualified, experienced and committed care team specifically recruited for their sensitivity, dedication and professional expertise in this area of care.

Chefs provide fresh home-cooked food which is nutritionally balanced; special dietary requirements can be catered for. Meals can be eaten in the restaurant, dining room, coffee shop or residents can choose to dine in their own room.

Ashfields activity team provide a variety of activities individual and within groups covering seven days per week. The home has its own minibus so residents can enjoy trips out.

My mum was a resident at Ashfields Care Home for the last 7 months of her life. Her care was excellent, always being reviewed and updated to her changing needs. The home uses electronic notes, each member of staff has a hand held device to update as they administer care. This is an amazing tool which
can show instantly what the resident has eaten, drank etc. I feel Ashfields Care Home is professional in all aspects of care and management of residents and their families.

Everyone looks after my wife as if it was their own family. They made the room like it was home. They asked every visitor if they would like a drink or anything else. The care was first class and made certain my wife was comfortable and had everything she asked for. The staff did not moan about anything
they were asked to do. An excellent nursing home.

My experience of Ashfields Care Home has been very good and myself and friends together with family members have nothing but praise for the dedicated staff. Ashfields is very welcoming and has a homely atmosphere. The rooms are cleaned are decorated to a high standard. The courtyard gardens and main
entrance gardens are maintained at this time of the year are full of colour and have plenty of secluded seating area. Plenty of activities are run throughout the week attended by residents on a voluntary basis.
Ashfields is a little community into which dad settled very well.

Ashfields is always clean, there are no odours associated with some care homes. The staff pop in to check on residents regularly and always offer tea/coffee.
I always recommend Ashfields if asked by my clients, as the standards and staff always fo the extra mile to ensure residents are comfortable

The team of carers who look after my wife are excellent - patient and understanding, clearly dedicated to their residents and willing to "go the extra mile" for the residents and families.
Management techniques are modern and made use of digital/computerised systems of recording and back-up. Releasing
my wife into care was difficult, but I now accept that I cannot complete with the care and attention she is receiving at Ashfields.

My Father-in-law was bed bound. He could hardly talk due to throat cancer in the 90's, he had a brain tumour which was growing rapidly but inoperable and also prostate cancer. He was checked on every two hours, he was assisted with meals and drinks and he loved coca cola!
The home was a lovely place,
they were very welcoming to us, always had a smile, very kind to me, offering drinks and sandwiches. Towards the end of his life, they had someone in the room with him until we got there. He has been in several homes but this was the best by a mile.

Ashfields is excellent. I couldn't find a better place for my wife, The staff look after her very well and they look after me when I visit. I have a cup of tea as soon as I arrive. My wife received high quality care and is very happy. If my wife is having a bad night the carers sit with her and comfort
her. When I was ill for 3 months, the home arranged for my wife to ring me on a regular basis.

My mother has received very good care and the staff have been very helpful attentive and welcoming. The only criticisms I would wish to declare is that on one particular Sunday the care home was very understaffed and Ashfields Care Home mother had buzzed several times for toileting. This also happened
a couple of times in the week and although my mother should be non weight bearing on her plastered ankle, she made an attempt to go to the toilet herself, unable to wait any longer.

You have helped my mum so much in these last few moments of her life. The house is beautiful, the staff attentive. They made us feel welcome to spend as much time with mum as we needed, even during the night.

Since mum has moved into Ashfields she has been well taken care of and her health has improved greatly. The staff are excellent and really friendly, they always take time to chat and listen to mum when she is in need of company or help. The meals are good and the residents can go to the dining room
or have it served in their rooms if they prefer. The activities co-ordinator is really excellent, and organises plenty of games and activities to stimulate their interest. I would recommend Ashfields to anyone for care for any member of the family.

Barbara has a very important role at Ashfields as she works alongside Management, Residents/Residents Families and Staff very closely.
