After a crisis situation I needed to find urgent flexible day care for my husband close to home and Boultham Park House provided this.
He had the time of his life and is very keen to go again.
He loved the food and even had a beer in the afternoon.
All the staff were lovely to us both and I have future booked two days a week for him.
All home comforts.

Would certainly recommend

My friend has been in Boultham Park house for 2 months now. All I can say is it is a beautiful home with wonderful staff, who make sure their residents have everything they need. Everywhere is immaculately clean. I haven't eaten there but my friend says the food is excellent. I think Boultham Park house is more like a hotel for ladies and gentlemen who deserve to be looked after with no worries in their later lives with wonderful staff and a beautiful home

I enjoy being at Boultham as I could not cope at home. Being here I have company and people to talk to. Also I don't have any washing of clothes or cooking to do. I sometimes worry about lunch and dinner time in case it is something I do not like. However if that happens the kitchen staff normally five a different option.

Happy cheerful staff, treated well.
Not enough toilets.

To many sprays for cleaning used with scents (you can buy unscented cleaning goods)

Overall Experience
We moved Margaret into home in may 2025, she has ongoing dementia,
Although her room is small , Margaret has settled in the home better than we expected.
The staff at the home are very good with her and enjoys the entertainment provided by the home team.
We believe Margaret is being well looked after by the home team.
Margaret is happy with the service she receives in food and cleaning her room and clothes.
As with dementia the feedback we get from her is often poor but we can tell her health and general mental issues are not bothering her.
In the summer the garden is a pleasent place to sit and talk with Margaret, it's more difficult in the winter to find space to talk alone with her

Overall we are pleased we place Margaret in the home and she has a good relationship with all the staff.

Boultham Park House care home has been looking after my mother for nearly 2 years. She is 91 years old and suffers from dementia, the care she receives is excellent in all respects, from when she wakes up to when she goes to bed. The staff could not be anymore caring, my sister and myself are happy that our mother is being well looked after.

My review could relate to any period in which my mother has received care at Boultham Park House In Lincoln and not just December 2025 - though the Christmas Party was good fun.

My overall rating would be first class as always; this is based on the quality and cleanliness of the home itself, my confidence in their ability to look after my mother in the best possible way and also on the management and staff in the home who I would say are excellent. Special mention to the manager Jo who sets the right tone and standards for Boultham Park House.

As a partial wheelchair user myself and after losing my dad 3 months ago, I looked at many care homes and Boultham Park stood out head & shoulders above the rest, and totally lived up to that for my mums stay it was a real "home from home" with staff treating my mum as if she were their own care wise. It really was outstanding. The only comment or something to build on would be that rooms aren't huge an dont have their own toilet but none of this really matters when everything else is so special & caring. Thank you so much to all of the staff for their exceptional care xxxx

From the start of my uncle's stay to the end, we found genuine care, patience and support.
First-class provision and motivated, well-trained staff who quickly became my uncle's friends.

Should we have need of a home from home again, we wouldn't go anywhere else!

My mum has been receiving respite care since November 2023, having previously spent 4 weeks in another home. She settled immediately, tells me she feels safe and secure and has taken part in lots of activities that put my social calendar to shame! The staff are friendly, engaging and genuinely caring. Thank you!

Joanne Johnson
Joanne JohnsonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2003

Joanne Johnson is the Home Manager at The Orders of St John Care Home, Boultham Park in Lincoln.

Joanne has worked in the care industry for the last twenty-two years, the last fifteen being with The Orders of St John Care Trust. She began my career initially as a Carer, working both days & nights before then being promoted to Care Leader, which gave Joanne the necessary leadership skills to become Head of Care and more recently Home Manager.

As Joanne has developed personally in each role, that passion has never left her and now as the Home manager, she still gets a real satisfaction from engaging with the Residents and helping where she can.

Since working in the industry, Joanne has achieved NVQ Level 2&3 in Health and Social care, Level 3 in effective Management. Jo is a medication champion for the Trust, and an appointed First Aider, who is working towards her level 5 management award.

In 2016, Joanne was presented with a chairman’s commendation for meritorious service which she is extremely proud of.

Every day is different in the life of the care home, usually very busy, but managed effectively by prioritising tasks. Jo has a very approachable nature and has an open-door policy enabling all colleagues, residents and visitors to feel they are able to talk to her.

Joanne’s passion for care of the elderly developed at a young age, having a close relationship with her Grandparents and taking her Grandfather to visit his friends in a variety of care providers, she soon realised that she wanted to support individuals and make a difference where she could.

When not at work, I enjoy foreign travel, socialising, dining out, reading and spending quality time with my husband Richard and my much-loved dog Ollie.
