St John's Care Home is situated in the quiet market town of Spalding. The home has spacious dining rooms, lounges and a mature garden. The care home has a warm, friendly atmosphere with a dedicated team of care staff.

Chef Managers cook a variety of nutritious and tasty meals to provide residents with appealing daily menus which are updated regularly. Special dietary requirements are catered for.

Residents are encouraged and supported by the well-being and activities champions to continue to enjoy their interests and hobbies. From gardening and flower arranging to arts, crafts and games there is always something for residents to join in with should they wish to.

My mother has been a resident since 30th December. She is a very independent woman who likes her own company and it has been a worry as to how she would settle. It would appear that she is beginning to settle. This in my opinion because of the quality of the premises and the very caring staff. Since
she has been at St John's Care Home I have met a lot of the staff and from the manager, to all the carers I have to say they do a wonderful job under very difficult circumstances.

My grandparent is very happy in this home. They get days out and take part in many activities. The actual home is mainly in a good condition and rooms are light and airy. The downstairs lounge floor is looking tired and some rooms you pass in the corridor smell of urine, which in the past I've never
smelt. The upstairs lounge is far nicer. Staff and family are invited to many events which is lovely. My only problem is that the receptionist has a few times ignored us trying to get into the building, as she was busy talking to someone else. This is really annoying when she can clearly see us at the door, ringing the bell! Care staff have let us in even though she is at her desk ... sometimes I like to nip in the home on my lunch hour for a quick visit but spend ages trying to get in.

I do not have access to the care home as much as I would like due to no transport, therefore, I have no comments. Apart from when I am called to the hospital after yet another accident, I do not see my family member very often. The staff do not always inform me of any problems. As I am next of kin.
I feel somewhat pushed out. This could be improved.

Staff are always friendly and efficient and try their best in a sometimes difficult environment. No one wants their loved one to go into care but this establishment is a safe and secure and friendly second best to home life.

It's sad to see my grandfather as he is but knowing and witnessing him happy, warm and well cared for makes it all that much easier.

Any family with experience of caring for an elderly relative will know how difficult it can be,

My Father has been a resident for 20 months. All the staff and management team should be highly commended.
The care and support for an elderly person is a difficult task for any family to deal with and St Johns have removed the worry and stresses this can cause.
All the elderly residents we have witnessed
at St John's are treated with respect and their individual needs catered for.
It's great to know my father is in safe hands.

On the whole, I'm very pleased with the care my mother receives at St John's Care Home. Occasionally there is an episode which raises concern but that is due more to possessions and personal items than care and attention of my mother. I know she is well fed and cared for and that is most important.

My mother has received good care from the St John's Care Home and has received very responsive care when it has been needed. I have also been very happy to have had excellent communication between myself and the facility which is very important to me as I live half way around the world and cannot visit
my mother on any regular basis. It is very comforting to me to have them keep me well informed when needed. I have even received photos and videos of Mum's birthday and Christmas celebrations at the home so I can see firsthand how she has spent her day at these celebratory times in her life.
I am comforted by St Johns' care of my mother and can rest easy knowing she is in good care.

The Staff at St John's Care Home go above & beyond what is expected of them, they are all very helpful, friendly, approachable and kind. I was very apprehensive when my Mother had to move to a care home, but I have no worries now, she has been at St John's since April 2016 and just recently my stepfather
who was also a resident, sadly passed away, the staff could not have been more caring and supportive through this very difficult time.

My friend entered your establishment on 9th June from the hospital and was examined by your doctor and placed on "end of life" treatment and as such a very confused old lady was treated with gentle rest and compassion. In the 5 months she took to pass away my wife and I visited him 2/3 times a week
and were always treated with kindness from management and staff. My friend's care and compassion was of the best! The home is run very well its standard of cleanliness is above reproach, as an eighty-six year old if needed I would wish to end up with you.

My mother was in St John's for 14 weeks, initially in an IL basis. She was in a leg brace and could not have managed at home. The care she received from both the home and the Independent Living Team was excellent. My only suggestion would be, it would be beneficial to those in her position to have
a small lounge/sitting room where tea/coffee could be made and be able to socialise for those without dementia. If all care homes were run like St John's there would be no need to worry about the care of our elderly population. Well done to all the staff, keep up the good work.

A very friendly, caring and professional residential home. From what I have seen nothing is too much trouble for the staff who always make time for residents and relatives alike. The accommodation is immaculate and I have no concerns about my mother being kept clean and tidy too. Activities are good
and the food is also. I like the addition of a set weekly menu. Keep up the good work and standards St Johns.

I had a lovely room and was made welcome on arrival. All the staff and manager were helpful. I was treated with dignity and my wishes were respected. There was a good choice of food at mealtimes and the activities were interesting and enjoyable.
