The first time I met Nicola (Manager) and Karen (Deputy Manager) they were so kind, caring and patient. Although my Dad is 95 this was still a difficult decision to make, but they immediately put me at ease. Their attitude and approach is mirrored by the amazing team who look after him. My Dad has only been at Westlands for 2 weeks but he has settled so well and the change in him is nothing short of astounding, all thanks to the love and care he is receiving. From the staff who look after him during the day and night, to the Pink Ladies who work tirelessly to make sure residents are entertained during the day, to the staff in the kitchen making delicious home cooked meals, to the maintenance man who always takes the time to interact with the residents and to the laundry staff and cleaners who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for making this transition easier than I expected. Thank you all for everything.

My father-in-law was discharged from hospital to Westlands Care Home after 24 hour care was deemed the most appropriate path forward to meet his needs. Since being at the care home, he seems to have settled quickly. He is brighter in himself and his quality of life has definitely improved. The staff are all amazing. Very welcoming and keep us involved in regards to my father-in-law's care needs.

We recently moved dad to Westlands from a local nursing home. The manager, Nicola and Deputy, Karen, and their staff are positive, calm and assured and so helpful. You could see dad relaxing into his new home. The home is very tastefully decorated, the bedrooms are good, the food is homemade, and dad has enjoyed the variety of activities, and the choice of lounges and quiet areas too. There is the opportunity to enjoy the courtyard garden too - which is great.

Overall Experience
Westlands Care home is such a lovely warm and friendly place - Nicola, Chrissy and the whole team are so supportive of the residents and always focused on providing the best experience for the residents. My mother has dementia and is confused about a lot of things, but she is always crystal clear about her care - 'The food is good, the staff look after me - I have no complaints' (her words, not mine) It was a frightening task to take responsibility for putting my mum in a residential care setting, but Nicola put my mind at rest from the outset - my mum is very settled after a year at Westlands.

Westlands organise lots of activities and I love seeing what my mum had been up to on Facebook. These activities are balanced with quieter times which my mother needs for reflection and introspection. The staff have always been supportive and helpful - whether it is getting mum ready for a trip out, or organising a space for me to bring in coffee or a take-away meal. Highly recommended!

Westlands Care Home is a a happy home where everyone knows everyone else. Its friendly and care is thoughtful and professional. The food is homemade on site and is served in the dining room, which I think is important for wellbeing and self respect. They make a lovely cuppa for visitors.

The staff are polite and courteous and will bring my mother to us in the lounge, we are always offered a drink and my mother likes the way she is treated. Whenever I ask her if she needs anything she always says no as she is well fed and looked after. I have no problem with recommending Westlands and would be happy to go there myself.

Always a warm welcome, people treated with dignity and empathy. Lots of activities going on every day. Dad seems very settled and happy. Food Dad says is good and is encouraged to keep his fluids up which is good for his overall health. Staff always keep us informed on how Dad is doing which puts our mind at ease. A big thank you to all the staff.

My mum was so settled and relaxed after just 24 hours at Westlands. The manager and her team are excellent. Always happy and smiling. The care, happiness and well being of the residents is clearly the number one priority at Westlands. The daily activities stimulate mum and make her laugh and smile. Mum has regained her appetite and is far more alert. I am 100% confident that mum is in safe hands and will be well cared for. Superb!

Staff are kind and caring.
Willing to listen to requested needs of the resident.

Management and staff available to residents family.

Have not seen food/drink but resident comments positively.

Not always aware of what activities are on offer but resident enjoys them as comment on them. Clothing an issue, not always in own clothes, despite being labelled.
