Sutton Court Residential Home has a relaxing atmosphere that is also ideal for quality care to be practiced, suited to each individual.

It sits in beautiful landscaped gardens and also has an enclosed inner courtyard that has been specifically designed for relaxation where residents and families can enjoy peace and security.

Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible but assisted where difficulties occur, ensuring privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

Ashmere Nottinghamshire are offering all long term residents an opportunity to design their own bedroom. A show bedroom is located on the first floor of at Sutton Court where residents are able to view a wide range of carpets, paints, soft furnishings, fabrics and furniture which are available for them to choose from should they decide to take a room in one of their Nottinghamshire homes on a long term basis.

I am so grateful to all the staff at this home. My mamma is so well looked after day-in-day-out. We couldn't wish for her to be in a better place. My Aunty was in Sutton Court for 1 year, 1 month and in all that time she was very well looked after. It was just like a family. She had friends and the girls and boys as I call them were so loving to her and ti was first class in cleanliness. Very safe and value for money.

My mother lived in Sutton Court for five years. At all times, she was well looked after by caring staff who always had time to have a laugh with her. During the last two weeks of her life, she became unwell. I was impressed by how gentle and caring the staff were. They treated her as kindly as if she
were one of their own relatives. Thank you so much. It was much more attentive care than if my mum had been in hospital.

The care received at Sutton Court Residential Home is very professional in identifying that when my mother went in for respite care, that social services were not meeting my mother's needs adequately. I attend the lunch club every week. The staff are very kind and considerate. We have a hot drink when we arrive. The lunch and putting are always really nice. We also have a raffle and bingo, then a drink and cake before leaving. Everyone loves coming and it is so friendly.

Mum has been a resident for 1 year now. Her special dietary needs are met without fail and the food is perfect for her. She is always well dressed, with her hair and nails attended to and her clothes are clean and matched with care and attention. I have seen staff show wonderful care and compassion
to residents, holding their hands and even a dance! Any medical concerns have received immediate attention and swift referral to the GP. Management is very approachable and well organised, inspiring confidence for the family I know my mum is in safe, caring hands.

Mum suffers from dementia and came here for daycare for a long time before moving in full time. She feels comfortable here, as all the staff and surroundings are familiar.


The staff are lovely, and the rooms very well furnished. Also everywhere always smells fresh and clean.


Mum especially enjoys

the activities and musical afternoons. Also there is a very pretty courtyard garden with rabbits and guinea pigs and birds.

My mother has now been in Sutton Court Residential Home for 12 months, over this period whatever issues/problems have arisen these have been dealt with promptly by the staff. I cannot thank the carers enough for the hard work and dedication given to residents. Management should take on board all comments

Staff are always on hand if you have any queries they have all time to keep you up to date with mum's issues. Mum was made to feel welcome from the minute she arrived. All the staff are so happy and cheerful all the time and work well together. I was concerned leaving Mum. She is non-weight bearing and was dependent on the staff for everything. I quickly realised we didn't need to worry. They have always
been there every time she has needed assistance and nothing is too much trouble for them. As a family, we too have been welcomed and offered drinks whilst visiting. Thank you to you all, you really are fantastic!

My mum was placed in Sutton Court straight from hospital to be assessed for between 4-6 week to see if she was capable of returning home. Mum's 6 weeks is up now and in our opinion, she's not ready to go home, so myself and brother have decided to let her stop in Sutton Court. Since she has been here,
the staff have been amazing with her. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. If you need any assistance, someone is there straight away. We dealt with the manager and her assistant and they were absolutely fantastic. They put our minds at ease straight away. My mum has settled in now and we hope is enjoying all the activities provided for everyone by the staff. Thank you, everyone, at Sutton Court for making a very hard decision a very easy one.

Paula Jefford

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2000

Paula has worked for Ashmere for over 20 years and has been promoted through the ranks. She is the most highly qualified manager within the group having achieved her social care level 7. Paula has also achieved the converted Dementia Quality Mark at Sutton Court.


She has managed two of the homes on the Nottinghamshire site and was promoted in 2021 to be the manager of Sutton Court (the biggest of the Ashmere Homes).
