Sutton Court Residential Home has a relaxing atmosphere that is also ideal for quality care to be practiced, suited to each individual.

It sits in beautiful landscaped gardens and also has an enclosed inner courtyard that has been specifically designed for relaxation where residents and families can enjoy peace and security.

Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible but assisted where difficulties occur, ensuring privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

Ashmere Nottinghamshire are offering all long term residents an opportunity to design their own bedroom. A show bedroom is located on the first floor of at Sutton Court where residents are able to view a wide range of carpets, paints, soft furnishings, fabrics and furniture which are available for them to choose from should they decide to take a room in one of their Nottinghamshire homes on a long term basis.

Though it is upsetting to see my grandma this way, she seems and often comments how friendly everyone is here, that is also my experience. She is happy and well looked after. The staff are lovely and make a fuss of her which makes her smile. They have lots of activities and facilities including a lovely
outside area. Her room is very nice and clean. Even though she is not a permanent resident she is treated the same as one which is nice. The food looks good and she has always enjoyed it she tells me. If she has to be cared for residentially, I am glad it is here.

In view of how busy the staff are under extreme pressure, they all did a very good and helpful service to me and looked after me. Food very good.

This was an ideal experience between hospital and home. It was an excellent time for all parties to be organised and ready. I found all areas of the Court were welcoming to everyone. Both NHS and long term people integrated quickly.
There were plenty of activities to join in.
The only comment I would
make is that food portions could be a bit smaller!!
I feel much more capable for going home now and ready to cope.

Most of the time food was very good.
The staff need more training as to how the patient feels on that day. With some illnesses, the patient has good days and very bad days. Not quite able to cope.

I can't explain how good this care home is. All staff are polite and very helpful, meals are out of this world and it is pet-friendly - I could bring mum's dog in if I needed to. Rooms are excellent and beautifully cleaned daily. There is a swimming pool I could use if I wanted to with my family.
If I needed to come into a nursing home I would happily come to Sutton Court for the rest of my living years.

We have found all members of the staff excellent, friendly and very caring. They keep the standards very high. I found this very reassuring when we needed it. They work together as a good team. It's more like a big family. Nothing was too much trouble for them regarding my mother.

My mum has been in here for a few months now and she is doing really well. She has put on weight and hasn't fallen in the time she has been there which she had done a lot before. The staff are all lovely. The food is always good and the care also. Very good as she has found somewhere so good.

I had been in hospital for 12 weeks became very depressed and tearful. I came to Sutton Court three weeks ago. I am very happy, love the staff and residents. I feel my life beginning again I couldn't wish for a better place it's like home but better. The food is great with plenty of choices, my bedroom
is lovely and clean all the home is clean. I love waking up and hearing the birds whistling. I would like to thank Sutton Court for giving me a life.

Paula Jefford

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2000

Paula has worked for Ashmere for over 20 years and has been promoted through the ranks. She is the most highly qualified manager within the group having achieved her social care level 7. Paula has also achieved the converted Dementia Quality Mark at Sutton Court.


She has managed two of the homes on the Nottinghamshire site and was promoted in 2021 to be the manager of Sutton Court (the biggest of the Ashmere Homes).
