My nannan is currently at Westwood and has has been living their since 2022. All the staff have been amazing, helped my nannan settle, making memories and living her life to the fullest. (Better way of life). The management team, manager and deputy go up and beyond to help and not only to support my nannan but us as a family. We are so great full for all they have done
Thankyou so very much for your amazing review, it is an absolute privilege to care for your nannan, she is such a beautiful person inside and out with a lovely family, thankyou for all of your support
I visited my old friend (PP), and it was really nice to see how happy she was. Pat was telling me that she goes to feed birds and fills up her bird feeders everyday with reception staff and Claire. I just want to say thank you for all that you do, animals & wildlife have always been important to her.
Thankyou for your positive review, we love supporting Pat with her passion
After making the very difficult decision to put mum into full time care due to dementia - we needn't have worried. From the first day she went in in July 2024 to now mum has received the very best care at Westwood. All of the staff are fantastic from management, carers and support staff, caretakers, chefs: Nothing is too much trouble. We as a family are very grateful for the care she receives. Would highly recommended Westwood! Can't thank all involved enough - brilliant!
When ever you have a concern they always do their best to resolve it - never a problem for them. A care plan in the residents room would be helpful so all staff can see care needs whilst caring for the person so things don't get missed. Always new and interesting activities happening for everyone. More care could be taken with the laundry sometimes to try and prevent things going missing. They have some very caring staff and greatly appreciate their work. Consistent staff on the same unit would help.
Thankyou for your review, we always enjoy you visiting and brightening our day. Just to reassure, care staff have access to care plans through the PCS devices which are on their person throughout the shift. We do try our best regarding the laundry and are always open to any suggestions as this is...
The staff have been good looking after my mum. The food has been excellent and varied. The most important thing has been the way the home has settled mum in her new environment.
Thankyou for you feed back, there are obviously areas that you feel could be improved we would be more than happy to discuss these with you
Enjoy being here staff are wonderful. Food is good. Enjoy going on trips.
This means the world to us, we are so pleased that you are happy living with us. You are a lovely member of our family, we all enjoy our chats with you and having a good old laugh :)
Carole, my wife, came to Westwood with Alzheimer's, as I could no longer care for her at home. Best decision ever! From day one, she has been cared for with love and affection by all the staff - from the Manager down to the Caretaker - wonderful. Never heard a harsh word and I leave knowing she is in good hands. This is echoed by my 3 daughters and all the family and friends who visit. Deserves Excellent Plus in all departments.
We feel very lucky that you chose Westwood, the support you give both your wife and our home is amazing and very much appreciated. You and your girls could not do more, and you always brighten the home when visiting.
Westwood care home are so dedicated to their residents from the management down to the cleaners. Nothing to to much trouble. The activities they offer are fantastic. Love joining in. Staff are very informative with any needs my mother-inlaw may have 5* all the way. The food is amazing - always made to feel welcome.
Thankyou so much Tracey, we are very lucky to care for mum, and to get to know you and your family. The support you give the team and the home is very much appreciated

My mum has been a resident at Westwood for 18 months now and has been treated with nothing but care and dignity from the off. They took time to learn about my mums personality and behaviours and the carers that look after my mum on a daily basis couldn't be nicer. The activity plan that Westwood put on is great and everyone from the manage of the home to the chef and maintenance man are all caring and compassionate and go above and beyond to look after everyone.
Thankyou so much for your lovely comments Michelle, you are an amazing family and the support you give to us is very much appreciated
The facilities and the activities that were made available were absolutely brilliant and this was ever present in all the lovely smiles on the residents faces when they went to them. Each member of staff knew every single resident by their name and always extremely kind, caring, compassionate and respectful to all the residents ensuring that they are all happy and the staff always had a smile on their face. All the staff was so very helpful to us & guided us through each stage. We can't thank you enoughx
Sharon, where do we start? On behalf of all the team I would like to thank you and Lee for the amazing support you have given to us all here and for always being mums rock, you welcomed us all in as part of your family and we are honoured to now be close friends. Really happy with all aspects of dad's care at Westwood. Everyone is so kind and caring, a really happy environment for dad to live in. He's always so happy and smiley so glad we chose Westwood for dad's care!. Can't fault anything about the place. Well done everybody.
Thankyou very much for lovely review, yourself and dad bring us plenty of smiles :) and are a very welcomed addition to our Westwood family
Ann has settled in really well. She said she has great friends (carers). Her eating has improved and always look well looked after. We have no issues with anything and are happy with the care and attention she receives. The staff all go above and beyond for her and couldn't wish for a better home for Ann. The entertainment and food is also excellent.
Thankyou so much for your lovely review it really does mean so much to us all here, we feel privilege to care for Ann and to get to make friends with her lovely family
The decision to put a parent into a care home is a tough one. We visited Westwood and instantly knew it was the one. Westwood allowed us to continue to be our mums children and gave our mum fabulous quality of life. Her dementia meant she needed care and love and she had it in abundance. She maintained her own independence as long as she could and as things got harder for her the care just stepped up naturally with no need for anyone to be asked. She was treated like a member of a truly superb family, and what's more so were we. Our mum loved where she lived and loved the people who looked after her. Nothing was ever to much trouble and her needs were always met. It was fun, caring and immensely loving. Activities were plentiful and every single person knew and respected her wants and needs. When I say everyone I mean everyone, carers, cleaners, cooks, the whole team. As a family we were welcomed, and we attended many events. A truly wonderful place to live and team to be surrounded by
Thankyou so very much for your amazing words Lee, getting to know mum, yourself and family was an absolutely pleasure and honour and I know we will all remain dear friends. On behalf of everyone here I would like to sincerely thank you all for being mums rock and a fabulous support to us all here and our home
My experience with Westwood is absolutely fantastic. The manager and Deputy Manager are supportive; they go out of their way to accommodate any issues. The care staff are very caring and come and talk to me. I would highly recommend Westwood Care Home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, it is an absolute pleasure caring for mum and spending time with you and your family
A wise decision for mum she has settled so well. Staff members are amazing very caring, compassionate. Manager very professional, exceptional staff team all thanks to the 'Great Manager'. I would highly recommend Westwood. The home is like home from home. Great activities etc. A fabulous care home for your nearest and dearest!
Thank you so much for your amazing review, this really means so much to me and all of the team, we are so lucky to meet so many amazing people
Westwood Care Home is an amazing place for seniors. My mother has someone to care for her 24 hours a day here, which gives peace of mind to the family. She is not only cared for. The home goes over and above in entertaining their residents, and meeting all their needs
Thankyou so much for your kind words, we really feel privileged to be able to care for mum and to spend time with you both, you really are an amazing family
Dad moved into Westwood Care Home in September - it has taken a while for him to settle and he has been challenging at times. The staff at the home have been so supportive with dad - trying to find ways to help him settle in, which has been successful. The support they give to Mum and the family is amazing and so appreciated. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff from the front desk up to Dad's unit. Two staff members in particular always check in with us when we visit no matter how busy they are, The carers are so kind and caring. We have only had a few months experience but as a family we all agree this place is the right place for Dad. We can leave him knowing he is safe but more importantly he is cared for as are we.
Thank you so much for your amazing review, we are so pleased Dad is settling, thank you so much for all the support you have given Westwood and all the staff with helping Dad feel at home. It is always a pleasure to see you on your visits
Always great care, fab theme nights and lovely menus. My mum has thrived since she came here and from me nearly losing her she's now healthy and happy. I can't thank them enough.
Thank you for your amazing review, we are so happy that Mum is settled and doing well, you really are such a lovely family.
Enjoying the regular meals and structure to the day. The home tailors the events to make it better for the patients involved and that should continue. She has put her weight back on and made new friends. All carers made her feel safe and welcome and always check on her regularly. Nice and caring environment.
Thank you so much for this brilliant review Dylan, we look forward to hopefully seeing you at our Night of Indian Cuisine.

Meet the Team (6)

Welcome to Westwood. My name is Claire, and I am the Home Manager. I joined Runwood Homes in 2012 as a Care Assistant to embark on a new challenge; to make a difference to the lives of others. Now, as the Manager of Westwood, I am still so passionate about supporting our older generation, listening to their life histories and achievements, and simply being there to make them smile. I feel extremely privileged to be a part of people’s lives. At Westwood, we strive for our residents to live later life with enjoyment, happiness and support. We welcome you to visit us or contact us to find out more.

I joined the team here at Westwood in 2012 as a care assistant. I instantly became a fond member of the team and have worked hard to progress in my career, most recently achieving a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Leadership. I was promoted from care assistant to care team leader, then to Deputy Manager almost three years ago. I continue to thrive at Westwood; residents, family members, professionals, and staff all feel comfortable communicating and speak very highly of me.

I joined the team 5 years ago and have worked in the health and social care sector for many years. I have a wealth of knowledge in maintenance, health and safety, and compliance. I feel I am a valued member of the team and am always happy to help.

Nichola joined Westwood in 2018 as a domestic assistant; she instantly became a strong member of the team. Within 10 months she was promoted to Head Housekeeper and now supports a team of domestic assistants, ensuring our home remains clean, well-presented, and homely. Nichola is also the Infection Prevention Control Champion here at Westwood and takes great pride in our environment.

I joined the team here at Westwood in 2015 as a night care assistant; I progressed to night care team leader before choosing to join the front-of-house team as the home's Receptionist. I welcome all with a smile and am always happy to help.

I have been working at Westwood as the Homes Administrator for 23 years. My knowledge and expertise are of great value to the home; I feel a vital part of our team and a welcoming face at the front of the house. I am very approachable and have built many strong friendships here at Westwood over the years with residents, family members, and staff.
