Thanks to The Beeches Care Centre for the outstanding care they gave my mum while she lived there for the past four and a half years. She was very happy there because of the dedicated care and love from everyone, from cleaners, laundry, canteen, carers and manager. It felt like home.
I was touched by the compassion and dignity they displayed as they attended to her through several illnesses and her recent death. The girls were genuinely upset at her passing. Many attended the funeral in their own time.

I cannot recommend the care home enough for anyone looking for a place for their relatives.

My mum came to The Beeches for respite care. She had fallen at home and needed extra care. All the staff are excellent. I have no complaints about the level of care she receives. She loves the food and has gained weight. She is assisted with washing and dressing and always looks clean. She is even joining in with activities which are well planned.

Finding The Beeches care home has been a Godsend for my mum and I. I really appreciate their care and support for both my mum and myself.

They are so kind and caring but also professional and highly organised. I have been able to enjoy my time with my mum. Knowing that her physical and emotional needs are being met when I am not there is such a burden lifted.

I live abroad so I was only able to visit every 3 or 4 months. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the impression they had too many things to do at the same time and in general more staff would help. Outside area did not seem to be used properly because no one was available to sit with residents.

Reply from Claire Hurworth, Careline Manager at The Beeches Care Home

The home is now fully staffed after recruiting onto both day and nightshifts. The outside area is used regularly by residents in warmer weather, staff do not sit with them as residents in our home have full capacity but are regularly checked whilst they are outside. Staff will join residents during...

Approximately two years ago a decision was made by my mother and family that 24-hour care would be necessary. We looked at a few homes and chose The Beeches. We certainly made the correct choice for my mother. The friendliness and caring nature of all the staff were marvellous. The home was clean and tidy and the food was very good. Residents and visitors could have a drink/snack whenever they needed one. At mealtimes, there was always a variety of choices. Regular entertainments were organised along with trips out. Any religious needs were catered for. An activities coordinator was employed to keep the resident's minds active. The home was always improving their facilities. My mother spent her last few years in this excellent home for which we were very grateful.

On my numerous visits to The Beeches during the past two years or so, I have always found the staff to be extremely professional, but also very welcoming and helpful. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, either in their care for the residents, or their attention to visitors. I cannot bring to mind any occasion when this has not been so, and it applies to all members of staff I have encountered.

On first visiting the home when looking for care for mum, I knew it was the right place for her. The home had such a warm caring homely feel about it. All the staff that I came in contact with were warm and friendly and professional. Mum has been in the Beeches a couple of years and has been very well cared for. I know when I leave her I have piece of mind that she is safe and happy.

My mother has recently moved into The Beeches. After a small stroke and a period of time in the hospital. I have been delighted with the way she has been treated by the staff to make her feel welcome. The manager and staff were excellent when there was a problem with her discharge from the hospital, sorting it out with me calmly and efficiently. I can tell my mum is being well cared for and is safe and sound in a well-run care home.

My 93 yr old mum has now been at The Beeches for 2 years. She has always been a very independent person and it was hard for her to give up her home and accept that she needed help and support in her everyday life to keep her safe and well cared for. She chose The Beeches as it is smaller home where she felt secure and more able to understand the simple layout. Staff were very friendly on our visits. We joined in the activities provided, had lunches and mum soon made friends. Whilst it has not been an easy transition for mum to accept, often anxious and tearful, staff are always patient and attentive to her needs and do all they can to support her. The senior management team are especially supportive to both residents and relatives and work hard to ensure a clean, happy, safe and interesting environment for all who go there.

My mum has been at The Beeches for 10 months. It is a very warm and welcoming home with a "homely" feeling as you go in. My mum is very well cared for and all her needs are met. The staff are great, anything my mum has needed, they have arranged it for her, to make her day to day life as comfortable as possible.
