Mum moved into Daisy Nook House in February of this year. It has been a challenging time for us, as her family to adjust to her not being at home. The care and love that mum receives from all of the staff has made this time more bearable. All the staff are amazing with us, as a family and are so caring
and supportive. We could not wish for mum to be better cared for and we are so thankful to all of the staff at Daisy Nook.

My mother is a resident at Daisynook. She is well cared for and well-stimulated by all the staff they are all so caring. They have excellent cooked meals, snacks, drinks, and lots of cups of tea to keep their fluids up. They have activities on a daily basis (excluding weekends). The residents have protected
meal times to respect their dignity at all times.

With a heavy heart, my mum had to leave her home of 32 years to live at Daisy Nook House in 2021. Although a difficult decision to make on her behalf it was the best one. The staff including laundry, domestic, catering and maintenance have all contributed to her settling and accepting her surroundings
and ultimately calling it home. As a family, we are thankful for her care in a clean and fresh environment, healthy nutrition, kindness and compassion, especially in our mum's final days. Good communication always which is most important and a fabulous entertainment program.

Having experienced a previous care home for my mum, the difference at Daisy Nook House is amazing. My mum is always clean, well fed and cared for, always has companionship if she requires and is encouraged to join in activities and attend entertainment sessions. She is pampered by the hairdresser and
her nail are always beautifully done. All staff are polite and welcoming to myself and I am completely at ease Mum is in this place.

My dad has been a resident since October 2021. There is a real sense of care from the staff. The home always seems to have something going on; singers, dancers, days out and many many activities within the home. There are many themed events throughout the year where relatives can also get involved.
The home also has very good lines of communication and I feel that I can call any time if I can't contact my dad on his mobile. Obviously I'm sad that my dad has had to go into a care home but I have no concerns about the level of care and attention he receives.

My nana has been a resident for what will be 2 years this March. As a family, we are very thankful for the quality of care that is given. All the staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. They always have something going on such as singers, dancers, days out and little parties and it's very nice
as I feel not a lot of care homes look after their residents as much as Daisy Nook do. Very happy that this is the home we chose to help look after Nana.

My dad came to stay at Daisy Nook following a long stay in hospital. He was reluctant to be in residential care, as I'm sure most people are initially. However, he is very complimentary towards the staff and feels he is well looked after. My dad doesn't always join in activities, but I am particularly
impressed with what the home has to offer, to ensure adequate stimulation for the residents. Staff are friendly and the home is immaculate, standards are high and I would definitely recommend.

We can't thank all the staff enough for all they did in helping our mum celebrate her 80th Birthday. The staff members really do care and look after the residents very well. A big shout out to the events coordinator who just went out of her way to help with the preparation, nothing was too much trouble.
We made very special memories on this day which means a lot so thank you to Daisy Nook.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.963)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.963) out of 10 for Daisy Nook House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 34 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.963 for Daisy Nook House is calculated as follows: ( (393 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 406 Ratings = 4.963
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Daisy Nook House is based on 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 34 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
