It has been my experience that all the staff are exceptionally caring and helpful on all aspects of my friends care. In particular during October 2025, the manager was very helpful in dealing with a team from social housing which concluded in my friend being able to stay in the loving care of Norley Care Home. I am pleased to offer this feed back for the care provided for my friend.

From first walking into the home it had a warm and welcoming feeling this was extremely comforting for me as when a loved one goes into respite with a view to it being permanent it is a hard decision and to feel how I felt when I was there was comforting. All the staff from cleaners to managers were welcoming to us as a family especially under the circumstances nothing was too much trouble for them, we were made to feel comfortable was shown around and everything explained to us. We were able to stay and enjoy coffee/ tea etc when the entertainment was on. The home is a credit to all who work there and would highly recommend to others looking for care.

Norley Hall care home came to the rescue after a disasterous brief stay at another care home, which had been organised by NHS at Wigan Infirmary. It was like coming out of darkness and despair into a world of sunshine.
My wife had one to one respite care. The support and treatment by a dedicated management and caring staff was exceptional. It has certainly changed my opinion of what living in a care home could be like. The management came out immediately to do the transfer between homes and was waiting to welcome us to Norley Hall when we arrived in the evening. I was always made welcome to visit and stay at any time. Everyone was so kind, considerate and helpful. It was a very happy experience in a difficult situation.

I have read and agree with all the recent positive review for Norley Hall. They are an accurate reflection of my experience.

When mom was admitted to Norley following a fall causing a broken hip, she was welcomed far more than her previous home. She was happier and looked after with dignity and care. Her food Was well cooked and presented and the entertainment was fabulous. All special days and occasions were celebrated. When Mum passed I became a volunteer to pay back the love and respect given to her.

My mum has been at Norley Hall Care Home since the start of the year and we are really pleased with the way she has settled in, considering the nature of her difficulties. From the very start when the manager came to visit her we felt reassured that she would be in good hands. All the staff show care and understanding for individual needs. It is a happy place and we are always made to feel welcome. We are encouraged to share any little questions or concerns, and feel like we are always listened to.

My Mum has been a resident at Norley Hall Care Home since June 2024, and from the very beginning, she was welcomed into a caring and supportive community. The level of one-to-one care and attention she has received is truly second to none.
There is always a variety of entertainment and social activities on offer, keeping her engaged and mentally stimulated. This has made such a difference to her overall well-being. The quality of food is also excellent, with a varied menu that has undoubtedly contributed to her improvement.
The staff are always happy, friendly, and incredibly helpful - nothing is ever too much trouble. In fact, my mum has often said she wishes she had moved here years ago, as she wouldn't choose to live anywhere else.
I am eternally grateful to all the staff for the kindness, and support they continue to provide. Their dedication brings immense peace of mind, knowing my Mum is in the best possible hands.

Thank you, Norley Hall team, for everything you do!

My mother is happy and settled in the Care Home.
She is safe and her care needs are met.
The staff are welcoming to myself and my Husband and they seem to genuinely care about the residents in their charge.
The activity schedule is robust and there always seem to be something going on to keep the residents stimulated.
We are thankful for the care provided and the Norley Hall team.

Our criticism would be the price point of the 'top up' fees. It hangs over our heads like a big black cloud, knowing it is subject to review and yearly rises. This has a great impact on us as we have 2 parents residing there.

Every single carer at Norley Hall Care Home are absolutely amazing. They all do an incredible job looking after our loved ones.
Communication from management (including the deputy), however has been appalling.

At a time when your loved one needs to belong, with care and support of those they trust, for them to be rejected without even a moments consultation with family is unforgivable.

My brother has been a resident for the last 6 months and in this time he has been very well cared for. From management to staff I couldn't ask for anything more. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff whilst looking after him. Norley Hall has given me the chance to be a sister to my brother and not his carer. Thank you to you all from the bottom of my heart for caring for my brother. I can't thank you enough.

We really appreciated the welcoming environment, in particular, the professional staff were supportive, capable, confident and worked with both residents and relatives. They gave stimulating, reassuring and respect which was patient-centred. They have helped with dressing, washing and hygiene issues/personal needs. Tremendous responses to the needs of all around. Food is scrumptious and ample. The activities are age-appropriate, daily, positive social interactions. I fully endorse the care home!

Mum has been in Norley Hall since December 2022. She has settled in really well. The staff are lovely and helpful and make me feel really welcome when I visit which is most days. The new activity lady is lovely and keeps the residents active. She's not too keen on the food, it's hit and miss. I am really happy with the care she's receiving and changing doctors has been really good as well. Overall I am really happy with Norley Hall.

Since they had to stay in their rooms for a few days owing to an outbreak of respiratory infections this has really upset my mum. She has found it difficult to settle in an evening and has at times been very confused. The carers have been excellent in dealing with her and calming her down. The manager has also spoken to me and put my mind at ease.

Mum has enjoyed all the activities they have had and enjoys taking part.

Kathryn RimmerJob Title:ManagerJoined: 2018

I have been in the health and social care sector for over 30 years now, starting out as a young care assistant at just the age of 19.

It was while working with dementia residents, especially, that I found my calling and knew that this was what I wanted to do.

From assistant cook to carer to senior, I worked as a theatre assistant in the hospital environment, also working my way up to home manager almost 8 years ago.

I have achieved all NVQs in health and social care, from Level 2 to Level 4, and a Diploma-level 5 in Leadership and Management.

I am a very interactive manager and love nothing better than to sit and chat with each of the residents that we care for at Norley Hall. My aim is that each and every one of them feels like part of our family.

I am cheerful and positive and lead by example to deliver the highest standard of care possible.

I believe that quality activities and interactions are as important as eating, drinking and sleeping. If we get this right, then we can be sure that our residents will have the quality of life that they expect.

Kindness is contagious… let’s share the kindness bug.
