Offering bespoke residential and residential dementia care, Fazakerley House care home is situated in the peaceful residential area of Prescot, in Merseyside.

There is much to love about this welcoming setting; residents enjoy spending time at the hair salon, in the sunny conservatory or going on trips out exploring the local area in the minibus. If they prefer the comforts of home, or are unable to venture outside, residents can also enjoy relaxation time in the range of en-suite and premier bedrooms.

Residents also benefit from quality meals prepared by the in house catering team. Recognising the nutritional requirements of older people, the team offer a wide variety of meals to be enjoyed in the spacious and welcoming dining areas. During the warmer months, the peaceful garden is also a firm favourite with residents and their loved ones to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.

The care provided at the home is second to none. The care team apply their experience to get to know residents' care needs, carrying out regular reviews so they are able to respond to any changes. I find the manager to be extremely helpful and very caring to residents. Also, if there is anything a resident needs, she tends to it quickly and efficiently. All staff are very caring and helpful. Residents all seem to be very well looked after and cared for. This home is very well run and thoroughly
cleaned. I would recommend it to friends and family.

My auntie appears to be very happy and well cared for, all staff from cleaners, carers, admin, management are always willing to help and assist her in any way they can. Her room has been recently been refurbished and she is very pleased with it. She always comments how happy and cheerful staff are and
nothing is too much trouble.

My Mum, who dementia, has been a resident at Fazakerley House since June 2018 and I can’t fault the Care Home at all. The manager started just before lockdown in March 2020 and she has done everything to keep the residents safe and well and how well did they do. The staff there are so friendly as there
is no big turnover of staff as they seem to be really happy working there. The food, which I have tried on a couple of occasions, is second to none. All freshly cooked to make sure the residents have substantial meals all the time. My Mum is happy there and has lots of friends. The only downside is that I wish they had more entertainment to keep them occupied. Otherwise, I would recommend Fazakerley House 100%. It’s like my second home as I just love going there. Thanks to the manager and all the staff - you do a brilliant job, and me and my family appreciate what you do - always. One other mention is that they all deserve a pay rise!

I just wish to say, today visiting my mum. We found the Manager of Fazakerley House - will be leaving in 3 weeks. We found her absolutely amazing throughout this pandemic. She has run the home to her utmost, kept it safe and hygienic. My mum will miss her so much, no doubt the other residents, and her
fantastic amazing staff will also miss her. We wish you all the best in the future, the home will miss you so much. You will always be remembered for your hard work, lovely personality. Mostly for your genuine care for my mum and the residents. Thank you for being there for me too, when we thought we were losing her, you gave us the faith we needed. Wherever you go, they will be very, very lucky to have you. All our love.

My mum came into this care home in 2015 when we lost Dad. I was very apprehensive about having to have Mum in a care home, but this home is a five stars plus. The staff, the managers and the kitchen staff are absolutely fantastic; they do a brilliant job. When Covid came in February 2019 and lockdown
came, all the resident's families were heartbroken, but the staff and the managers in Fazackly House have been brilliant, absolutely brilliant; I can’t thank them enough. Just thank you.

My Nan came to here 12 months ago, really didn’t think she would settle as she is 95 and was very independent but the staff here have made her settle very quickly and go above and beyond for her. Nothing is any trouble. This is all we needed to know me nan was in safe hands.
Giving that these workers
are working tirelessly during this pandemic they have done amazing keeping everybody safe. We are really grateful of all you have done and continue to do the work doesn’t go unnoticed and we are really appreciative for everything you do. Thank you.

My grandmother is 99 and recently moved into the home after living in her family home for 60 years. Understandably she wasn't thrilled at this but the staff have been extremely welcoming and have gone above and beyond on a regular basis for her. They have given us regular updates throughout the pandemic
and have allowed us to speak to her and visit remotely when possible. This is the happiest she has been in a long time and the care she has been given has been exceptional.

The staff at Fazakerley House do an incredible job looking after the residents especially during COVID lockdown where they played a very important role keeping my nan safe. They are very professional, caring and respectful of people who live there which makes Fazakerley House an amazing care home. I’m
extremely grateful for everything they do.

My father-in-law was very happy during the two short respite periods he spent at Fazakerley House. The staff all knew his name which is important so that he felt settled. I felt that nothing was too much trouble and that any difficulty could be overcome and dealt with. The house itself is very welcoming
and the lounges have modern decor, they have gone to great lengths to make it a home and not an institution.

This home is really good. This staff team are excellent and work really hard, continuing to improve their service. Food, drink and the standards of cleanliness are extremely high and the opportunity for residents to access the local community with twice-weekly trips out are a lifeline to independence
that my dad was worried about.
Can’t wait to see what they have planned for the rest of the year.

I moved into Fazakerley House a few years ago and I have enjoyed every minute staying here. I have made new friends and also enjoy my meals. My family also enjoy visiting me and enjoy and are happy with the friendly welcome they receive on every visit.
I look forward to spending many more years at
Fazakerley House. Would like more activities taking place as I enjoy taking part.

I moved into Fazakerley House in 2014 and I feel this is the best move I have ever done in my life. I enjoy the company of others and have made a few friends along the way. I like the fact I can spend time in my own room either watching my own TV or listening to my radio and I don't worry about making
my meals or shopping for food and the staff are very friendly, always around if you need to chat when you are worried. The care provided is excellent.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.937) out of 10 for Fazakerley House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.937 for Fazakerley House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (281 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 300 Ratings = 4.937
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fazakerley House Care Home is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
