What a wonderful caring home, my elderly Aunt was end of life after being in the home for just over 6 months, for the last few days of her life we were visiting daily for extended periods, the staff could not do enough for my Aunt and our family. They showed genuine care and empathy for her and went
out of their way to make sure she was comfortable all times, contacting medical staff promptly when we felt it was needed. They also made us feel welcome and comfortable whilst we stayed with our Aunt offering us food and drinks and advice and really took onboard the family's wishes and requests.
The staff and home are a credit to your company.

Warm welcome from staff from the moment you walk into the building, so accommodating and helpful. They always know where my nan is and who she's talking to which is lovely and personable. Staff always help me with my nans accessibility and it makes my while visitation more relaxed and enjoyable. Thanks
to the girls for all being so empathetic and enduring some (sometimes wicked) interesting sense of humors in the residents! Couldn't sleep at night without you all.

A welcoming atmosphere. The home is warm and residents are cared for very well indeed. The recent management are all approachable and willing to help with any requests. The activities are ensuring all residents are allowed to grow as much as possible.
All in all a well run happy space.

We are very happy with Mum's care in this home. She has settled well. The staff are great, and have been very attentive to Mum's varied needs. I think the management are excellent, they keep us informed always if she has any changes in her physical health. Her room is cosy and always clean. The activities
and food are excellent.

Mum has settled into Rocy Lodge and is very happy there. She loves the staff and the company of the other residents. As a family, we are really happy with Mum's care. Staff are very kind and professional, and the residents are looked after well. The food is of a really good standard and all needs are
catered for. The home is kept very clean and tidy by the great housekeeping team, and the laundry staff do a wonderful job keeping residents' clothes clean and fresh.

Due to Mum's type 2 diabetes she should not be overloaded with food/meals/milkshakes and juices. Not good with healthy options. Alternative to a heavy meal are sandwiches made with 'cheap' margarine. Mum would 'never' have milkshakes or cereal, cakes and or biscuits but 'continually' offered them. This
affects her bowels/stoma and leads to discomfort and lethargy. Also due to meals being transported from adjacent building they can be warm/cold. There's nothing wrong with her and others just having a good 'ole' cuppa tea instead of sugary juices and disgusting milkshakes. This needs addressing.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Roby Lodge Care HomeThank you for your review. We are sorry you have had concerns regarding the food and have addressed this with our kitchen. We always try to ensure our residents have personal choice and preference as well as considering their medical requirements. Following our meeting I hope the plan in place ensures your mum can enjoy her choices and it does not affect her health.

All staff and management have been excellent from day one. Mum has been in Roby Lodge for only 4 weeks but has settled in straight away. Mum has been entertained, had her hair cut and eating well. We feel she is in a safe and caring place and are very grateful to all the staff.

Care home management and staff are excellent and work really hard to care for the residents.
I feel that an extra member of staff is needed at times as staff can become very stretched caring for the more needy residents.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Roby Lodge Care HomeThank you for your very positive review; we are proud of our staff at Roby Lodge. It was lovely to read you think our team are excellent. We review our staff ratios monthly in line with the dependency levels of those living with us to ensure safe staffing levels. The home manager has had a conversation with the family member and shown him the dependency tool etc. and he is now more reassured.

Visited today. All staff were very cheery and taking great care of the residents. One staff member in particular was brilliant and gave lots of information asked for and was super helpful. The home seemed nice and clean and the rooms are nice and spacious.

An amazing team who looked after my mum providing dignified care and compassion around the clock. Knowing how well my mum was looked after gave me great peace of mind. During her recent end-of-life care, I cannot praise the staff enough. Even though they were busy, nothing was too much trouble - and
I was astounded at how well they supported and looked after me and my family whilst in her last few days.
I will never forget the amazing people and will always be indebted to them. Thank you with all of my heart.

My auntie was in Roby Lodge Care Home Liverpool, she was moved from elsewhere. She passed away on 21.1.24 in Roby Lodge and the care she received was really very good. She was treated at the end of life with dignity and care. I spent her last 4 days with her and the staff were amazingly kind to myself
and her son, my cousin. I have had experience in care homes as a manager, being retired 10 years ago. I would like to say that you. You should be proud of your staff and management in Roby Lodge.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.851)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.851) out of 10 for Roby Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.851 for Roby Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (398 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 450 Ratings = 4.851
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Roby Lodge Care Home is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
