I was made to feel most welcome in this home. The food is excellent, and I have my own room, which is very comfortable. The staff are extremely nice and easy to chat with.

Roby Lodge was my first choice of a care home for my 96-year-old mum. My partners mum had been here for a couple of years so I knew from visiting it was a nice place it was. Mum went in for respite initially but settled from day one and is now a happy permanent resident. She said she is looked after
very well and has everything she needs in her lovely room.

My mum has been at Roby Lodge for 2 years. She came from another care home and I am so glad she came here. She has never been happier. The staff are friendly and take such good care of mum. Nothing is too much trouble. If I do have any issues they are sorted right away by the managers. Mum is always
praising the staff and she is treated with dignity and respect at all times.

Mum originally went into Roby Lodge a few weeks ago for respite and we have seen such a difference in her during this short time that this is now going be her Home. The staff have been lovely in helping mum settle in and looking after her wellbeing. It is reassuring that at 96 she has the 24-hour care
she needs to have a good quality of life. Thanks for looking after mum and keeping everyone safe.

Out mum has been in Roby Lodge since January 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic changing all our lives, our biggest being as a family not seeing our mum. As soon as government rules in place or changes staff inform us straight away and we continue to have phone calls and speak to mum also via Facetime.
Mum looks well cared for and seems happy quite. Recently we have been allowed window visits only two at a time but feels comforting to see mum happy to see us and vice versa. Any concerns or worries as a family we have, the staff are always helpful and reassuring at all times. Updates for us and swabs regularly and recently this week mum has had the vaccine. So we feel mum is in a safe environment with excellent care from the staff.

Roby Lodge has provided excellent care for my mum and continues to do so during the pandemic. They have arranged regular safe visits and kept me informed of any information concerning Covid regulations. My mum is in excellent health and is happy here.

On behalf of my gran. 'Many thanks to all the staff at Roby house, my husband Norman went in May 2020 and stayed until he passed in December. He was well looked after, the staff were wonderful with him and helped him improve so much before he went downhill. They made him comfortable in palliative care
and were really accommodating to me and the family, I can’t thank you enough.'

We are so glad that we chose Roby Lodge as the preferred Care home for our Mum in December 2019. It was a massive decision for us as a family to persuade Mum to leave our family home. After our dad passed away we thought Mum was suffering from depression but it soon became obvious to us all that it
was Alzheimer’s disease.
When the final decision was made, we thankfully chose Roby Lodge to be her new home, we could not have made a better choice.
From day one our Mum was made to feel so welcome by every one of the lovely staff. Mum was given good nourishing homemade food. Her room is spacious and spotlessly clean. She has developed friendships with quite a few of the other residents and joins with them for regular sing-alongs. I cannot thank the wonderful staff for caring for Mum with a Capital C. They are treating mum with affection and dignity and also show such kindness and respect to us as her family.
Thanks for everything girls especially for keeping Mum safe. God Bless.

My long term partner is a resident who has been here since June 2019. I have found that since she has been in residence despite initial teething problems, she has settled extremely well. I come from a background of caring and have been a former community care manager and I am aware of the many problems
caring can have on both the carer and client. We are at a difficult period at this moment in time with the outbreak of a pandemic and as a result, the staff have difficult choices to make, one of them having to come to work and putting themselves at risk as well as their families. I could not praise them enough for the thankless task they face each day. I for one and hopefully millions of others across the country will be clapping loudly every Thursday for the many carers across the country especially for the staff of Roby Lodge. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Best wishes.

Firstly sorry for the delay in submitting a review, only I have been very busy and unable to complete anything. My father was placed in Roby lodge on 2 weeks respite at very short notice. If I am honest it was the worst decision I have ever made. At first, it was a relief to have him safe in a home
however, it was the wrong home! If I can just stress the staff were absolutely lovely and tried their best. But I am not convinced there is adequate training and knowledge with dementia or Alzheimer’s as they really did not have a clue on how to look after dad at all. The residents weren’t stimulated and just looked vacant. The managers gave conflicting information and missed important treatments.
I have raised a complaint with the senior team however that was a waste of time. I would not recommend this home for dementia/Alzheimer's residents at all.
Rooms below standard, disgusting linen, poorly equipped and dull.

I am sorry you feel we were that wrong home however we are led by external professionals to determine the category of care needed depending on individual needs. I can reassure you that all our staff are trained in dementia care which is updated on a regular basis. We identified activities within the home were not reaching their full potential and now have an additional wellbeing coordinator.

My mum is well looked after at Roby Lodge in a lovely comfortable clean room. I have peace of mind while she is here as they do the best care.

First impression of this care home was really nice. We got that lovely feeling as soon as we arrived with our dad. The manager is fantastic so are the rest of the staff. Everyone one in here is so helpful, honest and kind. My dad has settled in really well and that's down to all the dedicated staff
in here.

On entering the home, you are immediately met with a warm welcome.
It is bright, spacious and full of chatter. From the manager down, everybody we have met has been kind and friendly. Everything is explained from the off and given you are leaving one of your most treasured possessions (our dad), you
instantly feel it is home from home. The facilities are 5* and I would consider our family to be very lucky to secure a place here. We know he is warm, safe and well looked after.

I wanted to write this review after my parents had been in Roby Lodge for six months to reassure other families that things get better. The staff are professional, friendly and also support me on my down days. I would like to thank all the staff for caring so well for my mum and dad. It really is now
their home. I did bring my mum home for the night while my dad had a short stay in hospital but, she did not settle all night. There was pure joy when she got back to Roby Lodge and I now know she is "home".

We looked at many homes for some respite care for my Mum and were offered a room at Roby Lodge. From our very first visit, everyone was very welcoming, answered every question we had and the available room was perfect for Mums needs. We had no hesitation in accepting the room for an initial two weeks
respite.
I am very pleased to say that at the end of the stay Mum had enjoyed it so much she decided she wanted to stay permanently. I cannot fault the caring nature of the staff, they are constantly checking on my Mum, encouraging her to get involved and constantly topping her up with cups of tea etc. Mum is far more stimulated, feels safe and secure and she has generally been much better since she went to Roby Lodge.


We have been particularly impressed by the Manager who is very much involved with the residents and has done everything possible to help Mum settle in. They have gone that extra step and it is lovely to see Mum settled and happy. Thank you..

My mother was recommended by social services for respite care at Roby Lodge from April 12th. My first impressions were very good. We had a thorough home assessment by the deputy manager and on taking my mother, she was greeted well and treated with respect. We have since decided that long term care
is required and are very happy to stay Roby Lodge. All the staff are very professional, caring and helpful. My mother has settled very well.

My Dad has been here approximately 3 weeks.
He settled in very quickly with the help of the brilliant staff.
Rooms are always clean and tidy.
Food is good, my Dad enjoys it.
A lovely quiet lounge if people need it and the communal lounge is always busy with staff and other residents.
TV or music
is always on and jigsaws and books etc to keep residents entertained.

The staff are very nice and the home is fairly new. My mum was an emergency placement. She was here for 6 weeks prior to us moving her. In the end, we felt we had no choice if we wanted to keep her well cared for. There was very little in terms of social interaction so it meant residents were sat in
chairs all day with little to do. We often went in and found Mum sitting in the chair wet and without a pad in place. Her dignity was lost. Clothes went missing never to return despite them being labelled. After only a week another resident pushed Mum to the floor. When I spoke to the staff they were very defensive and angry. I accept these things can happen but they also need to understand that as a family we want information and reassurance, not excuses. It is short staffed. Mum's dementia deteriorated significantly when she was here. The CQC report has rated this home as good but in my opinion, that is hard to agree with. I am so glad we moved her as she is much more settled now.
