Connell Court offers warm and welcoming residential care for up to 37 residents in purpose-built, ensuite accommodation in beautiful Birkdale. The passionate team provides person-centred care in a home-from-home setting. Connell Court also offers short-term respite care.

As soon as you arrive, you'll see why people consider Connell Court a second family. A highly-trained team of dedicated and experienced staff works hard to ensure that the people in their care, and their friends and family, feel truly at home.

Staff encourage residents to live the life they want to lead: shared living/dining areas provide opportunities to interact with the tight-knit community, whilst they also encourage independence and pursuit of individual interests, through access to numerous activities as well as support with specific medical requirements.

Connell Court is close to lots of local amenities.

The activities team prepares a weekly schedule promoting physical, mental and social stimulation, offering group activities, as well as 1 to1 time. They value the stories and experiences of all residents in their care, getting to know each individual, their achievements and hobbies and will adapt their interests into the activities they provide.

In addition to a diverse diary of daily activities that take place in the home, they also focus on themed days, afternoon outings, local entertainment in the home, as well as meaningful moments. Every occasion is celebrated at Connell Court. Whether its a cream tea afternoon, a Ukelele lesson, or a talk on Charles Dickens, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

I am confident and comfortable with the care that my father receives. I know he is safe physically and mentally - more so than he has been for years. I appreciate the homes' efforts to keep me up to date, by sharing his activities through photographs as I cant be there.

The standard of care provided at Connell Court is excellent. The staff works tirelessly in all areas and the range of daily activities is extensive. The facilities such as the hair salon and the lovely garden are second to none.

Initially moving in for respite care, my father settled so well, with the support of staff, that he made this a permanent move. Still active, the staff have been encouraging his trips out and involvement in in-home activities whilst ensuring his comfort and safety, a huge relief to all his children.
Staff have been so welcoming and considerate that this initially reluctant resident (independent being his middle name) has become a bit of a fan of all of them. The many activities organised ensure he has something to do every day which he happily talks about to all his children with praise for the staff involved. Thank you to all the staff.

Very impressed with the dedicated care, kindness, and attention to detail of everyone in Connell Court. The lady I care for is very fussy but is always delighted with all the attention she receives there. Can't wait for her next respite care. Such a relief for her family who live a long way off and

My Auntie has been a resident for seven years, my Uncle was a resident for the first twelve months of this time. Both were strong, independent hard-working people. However, in their nineties, decided they needed that special care. Sadly my Uncle passed away but not without the special care and dignity
required and supplied by Connell Court. Auntie continued on her own and with support from Connell Court, she has continued with a happy, relaxed, fulfilled time making friends with both residents and staff, enjoying the activities and themed projects. She has also appreciated being able to take part in meetings and decision-making on behalf of herself and fellow residents.
Connell Court during this time has always been outstanding for care provided, cleanliness, standard of food, activity schedule, and the kind and personal connection with all involved.
It is a great comfort knowing that my auntie is being cared for to this standard and she too has always appreciated Connell Court as her home

My mother, a grammar school girl who made it to Oxford, had always been fiercely independent. 'Promise me you’ll never put me in a care home.' But at the age of 91 the medics said she needed full time care, not visiting carers. Mum spent the last five years of her full life in Connell Court and they
were among her happiest years. She settled straight away and threw herself into the many and varied indoor and outdoor activities the home puts on. Everyone, from the very accessible Manager and her experienced Seniors to the newest carer, was kind and compassionate and quick to tell me about any changes in Mum’s condition and in the home’s routines. I never felt that I was kept in the dark or was being a nuisance. The care Mum received throughout her stay was exemplary. I visited her frequently and she often told me 'such a lovely place, and lovely people.' We were both very lucky to have found Connell Court.

The overall experience of Connell Court was excellent from the start; phoning up the management and making enquiries to getting my mum in and settled. She was only in for three weeks recovering from an emergency operation. She was made very welcome by all the staff and other residents. I would highly
recommend the care home and would not hesitate to use it again in the future if needed.

I have a friend here who has been here 6 years now and his health has deteriorated to such an extent he is virtually blind. The staff look after him so well and he always comments on the excellent service. He never complains about anything and praises the staff for looking after him so well. I visit
him weekly and how clean and tidy his room is always impresses me. The staff have got to know me and they are only too willing to answer any queries I have. I would have no hesitation recommending this home to anyone.

The staff are caring and supportive of the residents, as are the management, especially in this time of uncertainty as to the future of the home. The food is adequate and there is always a choice of menu. The activities coordinator is excellent and inventive and always appreciative of help and ideas
to keep the residents entertained. All in all a good care home.

Connell Court is a homely residential home. It is an ideal place especially for people like my mother, who needs support but not necessarily nursing care, though there have been occasions when this has been necessary. It is not too large to overwhelm the residents. The staff work hard to maintain a
cheerful caring atmosphere and the home is well-maintained and very clean.

From our initial enquiry, we were all treated with courtesy and respect. The staff made the transition from living at home to Connell Court as smooth as possible. My mum has just moved into Connell Court. The staff were fantastic with supporting the move. They have been lovely with my mum, and really helpful with all the questions I had relating to her move. Very friendly staff making her move as happy and reassuring as possible at a time when it is very unsettling
for her. The facilities are great, my mum loves the food and there are a lot of activities and day trips for her to consider straight away.

I cannot thank Connell Court enough for the care and attention given to my aunt. The last few years have been difficult for her. The staff have given total care and attention.
I was able to take her in the Friday prior to lockdown.
She was living alone and very vulnerable.
It was the best decision
I could have made.

I recently visited my aunt at Connell Court care home and was very impressed with how nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were polite, friendly and very caring. My aunt's life is so much more fulfilled since moving into the home.

My Grandad was reluctant at first to live in a care home. But he has settled in really well at Connell Court over the past few months. He has integrated well, thoroughly enjoys the food, joins in with activities and is comfortable in his new home.

Connell Court is situated 5 mins from where there are quaint local shops, restaurants and tea rooms.
The resident's rooms are of a decent size, with large bay windows boasting a view of either the front or back garden. All ensuite.
Management and staff are dedicated, always friendly, helpful and efficient.
Lots of activities and themed days.
A really lovely care home.
