Connell Court offers warm and welcoming residential care for up to 37 residents in purpose-built, ensuite accommodation in beautiful Birkdale. The passionate team provides person-centred care in a home-from-home setting. Connell Court also offers short-term respite care.

As soon as you arrive, you'll see why people consider Connell Court a second family. A highly-trained team of dedicated and experienced staff works hard to ensure that the people in their care, and their friends and family, feel truly at home.

Staff encourage residents to live the life they want to lead: shared living/dining areas provide opportunities to interact with the tight-knit community, whilst they also encourage independence and pursuit of individual interests, through access to numerous activities as well as support with specific medical requirements.

Connell Court is close to lots of local amenities.

The activities team prepares a weekly schedule promoting physical, mental and social stimulation, offering group activities, as well as 1 to1 time. They value the stories and experiences of all residents in their care, getting to know each individual, their achievements and hobbies and will adapt their interests into the activities they provide.

In addition to a diverse diary of daily activities that take place in the home, they also focus on themed days, afternoon outings, local entertainment in the home, as well as meaningful moments. Every occasion is celebrated at Connell Court. Whether its a cream tea afternoon, a Ukelele lesson, or a talk on Charles Dickens, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

My mother is well looked after and feels safe and secure in these difficult times.
We are very happy with Connell Court. My father was also a resident for a short time and my mother specifically asked to go there when she could no longer cope at home.

My mother has been in Connell court since November 2018 following a stroke.
My mother is very well looked after; she has made so many friends over her time in the home. The activity programme is very varied. The care and attention she is given by the staff are amazing.
After a visit, I always know
that my mother is well looked after and she is safe. We are going through the lockdown at the moment, and the home has kept in touch with relatives by video calls, which has been much appreciated.

Connell Court is an excellent care home and the staff go way beyond the normal duty of care which you might expect in a home of this type. They make the welfare and happiness of all their residents their highest priority and are also extremely considerate of the residents' families and their needs.
My mother loves living there and has her every need met by the home. She enjoys participating in the various activities and values the sociable aspect of the home. The carers are kindness itself and always try to help out the residents in every situation. It is a relief and a comfort to me to know that she is in the best possible place and that she is so happy there.

My father has been at Connell Court as a permanent resident since December 2019. Dad has settled in so much better than I could ever have hoped for and really feels like he is at home here now. The staff are extremely kind and friendly, and Dad is always treated with respect and kindness.


I had

dreaded searching for a care home for Dad, but as soon as I walked into Connell Court, I knew this was the right one for him. As soon as you walk in, it light and bright, smells lovely and there is a general happy atmosphere.


There are constant activities for the residents with a lovely garden and conservatory that Dad loves to sit in. The dining room is lovely with white table cloths on tables for four; Dad really enjoys the food, and he is not the easiest to please on that front.


I would recommend Connell Court to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one. I have such peace of mind knowing he is there, well looked after and most of all happy.

Our friend recently passed away at Connell Court after 8 years of living there. Connell Court had become home to our friend, where she felt loved and cared for. The end of life care she received was outstanding as was the help given to us as we spent time with our friend in her final days. We would
have no hesitation in recommending Cornell Court to you or your loved ones.

Connell Court provides an excellent environment for elderly people to live in. It is well managed and the level of care provided by all the staff takes into account the needs and wishes of the residents. The staff take the time to get to know the residents and understand both their personal and emotional
needs. The residents are always treated with dignity and respect. All the facilities including the catering are maintained to a high level.

I visit the home weekly to give communion to the Roman Catholic residents.
The place is always clean, the staff helpful and happy and the organised activities are plentiful and varied.

In general, I am very satisfied and Connell Court is a very pleasant and friendly place to visit. My sole reservation regards the food, my mother reporting it as very variable with some excellent meals but also some very poor ones, especially at tea time.

Excellent. Was highly recommended and not disappointed. Very professional and capable staff; caring and friendly. Excellent systems in place to monitor care, support and cleanliness.
Daily activities and entertainment and impressive celebrations of important events eg Easter, royal weddings.

Connell Court looked after my mum during her rehabilitation from hospital between April and June 2019. They did a great job. Very friendly and welcoming, they made her feel relaxed and at home from day 1. Nothing was too much bother for the helpful and courteous staff and they did their utmost to ensure
I could speak with my mother whenever I called and kept me up to date with her progress whenever I asked.

I have been visiting the home for 12 months and every time I go I am greeted by very welcoming staff no matter what part of the building I am in. The social side is very good and this shows in the face of the person I visit. You can always get yourself a hot drink, which is good if you have travelled
some distance.

My mother moved into Connell Court just over a year ago and we are so pleased to see her happy and settled. She was very reluctant to move in despite failing health and going through a very sad loss at the time, but with the patience and sincere and professional care of the staff she is now so much
better. The atmosphere at Connell Court is friendly and happy, and we are very grateful to the management and carers who have made great efforts to engage with and understand my mother.

My mum has been at Connell Court for nearly two weeks now. I can't praise the home and staff enough, all the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. I am confident mum is getting the best care possible. My sister and I visited many homes looking for a place for mum and this is head and shoulders above
the rest.

Connell Court provided very good care for my uncle. He was an extremely private man and his lack of interest in being sociable was largely because he was virtually blind so he struggled to connect easily with staff and residents. Nevertheless, the staff grew to understand him well - particularly one
of the senior staff who was exemplary in her level of support for him.


There is no other family member in the area of Birkdale who would need the care of Connell Court but I am grateful to all the all the staff there for providing a well led and managed home for my uncle. The staff were always warm, welcoming and informative when I visited and I was able to enjoy a number of meals with him which we both truly appreciated.

I am very pleased with the loving care my mother is receiving at Connell Court. She entered the care home in November 2018 and was made welcome by the staff and other residents right from the start. She has a medical condition which is closely evaluated by the staff and the GP or medics are called in
when necessary.
I am particularly pleased with the way they communicate with me. Both by email and telephone the staff keep me posted on anything and everything happening with my mother. Also, when I call the home to find out how she is doing, everyone who picks up the phone is fully aware of my mum's status. This is particularly important to me as I live abroad and cannot visit as much as I'd like to.
