The home show all round consideration for my mum's needs and ours. I feel reassured that every care and attention is given to my mum. The staff are always friendly and try to address any concerns that are expressed in a timely manner.

We arrived at Upton Grange Care Home after a long, difficult journey to move Dad into a care home near me. We were greeted by a team of staff (including the manager) who focussed immediately on Dad's needs. Our welcome was warm, friendly and, above all, truly caring. In the three days since, Dad has settled well. I am confident he will be happy in his new environment.

Our mum entered the care home under extreme conditions during the start of Covid. We cannot praise all the staff enough for the care she had/has been given. The care home is fabulous. We, as a family, can't thank them enough for all that they do as a team for our Mum. Times have certainly been challenging for us all, but her care did not suffer. Thank you all at Upton Grange.

After viewing several residential homes, I stopped at Upton Grange to enquire about care for my mum. I was greeted with a lovely member of staff who showed me around and was really helpful. It can be such a stressful time for all the family, but they were so helpful answered all my questions. Mum has been living here for 4 weeks and I can't believe how she has settled so quickly. All the staff are so helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone who is thinking of putting their loved ones into care.

We thought we had found the perfect forever home for our father. Dad 97 with dementia, entered Upton Grange after an illness which meant a 5-week spell in hospital, he settled in remarkably well. His room was amazing, and the care staff was so attentive and caring. We were confident that all his needs were being met and he was content and happy, all was well in the world, until he, had a fall (accidents will happen) and broke his hip, re-admitted to hospital, and had surgery. 7 days after surgery he was declared medically fit and was discharged back to Upton Grange. A couple of hours after discharge I was informed, that the Management at the home had made the decision to return him to the hospital, it was felt that he could no longer be cared for at Upton Grange. The following day we were asked to clear his room. The family and more importantly Dad have been totally and utterly traumatized by these events. We cannot believe it. How quickly a chameleon can change its colour!

My mum arrived at Upton Grange on the 04.02.22. Understandably, she was very anxious and distressed; she needn't of been. All the staff were very warm and welcoming. Mum spent just over nine weeks here and settled well within hours! Would highly recommend Upton Grange; it is so much more than a care home - more like a home from home.

Staff are to be highly praised for their compassion and care. They are attentive and kind. Although the same cannot be said about the food in the way that sandwiches are usually the only option for an evening meal. The price we pay if staying in a hotel would be considered below standard. Please amend the menu! Are chefs trained?

Reply from Julie Harwood, Home Manager at Upton Grange

Thank you for taking the time to review Upton Grange, and we are pleased that you rate our staff as excellent. We will continue to liaise with you and your mum regarding our food. Our catering team regularly review our menus with our residents' input and we continue to offer hot and cold...
