Reviews

9.5 Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View has a Review Score of 9.5 (9.456)

The Review Score of 9.5 (maximum of 10) for Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 13 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.456 for Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 147 Ratings = 4.456

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 8.8 positive Reviews (44 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 11 Reviews ÷ 8.8 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother is well cared for and is safe which is a comfort to us as a family. Staff are on the whole lovely. We have had one or two issues but these were quickly addressed when raised.

Food is good. Cold drinks are available in rooms and hot drinks brought regularly.

Rooms vary- mum has a small window which she has difficulty seeing out of. She has some of her own furniture and cleaning could be a little better.

Although mum is given an all over wash daily and is bathed, I would like the latter to be more often.

I find it a good stay on the whole. The staff on night duty were really good, bringing me cups of tea when asked for one.

One or two of the carers were a bit unhelpful and impatient but on the whole, I would rate it excellent with good food. Plenty of choice as well.

My 95 year old dad has just spent his first two weeks in his first care home. He was anticipating that moment with dread. But he seems to have enjoyed it. This is because of the amazing care staff who with a blend of professionalism, good humour and dedication make what my dad thought would be a terrible experience into - really - quite a good one.
Well done all of you.

Over the last few days, my mum has been receiving end of life care. I cannot praise the staff here enough. She has had such love and care and this has been extended to us, her family, at this difficult time.

My father who suffers from Parkinson's disease and Lewy-body dementia spent three weeks of respite care at Beeston View. My mother, myself and all the family were very impressed with the care he received. The staff were excellent as were the facilities.

My mother moved to Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View Dementia Unit a few months ago suffering from dementia and a severe bed sore. The treatment at Barchester Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View Dementia Unit ensured the sore cleared up and she no longer suffered from continuous water infections. This, coupled with the patient and friendly care provided meant her last few months were not only less painful but were also less muddled and confused. she was more relaxed and far less stressed than she had been previously been.

The admission process was dealt with in a very professional manner and the support both for my mother and for us was excellent. The team are first class and show a great level of empathy with their residents as well as a clear commitment to providing a quality service in a very attractive location. They realise that making the choice to move a close relative from home based care to a home is less than easy and took the time to explain all aspects and show how they looked after their residents.

Beeston View is the dementia unit associated with Iddenshall Hall. While my father was a resident, the manager and her team provided care of the highest order. More than that, they did so in the happiest possible environment. Every member of staff I dealt with showed genuine care and even affection for my father, while checking regularly that I was content with the approach.
Every time I visited Beeston View I felt like a VIP guest - despite the difficult circumstances of dementia, it was a pleasure to visit. The bedrooms and the public areas are decorated, maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. I have visited a number of care homes over the years and Beeston View is the best, by a country mile. Senior managers at Barchester should be proud of the work the team at Beeston View are doing - I cannot commend them highly enough.
