Lauren Court care home, located in Blacon, on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Chester, provides personalised residential care to older people.

Offering luxurious accommodation, round the clock care and good home cooking, the friendly home is situated in its own grounds and has private lawn gardens and a secure patio area, a perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the weather on those summer days.

The communal areas and activities programme are also very popular at the home, including a library service, nail bar, hair salon, minibus for trips out and shopping.

My mum went into Lauren Court in February 2019, she didn't settle at first but the staff were brilliant with her, very patient and soon she was mixing with other residents.
Can't praise the staff enough from the manager to the cleaners and other members of staff. Everyone was so helpful, always greeting
you with a smile, everywhere spotlessly clean, no "institution" smell. Unfortunately, mum's health deteriorated and she didn't go back after hospital in October. A huge thank you to everyone at Lauren Court for looking after her.

The thing I keep hearing about is the food, the quality and the way it is cooked. And also some of the agency staff don't seem to know what they are doing and need more training.

I have been visiting a resident at Lauren Court for over 18 months and have always found the care excellent.
Staff are cheerful and helpful, rooms are bright and clean and the residents are well looked after and treated with kindness and respect at all times. Overall a very high standard of care.

Lauren Court is absolutely wonderful. The staff are the most patient, caring people I have ever met. They go above and beyond their actual duties and always with a kind word and smile. I couldn't recommend Lauren Court highly enough and would encourage anyone looking for care to look no further.

My mother lived here very happily for just over two years. This review reviews how the home handled my mother's illness towards the end of her life. Doctors were called quickly, I was told quickly, kept up to date as my mother went into hospital. Unfortunately, my mother died aged 95. I have no hesitation
in recommending Lauren Court as most residents may end their days here. How this is handled is key and the staff and management were brilliant.

Overall I find most things satisfactory. Since the new maintenance man was employed things have improved. I do wish carpets could be replaced by washable flooring they tend to smell. The carers are all most helpful and friendly even when working long hours.

I had two clients who were residents of Lauren Court but sadly one passed away in January 2019 at the age of ninety-eight. The members of staff including management are very friendly and the care and compassion shown by them has been exceptional.

Lauren Court Care Home is pleasantly situated surrounded by green playing fields with nice views from residents rooms and handy for Cheater. It is open plan and light with a choice of three lounges and has a hotel feel about it. My mother has been a resident for four and a half years and is now 101
years old and has benefited from the routine of regular meals and medication rounds and excellent support from the staff who are caring and create a great atmosphere.

My cousin was moved into Lauren Court from hospital. She liked the hospital and she likes Lauren Court. I have found the management and staff very friendly and helpful and my cousin finds the food very good and all but one of the staff great. So, all in all, I think I could give them five stars!

From the first visit to Luren Court Care Home I was very impressed on all levels from the manager, carers and the overall look and attitude of the staff, also the cleanliness always smells fresh, unlike some homes I have visited. My sister settled in very quickly and is happy.

My brother really felt that Lauren Court was 'home'. Initially, he only went for respite care while I went on holiday but he enjoyed it and decided he wanted to stay. The staff were very kind, friendly and have a good sense of humour. They were also very patient, this and their sense of humour was needed
in his latter days as he sadly became very anxious and demanding.

This is the second time my wife has stayed at Lauren Court for respite care. The staff are most friendly and courteous, most considerate and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. I would thoroughly recommend Lauren Court to friends and/or family at any time. Having my wife in respite care
is most beneficial to both of us - congratulations to all staff and management for their care.

Racheal Ashman

Job Title: Home Manager

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Racheal has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.


Having worked at Lauren Court for many years, Racheal closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Racheal remarked:
“Being able to empower staff and make a difference to our residents’ lives.”


Racheal is very proud of her career so far, not least her current role, and she describes it as one of her greatest achievements:
“From the age of 16 I wanted to manage my own care home. I have worked so hard to get here, and the day I got the call to say I had been successful in my interviews for the Home Manager role, and that I had reached my goal, I couldn’t have been prouder!”


Outside of work, Racheal enjoys looking after her dog, Cosmo:
“I love my dog, Cosmo, he even comes with me to work sometimes. He really enjoys meeting our wonderful residents!”
