My mother who died in December 2019 aged 100, was very content at Richmond. She was not a sociable person but quickly developed warm relationships with the staff. Their care was outstanding. The facilities are excellent but it was the attitude of all staff that made her feel cared for and safe. It should also be noted that the staff have a care for residents families also. Particularly when my mother died. We felt supported.
Thank you, Gail, for taking the time to complete this review. Your mother was very much part of the Richmond family and we hope that you will continue to be so for many years to come.
I am impressed by staff of all disciplines who are courteous, friendly and helpful, day and night.
I have lived here nearly two years. The gardens are beautiful. I enjoy the varied activities, am and pm, seven days a week, catering for different mental and physical capabilities.
Good choirs, orchestras, slide and talk shows, exercises, bridge, mahjong, whist, bowls, croquet and occasional outings.
I choose to have lunch daily in the restaurant. The choice is very good and waitresses are friendly, remembering dietary needs.
I wish to emphasise how friendly and thoughtful are all the staff, which is so important. The maintenance men respond on the same day to requests. There is transport from Monday to Friday to supermarkets for one and a half hours and also Monday to Friday to dentists, hospital and doctors as needed. I have friends in care homes in the south and east of England and have not visited any which come up to the standard here.
Excellent stay - Mum did think the room was a little small if she lived there. But she was only in for 3 weeks respite (not sure what she was expecting).
Excellent facility. Thank you.
Just perfect in every way, with many thanks to all of you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We were delighted to be able to get you "back on your feet" again and send our very best wishes!
My dad comes to stay at Richmond Village twice a year. He stays in the retreat which is lovely and has everything he needs. Staff are lovely, very approachable and always on hand if you need anything. Always something going on for my dad and he has made friends here. I feel happy knowing he has people around him when he is here.
For short stay - good.
However, what raises it from the "excellent" to the superb is the staff. Never without a smile or greeting. Nothing is too much trouble. I have seen two workers discreetly comforting a distressed/confused resident and another coaxing a reluctant eater, all with kindness and endless patience.
Therefore, the management is absolutely top rate.
Only visited for four days to sample village life with a view to buying. Staff friendly, helpful, welcoming. Village advisor friendly and informative. Grounds beautiful. Maybe office staff need help. I requested loan of pen, no spares at reception. However, one was found eventually. Repeated with a few sheets of paper. I needed to cancel three activities and found people hunting me because not cancelled in book. None of this spoiled my stay, I enjoyed it. Cost of retreat expensive, would have stayed longer.
I was grateful for the initial conversation, the way to booking was handled, the welcome given to my partner (he was reluctant to have the respite care); the care given during the week and the general atmosphere throughout the whole week was excellent. Calm, kind and helpful. The visitors were also impressed with the care and support given. Many thanks - we hope to book again in the new year.
Thank you for your review; the initial enquiry and first stay can be a little traumatic however I hope that future breaks will become a little less so allowing you both to have a rest and much-needed break.
My mother had two weeks of respite care at Richmond Nantwich following an illness in the hospital. She was very well looked after and couldn't fault any aspect. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were superb.
Thank you, for your review - we hope your mother is continuing to make a speedy recovery.
The care I received at Richmond was excellent. The staff were always very pleasant and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. I always looked forward to meal times because the food was excellent. I would not hesitate to return to Richmond if I needed either respite or permanent care in the future. No complaints at all.
Thank you so much for completing this review; your lovely comments will be passed on to all our staff.
I was very comfortable and appreciated your cheerful smiles at all times. The food was very delicious and altogether it all helped me to feel better. Will highly recommend.
Thank you - we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us!
A very attentive staff and mum will certainly be returning at some point.
Thank you so much for your lovely review; we look forward to seeing your mum again very soon!
I do not know how Richmond manage to recruit such a high standard of staff throughout, given the sectors usual problem. Predominantly local, friendly and caring.
I was in respite for a fortnight and from day one I settled in straight away by the staff who were always pleasant and very helpful. The care and attention by all was excellent. It's a beautiful place and you felt you were in a top hotel. All my visitors were very impressed. I certainly would not hesitate to return if ever I needed respite in the future.
Thank you so much for your lovely review; we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us!
My mother spent 4 weeks respite during October/November. The staff were so kind and attentive to her. She enjoyed her food and the activities, especially the afternoon entertainment. The family found visiting was a pleasure an the staff were always ready to answer any queries. We could not fault it in any way.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete this review; your comments are very much appreciated.
Fantastic care. Fantastic empathy, fantastic person-centred village. Fantastic well-being and health experience.
Thank you so much Sue - what a wonderful review!
I have spent several periods of convalescence and respite care in Richmond Nantwich since January 2010. At all times I have been completely satisfied with the care, attention and friendliness from the members of staff at every level. It cannot be faulted in any degree. The standard of furnishing, catering and cleanliness cannot be improved upon. It is a care home par excellence.
Thank you so much for your lovely review; we do hope you will come to see us very soon!
Richmond Village is our first experience of a care home for our father, who, several months ago, went from living completely independently to requiring residential care, almost overnight. The accommodation and atmosphere at Richmond Village has pleasantly surprised us all, feeling more like a hotel than a care home and making the abrupt transition from independence to care considerably less stressful than anticipated. Staff throughout seem extremely attentive and friendly, able to spend time as required with the residents, and treating them with dignity and interest; it is a relief to feel our father is in such caring and competent hands. We don't know where we'd have been without them. Visiting is a pleasure; we are always made very welcome and staff appear to know our father well. The warm and friendly atmosphere, level of care, and the comfortable and attractive environment are greatly appreciated by both our father, as a resident, and us, his family.
Thank you so much for your review Kerry; it is a pleasure having your father here and your comments are very much appreciated!

Speaking about her appointment, Abbi commented: "Everybody locally knows Richmond Villages, and people always have something positive to say about it. The feedback from residents and families really speaks for itself, and it makes you feel proud to be part of something so well thought of." "No two days are ever the same, which I love, but what really stands out is the support from the whole village team. Whether it's care staff, hospitality, housekeeping, or kitchen teams, everyone works together to make sure residents receive the highest standard of care possible."
