Thank you all for the kindness and support you have shown my parents on their recent move to you, giving our family much time, understanding and patience. Everyone shows compassion and care in a professional manner and are on hand when we need to talk. Staff worked hard to prepare for my parents' arrival
and are now building strong relationships, treating them with respect and dignity. Communication is excellent with the care home manager and team leaders, any queries are answered quickly. The environment is beautiful, including the grounds and everywhere is spotlessly clean. We can see significant investment in the quality of décor and room furnishings. Much thought has been given to the activity programme and matching the cultural needs of the residents. Yesterday's D-Day commemorations were wonderful. Your hospitality and catering is excellent. The food is of high quality with individual needs readily acknowledged. It is beautifully presented and there is a lovely choice of menu.
Reply from Allyson Attward, Manager / Head of Care at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you for the kind words and lovely review of the service that Mum, Dad and the family have received. I will share your review with the staff on the care floors and the other departments also. I am glad we have made the transition a smooth one for you all.

My mother spent the last 3 weeks of her life in Richmond Village (Nantwich) care home. She was at a time in her life when her health was failing and she was very vulnerable. The staff could not have been kinder. They went out of their way to accommodate her wishes and make her feel safe and comforted.
My sisters and I are very grateful for the care my mother received.

Thank you, for your kindness, support and professional manner in which you all took part in looking after Mum. From our first visit, we were welcomed into the warm and caring environment of Richmond, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
I was able to lift the weight from my shoulders and actually
sleep knowing Mum was being looked after 24/7. I want to thank the reception ladies the pair of them always greeted you with a smile, a cup of tea and even a biscuit. The carers who turned mum every two hours to prevent bed sores and the housekeeping team who kept everywhere spotless, with clean bedding and towels.
From school children to visiting donkeys, I have never experienced a place with so many different activities.
A special heartfelt thanks goes out to the carer, who took care of Mum right up until the very end, you certainly went that extra mile. You must love your job, for it shines through. I'm sorry I cannot remember everyone's name.
Thanks again.

My mum had multiple health problems which impacted on her physical and mental health well-being which is why she needed 24-hour care. She was very distressed regarding her loss of independence but had complete trust and confidence in all the care staff at Richmond. The kind and compassionate care of
all the team which was at all times knowledgeable and professional made my mum feel safe and secure in Richmond which became her home. During my mum’s final weeks before she died her wishes were fully respected and she was treated with the utmost dignity and kindness.
As were myself and other family members during this distressing time.
Reply from Allyson Attward, Manager / Head of Care at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you for your kind review, it is heartwarming to hear that we have given the care and support to Mum and the family. I will be sure to pass on the feedback to the staff. Kind regards.

I am submitting this review on behalf of my elderly mother who has just spent the past 2 weeks at Richmond Villages in Nantwich, she has thoroughly enjoyed her stay and felt the time had passed very quickly. Every day there is entertainment for the residents with plenty of variety and everyone is very
friendly. All the staff have been wonderful, we can’t thank them enough, nothing is too much trouble. I think Mum will miss the food, all her meals have been beautifully cooked and presented, she had a lovely room with an en-suite and a balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. She hopes to return later this year, therefore, I have no hesitation whatsoever, in recommending Richmond Villages, Nantwich.

My mother was in Richmond Village for a very short period as she was on end-of-life care. Unfortunately for mum, we left it too late to get her into Richmond Village so she could take full advantage of the facilities while her health would allow.
We cannot praise the staff enough for their professionalism
and caring approach to Mum.
They would also regularly offer a nice brew to us the visitors.

On behalf of the family, I would like to thank you and your carers for the love and care that they gave to Dad. It ensured that the final year and half of his 97 years was spent in a safe caring environment. It was with this confidence that he made the decision to remain rather than go into hospital
or hospice.

My parents came to Richmond Villages in November at quite short notice as they weren't coping. The staff right from the start have been incredible. Communication is excellent and right across all members of the team it is clear that everyone is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to the
residents.
Sadly, my mum died at Christmas. The care that my Dad is now receiving is beyond what we could ever imagine and once again all members of the team are pulling together to watch out for him as he adjusts to his loss. Special mention to the staff in the care home. I must mention the staff member who heads up the hospitality team and oversees catering and service quite superbly. Could not recommend Richmond Villages enough.

I should have met up with management before I came in. I knew nothing about it, not even how much they charge! Took a month to settle down, but very good staff encouraging me all the way.
Reply from Allyson Attward, Manager / Head of Care at Richmond Villages NantwichHello, we are sorry to hear that you hadn't had the opportunity to meet with the management prior to moving in the care home. But, since moving in you have met with the manager. It is unfortunate that the booking was made by your family and not yourself. It is nice to see that you are enjoying yourself, being in the company of others, and we are happy that you have extended your stay.

My mother resided at Richmond Village Nantwich from June 2019 until she passed away in January 2023. She has a lovely room at Richard Village looking out onto gardens that were beautifully maintained. The care provided by the staff was exceptional and it was lovely to see the same carers still there
from year to year. They all got to know my mum well and were very much in tune with what she needed. Despite my mum not being very positive about socialising and activities, the staff continued to gently encourage her to mix socially and try new things which she always enjoyed in the end. Mum enjoyed the fact that she could choose to eat in her room or in the dining room. Both her en-suite room and the entire building were kept immaculately clean and were beautifully furnished throughout. When Mum first moved to Richmond Village, she had some mobility issues and age-related memory loss. Towards the end of her stay, she was unable to leave her bed and sadly had dementia. Regardless of her health and abilities the care extended to her was wonderful and I am so glad that we chose Richmond Village.

I spent a month in respite here after having a difficult operation on a hip replacement this was February 2022 I went back to my home then had another difficult time, depression and a stroke when I ended up in hospital. Fortunately Richmond Care Home was able to offer me another space/room. I was in
despair and the whole place with the wonderful staff offered me support, care, time for me to talk out the issues, good food, opportunities to share in with activities and learning to join in and move on to laugh and find joy in life. Thank you. You have all been such giving people, understanding and responding to my needs. I am ready to move on but want to stay as independent but within the caring family of Richmond. This is hope for a mid-80-year-old with a happy family without overwhelming my ageing demands

My 95-year-old father has been at Richmond Villages Nantwich for about six months now, having arrived to convalesce after a hospital stay following a broken hip, followed by Covid then pneumonia. The staff have been extremely supportive allowing him to settle in, then gradually encouraging him to participate
in more activities as he grew stronger, more confident and recovered his health. He has complete trust in the levels of care and all the staff that he encounters at Nantwich. And as a keen cook and baker, he fully appreciates and welcomes the food that he receives. We regularly join Dad for lunch in the restaurant and the Bread and Butter pudding, in particular, is excellent!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.830) out of 10 for Richmond Villages Nantwich is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.830 for Richmond Villages Nantwich is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 353 Ratings = 4.83
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Richmond Villages Nantwich is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
