The care and attention given to each individual resident is of an extremely high standard. Residents never feel rushed and are treated with kindness and affection. Nothing is too much trouble and all staff, from the cleaners to management, will always strive to ensure my mum is looked after and all
her needs are met. There are lots of activities to socialise without anyone having to sit round the edge of a large room watching TV. Lots of lovely relaxing areas making it home from home.

My wife and I went from one care home to another for a change of scenery. We found the staff very caring and friendly. We could have wished for more communal activities to share with other residents and be stimulated rather than left to our own devices - watching T.V.
Reply from Nicola Jackson, Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you for taking the time to fill out this questionnaire. As a more established village, we do not have the same leisure facilities that many of our newer villages enjoy such as spas, dedicated activity rooms and swimming pools however we do our very best to provide a stimulating and varied social diary for all our residents. I hope that you will come back and visit us again, perhaps coinciding your visit with one of our bigger events details of which can be found on our website.

My 81-year-old mother and I visited Richmond Nantwich for a respite retreat weekend.

My mum is registered disabled. The staff were very attentive, professional and supportive. The meals provided, quality of service and menu options were plentiful. The standard of accommodation exceeded our expectations.

My mum felt very relaxed during her stay and her needs were met with the care staff being on hand 24/7. I was able to bring along my pet dog and when mum was relaxing, we'd go off for a nice walk into the town centre and the beautiful riverside and to see the bird sanctuary. A lovely weekend was had, very restorative. Thank you.

Apart from two assistants, the staff were excellent and most polite. The room provided had problems:

Too small - no comfortable chair.
Two hangers (one a battered wire one).
Double bedspread on a single bed - dangerous overhanging.
TV problems, many.

But good outlet, view.
On the whole good

food, particularly soups and puddings.
Reply from Nicola Jackson, Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Villages NantwichDear Mrs F,
Thank you for your review.
I am aware that a member of staff spoke to you whilst you were here to explain that the room allocated was one of our standard respite rooms. Many of our rooms have recently been extended to include outside patios and balconies but these are occupied by our longer term residents.
The chair provided is common to all rooms and I am sorry that you did not find this comfortable. The bedspread is actually a single but I understand your concerns regarding a trip hazard and these have been passed on to our Hospitality Manager, as has your comment regarding the TV (although we are a little unclear as to your precise meaning).
It is kind of you to compliment the food; we have many excellent comments about the choice and quality we offer. I am sorry that you found two assistants unhelpful; we do our utmost to ensure that the same excellent customer service is offered to everyone and I can only apologise for this.
I hope that you are now feeling rested and if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

The care of our elderly parents at Richmond Nantwich was excellent. They were clean and in clean clothes, every day, which we are sure added to their well-being and dignity. The food we believe was the best and my father-in-law actually put on weight.
The staff were friendly and helpful and communicated
with us when there was a problem. We would highly recommend Richmond Nantwich for all these reasons and the cleanliness of the whole area was good despite building work going on.
Reply from Nicola Morgan-Parker, Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you so much for your lovely review - it is lovely to hear that you are so happy with the support and care that they received whilst here. I hope that we see them both again very soon.

I spent a week in the care unit following spinal surgery. I have no complaints about any of the care I received.
Although there was work going on externally, the workmen were considerate.
The food was of a good nutritious quality. The catering staff were kind and courteous,
The care staff were excellent
and offered help when needed. I was not afraid to ask for anything a really good standard. A little bit expensive but you pay for excellence.

Accommodation, food etc is all good but the highlight is the attentiveness of the staff offering a level of care over and above that which is strictly required.

My father is now in his sixth week following hospital discharge directly to Richmond his care has been exemplary during periods of exacerbated illness. During times when he has felt well, the staff have been very encouraging to include him in socialising and attending activities whilst my father would
love to be in his own home Richmond has provided the next best thing.

We visited to take my Mother-in-law home for Christmas and Boxing day. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient preparing medication etc. The care home is beautiful and luxurious - When can I move in?
The weird wooden drummer sculpture in the garden is very creepy - gives me nightmares.
Reply from Nicola Morgan-Parker, Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you so much for your review - we will keep a room for you! The wooden toy soldier is one of those things that you either love or hate (don't tell anyone but I agree with you!) - I hope you liked the other decorations, though!

We needed as a family, palliative care for my mother and we looked at Richmond Nantwich on the internet. We rang up, made an appointment to see inside and the room that was available. My mother was assured and accepted. From September to mid-November, my mother had 100% care here. The staff are wonderful
and so caring without making my mother feel that she was deteriorating. It gave my father and I peace of mind that mother was being looked after. From the senior care lead down to the breakfast staff, to the cooks and cleaners, it is an exceptional and very special place.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.830) out of 10 for Richmond Villages Nantwich is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.830 for Richmond Villages Nantwich is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 353 Ratings = 4.83
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Richmond Villages Nantwich is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
