I have been in my flat now for almost three years. I have always found the staff at reception very very helpful. I have found the staff everywhere friendly and considerate.
The whole area inside and out is spotless and the food good. Things have improved in general this year with freshly decorated
reception and dining areas. It is the kindness that people of our age need and that is in evidence here.

Very welcoming - Grounds and buildings well maintained and decorated. All staff, obviously motivated and trained in customer care. Medical staff knowledgeable and approachable. My mother has established an good rapport with a number of staff. Medication always provided as prescribed. Any medical
illnesses are noted and I am informed: e.g. illnesses and falls. Visits to the doctors or hospital appointments are arranged and undertaken by Richmond if relatives not available. Food and drink provided as required and good quality. Plenty of provision for activities.

A delightful retirement Village, immaculately kept with a homely and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are helpful, friendly, polite and the facilities are excellent. The gardens in particular are just lovely.
Reply from Sian Walker-Hirst, Village Advisor at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you so much for your review R S. It is always a pleasure to hear how friendly and polite our staff are. We are also very lucky to have such a wonderful gardening team and the many awards from North West in Bloom over the years are testament to how much work they put into their upkeep. Thanks Again.

When mother first moved in, she wasn't allowed to have a bath. We approached management and this has now been resolved, in a friendly, professional manner.

Overall Richmond is very pleasant and welcoming.
The staff are always cheerful. The cleanliness and general upkeep is good. The care and attention to my fathers needs is excellent. The food is well prepared and there is a good choice of menu. Although my father is independent living, carers will "look
in" on him to ensure he is okay. This is great peace of mind for me to know that he is well looked after.
Reply from Sian Walker-Hirst, Village Adiviser at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you so much for taking the time to review Richmond. We are delighted that your Father is happy and receiving excellent standards of care and support in his suite.

The care home is well maintained and decorated. The staff are good, kind, friendly and generally efficient. My mum's room is adequate, the main sitting and bed area could be cleaner, but the bathroom is always clean.
The food is good, varied and well presented. The entertainment, events and classes
are excellent. There is often something for the residents to do. The gardens are lovely, with good seated areas. The care given by the staff has improved in the last 12 months.
Reply from Sian Walker-Hirst, Village Adviser at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you for your review Mrs Cope. We have noted your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the sitting area in your Mother's room so we can rectify this. We are delighted you and your Mother find our staff friendly and that our levels of care have improved over the last 12 months. We are always looking to improve every aspect of Richmond and your feedback enables us to do this, thanks again.

The home itself is very well decorated but that does not mean good care. For the money my mother is paying, I expect more attention to the bed making and the cleaning away of dishes and the standard and variation of food needs drastic action in our opinion. My mother loves it there but did expect a
lot more attention to little details. The staff are friendly but at times lacking in their job.

My mother has recently moved to 24 hour care and could not be happier. She enjoys speaking to the very cheerful and caring staff, together with the endless cups of tea and regular meals. Her main comment is 'You'll never starve in this place!!!'

A wonderful happy environment.

I have written a separate testimonial for the care. The standard of care, attention and friendliness there is crucial to my mother's physical and mental wellbeing. Another area to be recommended is the entertainment. Over the last couple of years there have been regular activities catering for a variety
of interests. Events and visiting acts are generally of a high quality and suited to the age bracket. The gardens are a unique and special feature for which unsurprisingly awards have been won. Richmond is generally well run. Management are approachable and listen to concerns. In terms of the environment it is clearly attractive and comfortable. The catering has improved significantly over the last year which is important as residents enjoy meal times.

Coming to live in Richmond village was one of the vest decisions I have ever made. I have been here now for three years and have never had a problem that couldn't be resolved. The staff are without exception kind and helpful. I think they go above and beyond what could be expected of them. The property
I have (an apartment) is attractive and comfortable and the surrounding gardens and leisure area are kept superbly well. I would recommend Richmond Village to everyone.

A lovely environment, beautiful gardens. Excellent standard of decoration and cleanliness. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff very caring and encouraging to my mother. They walk her every day to keep her mobile - they are very patient. Meals are good and she is taken
to a lovely dining room in a wheelchair. It overlooks the bowling green.

I write to recommend the 5 star Richmond Village Care Centre where my wife haw been a resident for 21 months. For the past 10 months she has been incapacitated and confined to bed on an air mattress. She can no longer feed herself and requires feeding a soft diet only and plenty of fluids. In 2012 she
fractured her left humerus which required surgery and sadly an anaesthetic cock up resulted in her becoming doubly incontinent so that changing her requires 2 carers each time. In 2014 she fractured her right humerus which could not be repaired. I visit her for 4 hours a day. I am a retired consultant.

Both my parents are in this home, this is both their third home and the difference from the others is outstanding:
1. Excellent, warm welcome from staff and management.
2. Quality of rooms and lounge/dining areas - excellent.
3. Interest and care shown to both parents - excellent, follow-up appointments
care concerns all updated smoothly and efficiently by staff and management. Regular calls made to family updating them on GP visits/medication/health/mobility changes and concerns.
4. Quality of food is excellent. Lovely home cooked smells and flavour to meals. Meal/size and care taken with vegetables sizes to ensure eating enjoyable and not a hazard.
5. Thoughtful activities such as bingo relating to the age etc.
6. Residents able to sit outside and watch the world go by, as sun protection in gazebo in front garden, regular drinks and sun screen available to residents who can experience a reasonable time enjoying the surrounding area. Such a tonic and feel good factor all round for both family and residents.
7. Lovely relaxed home atmosphere and both my parents recent entry to the home in Feb/April 2016 has helped them settle in and relax and enjoy being well cared for. A quest for both family and loved ones over the last three years and all can look forward to enjoyment the rest of their lives - worry free - highly recommended.
Reply from Nicola Morgan-Parker, Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Villages NantwichThank you so much for your wonderful comments; we are delighted that your parents have settled in so well. Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.830) out of 10 for Richmond Villages Nantwich is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.830 for Richmond Villages Nantwich is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 353 Ratings = 4.83
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Richmond Villages Nantwich is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
