As a resident, for 16 years I have been very happy. My wife (deceased) was cared for by the TLC of a very good are staff at all times. In my opinion, she was helped to be reasonably happy and pain-free despite severe attacks of Trigeminal neuralgia. She was wheelchair bound and bed bound for over 40 years with progressive MS.

I have been in my flat now for almost three years. I have always found the staff at reception very very helpful. I have found the staff everywhere friendly and considerate.

The whole area inside and out is spotless and the food good. Things have improved in general this year with freshly decorated reception and dining areas. It is the kindness that people of our age need and that is in evidence here.

Very welcoming - Grounds and buildings well maintained and decorated. All staff, obviously motivated and trained in customer care. Medical staff knowledgeable and approachable. My mother has established an good rapport with a number of staff. Medication always provided as prescribed. Any medical illnesses are noted and I am informed: e.g. illnesses and falls. Visits to the doctors or hospital appointments are arranged and undertaken by Richmond if relatives not available. Food and drink provided as required and good quality. Plenty of provision for activities.

A delightful retirement Village, immaculately kept with a homely and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are helpful, friendly, polite and the facilities are excellent. The gardens in particular are just lovely.

Thank you so much for your review R S. It is always a pleasure to hear how friendly and polite our staff are. We are also very lucky to have such a wonderful gardening team and the many awards from North West in Bloom over the years are testament to how much work they put into their upkeep. Thanks Again.

Overall Richmond is very pleasant and welcoming.

The staff are always cheerful. The cleanliness and general upkeep is good. The care and attention to my fathers needs is excellent. The food is well prepared and there is a good choice of menu. Although my father is independent living, carers will "look in" on him to ensure he is okay. This is great peace of mind for me to know that he is well looked after.

The care home is well maintained and decorated. The staff are good, kind, friendly and generally efficient. My mum's room is adequate, the main sitting and bed area could be cleaner, but the bathroom is always clean.

The food is good, varied and well presented. The entertainment, events and classes are excellent. There is often something for the residents to do. The gardens are lovely, with good seated areas. The care given by the staff has improved in the last 12 months.

Reply from Sian Walker-Hirst, Village Adviser at Richmond Villages Nantwich

Thank you for your review Mrs Cope. We have noted your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the sitting area in your Mother's room so we can rectify this. We are delighted you and your Mother find our staff friendly and that our levels of care have improved over the last 12 months. We are always looking to improve every aspect of Richmond and your feedback enables us to do this, thanks again.

The home itself is very well decorated but that does not mean good care. For the money my mother is paying, I expect more attention to the bed making and the cleaning away of dishes and the standard and variation of food needs drastic action in our opinion. My mother loves it there but did expect a lot more attention to little details. The staff are friendly but at times lacking in their job.

My mother has recently moved to 24 hour care and could not be happier. She enjoys speaking to the very cheerful and caring staff, together with the endless cups of tea and regular meals. Her main comment is 'You'll never starve in this place!!!'

A wonderful happy environment.

I have written a separate testimonial for the care. The standard of care, attention and friendliness there is crucial to my mother's physical and mental wellbeing. Another area to be recommended is the entertainment. Over the last couple of years there have been regular activities catering for a variety of interests. Events and visiting acts are generally of a high quality and suited to the age bracket. The gardens are a unique and special feature for which unsurprisingly awards have been won. Richmond is generally well run. Management are approachable and listen to concerns. In terms of the environment it is clearly attractive and comfortable. The catering has improved significantly over the last year which is important as residents enjoy meal times.
