My nana has been in this care home for nearly 2 years now and she has honestly never been happier, she's back to her old loving self even though she has dementia. She loves it in here and the staff are so good with her. The staff are nice, caring and honestly, I couldn't imagine my nana anywhere else. There's such a loving welcoming feel around the care home.

My godmother was in this nursing home for a short time for palliative care. From the time she arrived, she has been cared for wonderfully, with compassion and dignity. Sadly she passed away peacefully. The staff were excellent and so kind. They kept me informed at all times and extremely flexible, such a lovely feel around the home, such a light and airy feel. So glad that her last days were in such a lovely place.

My mum is in this care home and has been for a few years now. From the moment she first arrived, she has been cared for really well with compassion and dignity. My mum's needs are always put first and nothing is too much trouble for the team.
It's clear from the regular communications and reviews that I have received that my mum's health and well-being are well-monitored by the team. Medically she's never been as well looked after.
The care home itself has a flexible visitor policy, I can turn up anytime during the day without an appointment to visit. The staff just go about their business as normal and it all feels relaxed and homely as a care home can. It certainly feels a lot nicer than the other care homes that my dad used in his last years.

In summary, I highly recommend Preston Private as a care home, my mum doesn't know how lucky she is.

From the initial phone call enquiring about palliative care for my father, I knew that I could trust Preston Private. Making such a decision about entrusting the care of your father to others is a huge one, my brother and I and all our family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff we encountered during the three weeks we were at Preston Private, every one of you helped us cope with the situation in a much easier way. You were always smiley, and caring and always had a can-do attitude. Your professionalism shone through, it was evident just how hard you work for your residents, as well as the support and care you offer the families, we all felt your support and strength. The attention shown to residents, the quality of care, and the cleanliness of the home and facilities were excellent. All staff members should be proud of the service you provide, we will be forever grateful to have chosen you for the final part of my father's journey. Thank you most sincerely.

My mum was placed here following a stroke, she was waiting for rehabilitation but that location had Norovirus and couldn't take her. Preston Private took her in. The home was clean every time I visited, my mum was well-fed. She enjoyed the church services and some of the activities. We've definitely lost some items that have gone to the laundry and not returned. Staff were friendly and helpful during a difficult time for us when we were struggling to get communication from social services. My mum enjoyed having her hair cut and her nails done.

My mother is very well cared for. All the staff are friendly and attentive to her needs. Her room is kept clean and maintained, her clothes are laundered regularly.
The food is good, but not very imaginative and not a lot of variation.

Activities are available, but not to my mother's taste. Hopefully, the minibus will have a driver soon and days out can be arranged, which my mother will enjoy.

My mum-in-law is very settled and happy in her new home. The staff are always kind and caring, encouraging her to mix even though she can be very reluctant to do so. Any small issues are dealt with immediately.

The furniture in her room is a bit shabby and could do with being replaced.

Meet Lisa – Unit Lead, Ladywell Residential Unit

I began my journey in the care sector in 2016 as a Care Assistant, driven by a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. After gaining valuable hands-on experience, I completed my Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and progressed to the role of Senior Carer on the Ferny Unit (Dementia Unit). This period greatly enhanced my clinical knowledge and gave me a deeper understanding of care within a wider healthcare context. Upon returning to Preston Private, I was proud to help support the opening of the high-needs residential Ladywell Unit as a Senior, and shortly after, I was given the opportunity to step into the role of Unit Lead, a position I genuinely love and take pride in.

I am passionate about delivering excellent, person-centred care to our residents and strive to create a warm, supportive environment for both residents and their families, especially during difficult times when important decisions need to be made.

Being a part of the Preston Private team means everything to me. I am committed to continuous learning, leading by example, and ensuring every resident receives the respect, dignity, and quality of life they deserve.
