Starr Hills

I first came to Starr Hills about 18 months ago visiting a friend weekly she passed away unfortunately last September I became a volunteer and now come each Tuesday morning to chat to the residents I truly love it... It's a wonderful place to be such lovely staff a happy atmosphere and I can see how the residents are so well looked after I hope I cheer them up like they do me!!

We have been extremely impressed by all the love and care Starr Hills has shown my grandparents since they became residents here. The staff have gone above and beyond to cater for their needs and have been helpful, approachable and friendly. We are truly grateful for their kindness, my grandparents are safe, happy and thriving in this wonderful caring joyful environment. Thank you isn't enough to express my gratitude for all the staff.

I had a friend who was residing in Starr Hills for 3 years; she was 103 when she passed. I have been a volunteer for a year. I find the home friendly caring clean. lots of actvities and stimulation. All residents seem happy. I enjoy working here.

My overall opinion of the home is that it provides a good level of care. There are interesting activities organised for us to participate in. The staff are generally supportive and helpful with positive enthusiastic outlooks.

The Activities provided are of a high standered and well thought out for each person there is somthing happening throughout the day for everyone if they wish to join in

Just the most exacting standards applied by the whole operation.....a very happy resident who interacts with the facility in a way that they are friends rather than staff . Mum loves it here; it suits her down ro the ground !!

I have a friend who is a resident of Starr Hills. He went there after a traumatic period in his life, following a series of illnesses. The staff and care has been amazing and he is now feeling much better. He still needs the ongoing care and support but he is so much more confident and most importantly he feels safe.

We are very pleased that our mother has settled in so well and we are more than happy with the care she is receiving. The staff are excellent, the home is welcoming and there is a very good selection of activities.

Starr Hills is a wonderful care home. They welcome me to support their residents during activities and enjoy wholesome afternoons with other professionals supporting music and mindfulness, a regular singer, coffee morning, summer fayre etc. The residents are happy and comfortable and it's rewarding to be involved with this great team.

Star Hills is an outstanding care home in every way. What a relief to find a home that takes such good care of its residents. Families can rest knowing loved ones are well cared for and happy. Smiling faces everywhere, great communication with other professionals when needed. Manager Phillipa is wonderful and leads her staff as a wonderful role model. The home is well organised, professional and compassionate. Family are always made welcome, and facilities are great. The food is brilliant, very high standard, and the activities are great, 10/10 in all areas.

Arriving here is like a dream, getting brilliant help all day and night. All my needs and wants are dealt with by wonderful, kind staff who cannot do anymore for me. What a wonderful place. The food is perfect, enjoy every meal. Thank you so much Star Hills!!

Being here is the next place to being home. Staff are all so very kind and cannot do enough for you. Always a smiley face. Loving the meals, all fresh and lots of choice.

The environment created by the staff team felt warm, caring and engaging. The staff felt very attuned to how best to support my friend with dignity.

Not once in the past two months have I found any fault with the staff, I visit every morning and at no time have I found any faults with the staff, in my opinion they go above within duties. I cannot express my appreciation for the care given to my partner.

I was so worried about my mum going into care and Phillipa and her team made the process of her moving in so calm, professional and caring. I absolutely am over the moon with the love and care she has received. I'm so happy we picked this one, it's beautiful.

The staff could not have been more pleasant, helpful or friendly if they had been looking after their own grandad. Food has been excellent with a varied menu. Too much pork for me personally. The entertainment has been fun and informative. If the need arises would I come back, yes!

My Mother has been a resident at Starr Hills since 2018 and it is satisfying to know that she is in a safe and caring environment. I appreciate that during this period that she has been welcomed into the community and has the companionship of other residents.

Our dad has been a resident at Starr Hills since Oct 2024. Following a 3 month stay in hospital last year, he had lost the ability (and confidence) to walk and still hadn't made a full recovery prior to arriving at Starr Hills. In the first few weeks the improvement in our dad's health was nothing short of a miracle. He went from strength to strength. The care and support he received from all the staff was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble. Dad loved it so much that he decided not to return to his house and to make Starr Hills his new home. That care and support has continued and now he can walk as fast as me albeit with a walker. He is happy, well and content. He takes part in the activities which he really enjoys and appreciates the friendships he has made with both carers and residents. Our family will always be eternally grateful to Starr Hills as without them we are not sure he would have fully recovered. You have all given him a new lease of life and we couldn't be happier
