Starr Hills is wonderful. It feels more like a hotel than a care home. At 90, my mum was apprehensive about moving out of her own home, but she absolutely loves it there and she feels completely safe. She loves the community, the activities which give her a buzz of stimulation she had previously been
missing. The home is always fresh and spotlessly clean and well-staffed by dedicated, friendly carers and management who are constantly ensuring that everyone's needs and wishes are met and that their individuality is respected and supported. The rooms are lovely, the food is excellent. I honestly can't speak highly enough about Starr Hills. I feel so fortunate to have got my mum in there and I am so grateful to the Starr Hills team for looking after her so well.

I find Starr Hills to be very friendly and welcoming. The staff are very helpful and make things really nice for the residents and will help and support individuals when any problems occur.

Our recent stay at Starr Hills surpassed already high expectations. Prior to living there the residential home was highly regarded for providing individual care on the Fylde coast. It is clear that Starr Hills supports the dignity and respect of residents; their personal wishes and preferences are maintained
and placed first. Star Hills feels like a home from home in a superb location. We are able to join in lively events, entertainments and activities led by dedicated personnel who contribute to the enjoyable atmosphere of wellbeing apparent to visitors. The whole home is bright and clean and well decorated with spacious communal areas for relaxing or greeting visitors. The attention to detail in the provision of support for residents is excellent. The consensus amongst family friends and neighbours is the stay has been a great success and this is testimony to every member of the caring team.

My grandfather has been a resident at Starr Hills for a number of years, and I feel that his care could not be in better hands. The staff are all competent and have an excellent rapport with the residents. The level of care is simply outstanding and Start Hills continually find new ways to stimulate

My father has been a resident at Starr Hills for almost six years and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff that care for Dad. He is treated with respect and genuine affection. He feels safe and secure, he is occupied, he is happy and I feel his life has certainly been extended and enriched since
he made the decision to move into Starr Hills.


Dad recently had a slight stroke which necessitated him going to hospital, urgently. The procedures put into place at Starr Hills meant Dad received immediate attention, an ambulance was summoned and I was informed in a very efficient, but sensitive way. When we returned, thankfully later that day with Dad, there were staff waiting to welcome him back home. I had no hesitation in leaving Dad that evening, confident that he would be regularly looked in on through the night and should there be any change in him then I would be notified immediately.
Starr Hills is a very special place and I am so grateful that it is my father’s home.

Starr Hills is an excellent residential care home. All the staff are friendly and take time to chat with my Dad and also help him with whatever he needs from bathing, dressing or helping him walk. The food is good and the residents are always given a choice. The men sit together for meals and often
sit and talk together both during and after meals which my Dad enjoys. There are lots of different and varied activities organised for the residents and my father enjoys participating in the quizzes as well as the trips out. The rooms are well kept and my Dad was able to move into a fully ensuite, spacious and sunny room with a view of the garden. When my father moved in he was encouraged to bring some of his own furniture, photos and ornaments to make his room feel like home. There is even parking for his mobility scooter that allows my Dad independence to go out shopping. My Dad has settled in well and I know he is being very well cared for.

Starr Hills is a very caring home. The staff work so hard to make it a happy and comfortable place to live. Starr Hills was Mum's home. The staff treated her so kindly and carefully and with great respect. Mum loved the interesting talks, quizzes and crosswords and all the staff had time to chat and
often had a laugh with her! She had an interesting and varied menu, always being asked what she would like. Starr Hills unfailingly has something going on. There are many activities and small outings for all tastes and decorations go up for all the festivals and events. Mum also loved the animals - the cat, fish and the chicken. The house is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, the gardens a treat to potter in and the coffee shop and library are a lovely addition. Mum had a very happy and fulfilled time here. Thank you!

This was the first time I had used respite facilities and I was quite nervous going into a care home for the first time. However, I need not have worried, the staff and other residents were all very welcoming and friendly. The home was spotlessly clean, the food lovely and the activities helped to pass
the time. I was allowed my privacy and dignity in a safe friendly environment.

Clean and welcoming, well kept home and gardens. Friendly staff who respect their residents wishes and provide care that maintains residents' dignity. Lots of optional activities to attend. Weekly Methodist service. Hairdresser on site several days a week. Keen to keep relatives involved. Listen
to concerns and act on them.
Choice of menus to eat in light and airy dining room or in own room if preferred. Plenty of help for less mobile residents.
Most bedrooms are quite small but all are en suite. The communal areas are spacious and very pleasant.

This is the second review I have left for Starr Hills but I think this is appropriate as my father's needs have changed since he first went to stay there almost two years ago. I want to thank all the staff for the way in which they have responded to his needs. My father had a short stay in hospital
recently and this brought home to me the way in which he feels safe and cared for in Starr Hills, which was obvious from his joy when he was able to return to his friends there. Making the decision to find residential care for a loved relative will always be difficult but I can't thank everyone at Starr Hills enough for all their help over the last two years - I have been left in no doubt that we made the right decision.

I have been very impressed with the high quality of care provided to my Mum during her stay at Starr Hills. She has a comfortable, well furnished en-suite room and most importantly the staff are professional, caring and attentive. Mum has been enjoying the meals and the varied activities available.


There are various locations where residents can sit and chat or take part in activities and an attractive dining room. Whilst her stay so far has been during winter months, she's looking forward to taking advantage of the pleasant gardens and outdoor areas once the better weather arrives.


I take great comfort from the fact that she is safe, secure and very well cared for in a pleasant environment that ensures that she is treated with dignity, entertained and stimulated.

We have been delighted with the care that our father is receiving at Starr hills. The home is very welcoming and it has a lovely homely, happy feel to it. It is always well staffed and every member of staff is friendly, kind and helpful. There is nearly always an event of some kind taking place whether
it’s an organ recital, entertainment, quiz, crossword, craft club. (We actually find it hard to work out when to visit him, he’s doing so much). Having said that there is no pressure at all to join in.
We have noticed how much happier dad is since moving in and how well he is looking. There is plenty of stimulation and everyone is happy to have a little chat with him. He is very pleased with the lovely meals he is getting and with the great laundry service.
As dad said, it’s everything he thought he didn’t want but he is so happy he came here. It’s given him a new lease of life and it’s such a relief for us to know that he is well cared for and safe.

My grandmother has settled in well at Star Hills. They treat the residents with respect and take care of them extremely well, whilst still allowing them to maintain as much independence as they are able. The activities are frequent and enjoyable and the care home is spacious and well kept. We have had
no problems whatsoever in the time my grandmother has been a resident here.

I have been delighted by the care given to my father by the staff in Starr Hills. They are considerate and attentive providing a home for him, where their primary concern is not him adjusting to their routines but rather they are eager to meet his needs and wishes as far as humanly possible. It is this
attention to detail coupled with their high respect for dignity, which in my view, makes them truly outstanding as they strive to provide a unique home for their residents. They offer a full and wide-ranging programme of daily activities or the staff will chat with residents over a cup of tea if that is more appropriate - this is an extremely caring and compassionate home where nothing is too much trouble.

The overall standard is excellent, the staff are helpful and friendly and there is a good feeling when you arrive. Relatives are made to feel welcome. The care home is well staffed and clean. My father enjoys the food and the menu is varied with a light lunch and larger main meal at 5 pm.
There is
always a member of staff available to help with any queries be it medical or administrative. The entertainment is well thought out with something for everyone.
A calendar of events is posted at the beginning of every week. There is a pleasant and private garden attached to the home where residents and relatives can enjoy the good weather. The home was recommended to us by the son of a current resident and we were lucky enough to get a room for Dad.

Since my Aunt and her friend moved into Starr Hills two months ago their overall health and mental outlook have improved greatly. The staff have been really welcoming and friendly as well as extremely efficient in their work. The place is spotless and feels more like a friendly hotel than a care home.
Both ladies say the food is excellent and they are extremely impressed with the laundry and care service. It feels a very happy place where nothing is too much trouble.
My Aunts' friend recently had her 90th birthday and despite the fact she had been there only a few weeks the staff made a tremendous effort, giving her gifts and looking after the many visitors who turned up to see her. The many activities help my Aunt mix with others. In particular, she enjoys the religious service. She has also benefitted from help to use the computer to contact her brother in New Zealand. The residents' committee and newsletter help residents to have a say in how the home is run. Well done Starr Hills.

I have nothing but high praise for every aspect of Starr Hills. All members of staff are warm, welcoming and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. The interior is comfortable, stylish, clean and smells lovely. The aromas from the kitchen are also lovely and the dining room is light and welcoming.
As a visitor now, I am always made to feel welcome and refreshments are always offered. Being able to bring in my friend's little dog too is a lovely touch and is a real tonic for my friend who misses him greatly. It is also really good that apart from my friend's room, there are other places that we can sit in, the coffee bar, beautiful garden or the lounge. I also know that my friend is benefitting from the numerous activities on offer and also the chance for a bit of pampering too.

My mum has been in Starr Hills for almost 3 years and the standard of care has been excellent. It was no surprise they recently received an Outstanding in a CQC inspection. Staff are kind and professional and carry out all necessary care with a good heart. My mum received the best of care and it became
her home from home. Her nursing needs increased and we had to move her which was devastating for me.
