Whilst my mother has dementia, she is happy and loves her carers, also with her challenges, she is actively involved in social activities. My mother also has a good varied diet, again due to her illness, she is supported on a one to one basis at mealtimes. With her condition, she is treated with love, support and dignity and comes across as happy.

My mum suffers from middle-stage Alzheimer's disease. She is unable to care for herself safely and so lived with me and my family following my dad's death. Recently, she had a stroke which took away all her mobility which subsequently meant I was no longer able to care for her in my home. I chose Wordsworth House after viewing many residential homes. The home has a pleasant relaxing homely feel. I have no regrets over my choice. The last year has been very challenging with the lockdown. Fortunately, we had 3 or 4 weeks of daily visits with Mum before lockdown restrictions. During this time, I got to know some of the staff quite well. I found them all kind, friendly and genuinely caring for all their residents. To have Mum in residential care and feel that she is cared for with dignity, respect and compassion and is safe and well, means the world to me and my family.

My mum has been residing at Wordsworth House care home for 6 years. She has severe dementia and is cared for extremely well. I have always found staff members to be very caring and look after my mum so well, even when she doesn't make it easy for them. I haven't been able to physically see her in nearly 12 months but the staff have kept me informed of how she is doing. I can highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for dementia care.

My husband has had the best care anyone could expect in this lovely care home, Wordsworth House.
The love and care my husband gets is just wonderful.
My mother spent three years here at Wordsworth House, she too was happy here, just like my husband, the staff really make him so happy.

My husband was at end of life when in hospital, we didn't want to lose him, the staff have got him back on his feet once again by feeding him and making sure his drinks are there and taking him into rooms etc including him in games.

Mum has been living here approx 9 weeks and seems to have adapted very well to her new environment. The staff have been very welcoming and the manager is very approachable. One of the considerations for mum was to be able to take her little dog with her, as they had never been separated in 10 years, and this was considered carefully by the management and they now live together as though at home. One bonus is that the home is purpose built.

My father was placed into care in December 2017. It has been a distressing time for our family. The positive in all of this has been the support and care from the team at Wordsworth House.
From the manager, deputy manager, care workers, catering team and the wonderful maintenance man, our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. They have taken every step to help Dad settle in and have provided support and reassurance to our whole family.

It has helped us all to cope with a major change in our lives and we are grateful to all at Wordsworth House for the fantastic job they do.

I visit my friend who is a resident every week. He always seems well cared for and happy that all his needs are being met.

A small group of us from church have been invited by the activities coordinator to take a short service once a month for the residents which my friend appreciates very much.

When a neighbour was told she would have to go into a residential home she was very reluctant and upset about the decision. After a stay in hospital she arrived at the house and settled very well and enjoyed her stay, she never mentioned her own home or wanting to return there. The staff are very friendly and helpful, she made friends with them all. When after a short stay she passed away, we went to tidy the room and the help we received was wonderful, we were invited to the Christmas Party.

My mother has advanced Alzheimer's and was placed at Wordsworth House for 2 weeks respite whilst my father, her full-time carer, dealt with his own medical issues.
At the conclusion of the respite, the family decided to make my mother's place permanent.
She settled in well, the staff give her friendly, personal and professional care.
The staff are always welcoming when the family visit, ready to update us with my mother's well being.
They are always on hand to ensure my mother's dignity and well being are looked after.

A truly friendly, caring, professional environment.

I have found the home efficient and caring. I am always contacted if there is a problem. The meals are very good and nutritional with a good variety. The staff and management are always helpful, friendly and polite. If I have any concerns or suggestions I feel comfortable talking to the appropriate person. If anything I think more activities would be beneficial to the resident. But otherwise, I have no complaints.

The care and assistance to all our family from all the staff were excellent throughout my mothers stay at Wordsworth House. Mum was a very independent lady who would not let anyone help and the care and help from staff ensured she settled very quickly in the home from home environment.

Just a massive thank you to all the staff at Wordsworth House.
My mother was a resident at the home between October 2016 and March 2017, during this time the care and attention that was given to my mum by all the staff was superb.
Mum needed to go into a home after an accident in her home meaning she was unable to be on her own.
A very difficult discussion to have to make trying to find the right home for an elderly parent. BUT as soon as we visited Wordsworth House and were shown around and introduced to the staff we new mum would be happy and comfortable here.
As a son you need to be kept informed off how mum was adjusting to life in the home, the staff passed on all the information each time we visited the home (daily).

Many thanks from all our family.
