My Grandad is resident at Beechcroft. After a lengthy stay in hospital we had difficulty finding a placement. Beechcroft was always in my top choices and we were delighted when they offered him a place. The staff are wonderful. The leadership team are friendly, approachable and always keep me updated
with every change and amendment from the home manager, ward manager and the team leader.
The home will welcome the upcoming refurbishment but the atmosphere is always lively and bustling with music playing and staff and activities interacting with residents. This is what we wanted for him and he enjoys the stimulation.
He is thriving at 89 at Beechcroft and I feel happy that he is in the care of the staff team, being treated with dignity and respect and that the team will fight for his rights and needs as much as I will myself.

After taking my nan out of a "luxury" care home I was very apprehensive.
The staff are so genuinely caring and compassionate and this is something that cannot be taught. They are all so positive and kind. This level of care was amazing and I felt so reassured that my nan had arrived somewhere which
felt so homely.
stand out moment-when we first arrived the staff member greeted my nan and came down to her level, shook her hand and introduced himself. Sometimes people in wheelchairs can get overlooked and this was never the case.
All the staff and managers are wonderful. Particularly the ward manager who took such great care of my nan towards the end of her life.
Also another staff member in particular who was so positive and always called me with updates etc on days I couldn't go and see my nan. So genuine and kind.
The manager is such a wonderful person who always checked in on us all and cares so much about the staff and residents.
All the staff are absolute assets to this home.

I cannot fault the Care my wife receives. Her illness can maker her a very dfficult patient yet nothing is too much trouble for the staff. In addition my wife has experienced one or two problems which have required outside interventions, however she has been closely monitored at all time to ensure her
best interests.

The staff are caring and efficient. They are easily accessible if you need to talk to them. They are hard working .My friend is almost 95 Years old and can't get out of bed but she is able to understand everything that is said, even though her hearing is not good.

My mum was recently taken to hospital and whilst visiting her, the nurse who was looking after her wanted to give me some positive feedback about my mum's carehome.
She told me as my mum is bed bound and hoist lifted she would expect to see signs of bed sores or marks on her as this unfortunately happens,
but she could see no sign of this on mum, which is evidence she is well looked after.
She said the care home are doing a fantastic job caring for my mum and wanted me to pass this message on to the home.
I couldn't agree more, mum is very happy in Beechcroft and all the staff are amazing.

My uncle entered Beechcroft in September 2024 after a lengthy time in hospital. At 97 years of age he had become increasingly frail. The staff in the Home are friendly, caring and responsive especially to his changing needs. They also cared for us . Asking if we needed anything , welcomed us, smiled
and made for a perfect atmosphere. We watched the individual care he received, treated with dignity and a respectful sense of humour. All this was clearly led from the management , The manager and the clinical lead have to talk through care etc.
Uncle passed away today being cared for right to the end. The GP was called when needed and appropriate medication given as necessary. As a family we were kept informed ,which when you are not local to the Home was reassuring.
I cannot thank Beechwood Care Home enough.
Reply from Florin Hergheligiu, Home Manager at Beechcroft Care HomeThank you for your heartfelt message and for sharing your uncle's experience at Beechcroft. We appreciate you taking the time to share your gratitude, and we will ensure that your message is passed on to our staff. It means a great deal to them to know their work is valued.

My mother was moved to this care home after being put on to end-of-life care, Mum is a dementia sufferer.
The staff at the home are, in my opinion, friendly, helpful and always available if you have any problems.
Before moving into this care home, Mum was in hospital for five weeks and was bedbound
for the whole time due to her legs no longer working, so when she moved into this home I expected her to be bedbound for the rest of her days, I was happily shocked to find on one visit that Mum was in the lounge with all the other residents. On speaking to the manager, he explained that unless it is really not possible, every resident would be in the lounge area to socialise, this, for me, was good to hear as this was good for Mum's mental health.
Mum passed away this week in the home and the staff, especially two members of staff in particular, were especially helpful and on hand for support as soon as it happened, giving me as much time as I needed with Mum.
Wish I put Mum here first.
Thank you Beechcroft Care Home.
Reply from Florin Hergheligiu, Home Manager at Beechcroft Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback. We are so glad that she was able to spend her days socialising in the lounge with other residents and that our approach helped to improve her mental well-being. Knowing that we could make her final days more comfortable and meaningful is truly humbling for us. Your kind words about our staff, particularly regarding the care and support they provided during such a challenging time, mean so much. We will ensure that your appreciation is passed along to the team. Thank you again for your thoughtful message.

My nan moved here from another care home, it was the best decision we ever made, she has gained weight, the food is fresh and she is settled beautifully, the staff are amazing, the care they give her is lovely, they work hard and can't do enough for the residents and families. They do family get-together
events BBQ Halloween Christmas with entertainment and lovely food, the management is very approachable and doesn't just sit behind a desk, he helps with medication and care, we are so happy we moved Nan here.

Partner's mum went into this home 8 weeks ago. Since she has been there she has had three unwitnessed falls. She had a bust lip from another resident and has sustained a broken wrist. In the 8 weeks she has lost 1/3 of her body weight. Manager says he has an open door policy but if you talk to him nothing
gets done. We were supposed to have a meeting with a senior nurse, social services and ourselves. The nurse cancelled this meeting the night before and emailed the social worker to serve 28 days' notice. Partner's mum is now in hospital and social worker told us the home won't take her back. I would not put an animal in their care home. Some staff are OK but they hide far too much. This home needs investigation as it has failed a vulnerable 76-year-old. We looked after her for 4 years and if this had happened we would have been done for neglect. How can a nursing home get away with this? And to anybody involved with this home don't leave a comment unless you leave a way for us to reply, disappointing.
Reply from Kevin Robinson-Husband, Director of Operations at Beechcroft Care HomeI'm sorry to hear of your concerns and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused yourselves. We take all feedback seriously, I am able to see the home have completed investigations into matters which have arisen and have been working with family members and the local authority team to support your loved ones current needs.

Mum has been in this home for 8 weeks. She has had two unwitnessed falls and a broken hand/wrist. They have not been able to get mum to eat or shower, we have been doing this. Mum's fire door was broken and couldn't be closed for 6 weeks. Mum has lost weight, spent a lot of time in bed and is now depressed.
They tried to send her to the hospital for a suspected infection, again they couldn't do her obs. But ambulance staff could, they told ambulance people to use force but this was denied and then the home wanted to involve the police and again the home was told no. Now they have given 28 days' notice to have mum removed. Don't use this home. They can't cope and they don't like it when you stick up for your relative/family. They don't answer phone calls and you are kept outside waiting. I couldn't give mum a shower once because it was dirty and the smell was disgusting. A carer told us to use it, it was okay and clean. Three maintenance people left, new staff arriving all the time.
Reply from Sophie Gardiner, Group Quality and Compliance Director at Beechcroft Care HomeWe are very disappointed to hear of your concerns, on review of these I can see you were invited to a meeting yesterday with the management team and local authority to discuss further and review the investigation completed. Unfortunately, you were unable to attend. If you can reschedule as requested all findings and evidence to these concerns can be shared. Thank you

I visit the home on a weekly basis to visit my husband. He is not the easiest person to visit and displays challenging behaviours to myself. He joins in no activities and spends all his time in bed in his room.
Staff are always very supportive to myself and provide updates on a regular basis. They
are caring and kind to myself and my husband.
The home is always clean and tidy. There are always activities going on and always my husband does not engage, that is personal choice.
Reply from Florin Hergheligiu, Home Manager at Beechcroft Care HomeThank you so much for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience with us. The home seems to be improving, staff are very friendly and hardworking. Some rooms need updating and redecorating which is happening. Could do with residents being offered a light snack (at supper time) to put them through to the next morning (breakfast).

My dad came to Beechcroft Care Home in June 2024. At first, he was trying to leave the home due to struggling to settle. After a few weeks, dad settled with the help of the staff and his daughters. Dad gets nice meals and his room is cleaned and tidy. The staff are nice and seem to look after dad. Dad
seems happy to Beechcroft now.

All staff were friendly and welcoming as always, mum seemed happy enough in herself and was showing off her new hair cut. Had a bit of trouble trying to leave money for mum's account as it was a bank holiday and the receipt book hadn't been left out like I was told it would be. Other than that everything
is great with mum and the staff that look after her, nothing is too much trouble.

Grandad has settled well in the home. Staff are friendly and attentive and always welcoming with the family. Good level of care, and staff react quickly if we request any support for Grandad. Grandad requires a specialised wheelchair, which we are still waiting for, but otherwise facilities are ok.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4, which has been reached with 45 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Florin Hergheligiu

Job Title: Home Manager

My name is Florin Hergheligiu, and I am proud to serve as the Registered Manager at Beechcroft Care Home in Runcorn. My journey in healthcare began in 2016 as a nurse in Cumbria, where I spent five years honing my skills and gaining invaluable experience, including 2.5 years as a Clinical Lead. During this time, I also worked as a Bank Nurse (Band 5) at West Cumberland Hospital, which deepened my understanding of hospital and residential care. In 2021, I relocated to Liverpool and became the Deputy Manager at Bloomcare - Brushwood Care Home in Speke. My passion for providing high-quality care and leadership has since led me to my current role at Beechcroft, where I continue to focus on delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
