My mother was placed in this place after breaking her hip in September. She was in there for 8 weeks and not once did she set foot out of her room. Her meals were not fit for purpose as she has no top teeth so she could not eat the hard solid food they gave her. They are understaffed most of the rooms
on one side of the building are full of boxes and other junk, and so is the communal room. I would not advise anyone to put their relative in this place. I've got her out of there and brought her home. All they want from you is your money. This is only my humble opinion.

I have struggled lately with family dynamics. I'm happy that someone suggested this care home. The staff are so family focused. I feel like I've always been a part of the resident's care. The residents are so nice. I love them and the staff. Thanks ladies.

My first impression of Beech Croft nursing home was somewhat apprehensive. But from the moment we met the staff, it became very clear that they were exceptionally caring to all their residents. The accommodation itself is immaculate, scrupulously clean and well presented. The individual care for the
patients is hand-picked by well trained and thoughtful staff. From the staffing levels, which personally look after them, much care and observation are worked on. Since my brother-in-law has gone into Beachcroft, he has greatly improved in his social interaction and his well being. I can only highly recommend this care home. They see to all his needs, plus they also consider his immediate family ie, his wife of 60-years, and keep her well informed of his progress. All I can say is a very big thank you.

Since I have been placed at Beechcroft, the staff have been outstanding and very friendly. I feel very at home here. They are always there for you no matter what, what help you need. They are a credit to NHS, and with their effort and deadecation as a team and hard work, I would recommend Beechcroft
to everyone. They're like one big happy family, very caring and would like to see a change in higher wages for their deadecation in their job.

The care given by the team at Beechcroft is amazing. Every staff member was genuinely caring and respectful to my aunt. My aunt was only at Beechcroft for three months before her death, but during this time, she was given exemplary care. Each time I visited, she was comfortable and obviously well cared
for. Our family are very grateful to all the amazing team at Beechcroft, particularly in her final weeks when they also helped me with their consideration and kindness at an upsetting time.

My mum and I visited my father on an unplanned visit. The staff were wonderful and the gardens lovely. We had to speak from the outside patio door for obvious reasons. There’s also a little stray ginger cat that’s being cared for, and we know cats go to the best places.

I really did not want to put mum into a care home, she needed 24/7 palliative/Nursing/Dementia care. I visited many establishments unannounced but didn't like any until I went to Beechcroft. I instantly liked the people and the place. Mum moved in shortly after her assessment and I can honestly say
the staff were absolutely wonderful with mum and us as a family. I really liked the fact that a Dr did bi-weekly visits, mums room was close to the nursing station and visiting was anytime. All the staff were fantastic with mum, the manager, nurses, carers, cook, kitchen staff, laundry and cleaners. Mum spent 7 weeks and 2 days in Beechcroft and for her last 5 days, I stayed there too as I didn't want to leave her side in her final days. The support and care mum and I received was excellent. Mum kept her dignity, was pain-free and comfortable. Thank you, everyone, at Beechcroft, you will forever hold a place in our hearts for your unconditional love and excellent care you all gave to Mum.

We already had a very good feeling about Beechcroft after an unannounced first visit last year and a very welcoming talk through and show round of the home by your staff, followed very quickly by your wonderful manager visiting Nan at her own home to answer all our questions and put Nan's mind at ease
with the transition that was to come. The home manager and all the staff made move-in day seamless and were such a huge support. Nan loved the time they gave every day, showing such love, empathy, gentleness and exceptional care. The meals were always fantastic and she absolutely loved the activities that were regularly organised. In her final weeks and days, everyone rallied around Nan and the entire family. Really went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble, the manager, the staff, the kitchen, the cleaners, everyone! We will be forever grateful for everything and can't thank them all enough.
Would recommend Beechcroft to anyone.

Very accommodating and caring establishment with some excellent and interpersonal staff who cared well for my dad in the 3 and a half years he was there. Days out provided great benefit and activities and entertainment well received. Accommodation is dated with some rooms in need of refurbishment. As
a family, we are thankful for the compassion and support shown in his final few days.

My grandad was at Beechcroft Care home for approximately two months. He settled in very well and it was a comfort to his family that he was happy there and so well looked after. All the staff were kind and caring towards him and did their best in every way they could for him. I would definitely recommend
this home to anyone.

My uncle lived at Beechcroft for four years. He originally chose to stay there, rather than returning to his bungalow, after arriving from a hospital stay. He loved having his meals cooked for him, his laundry done, the company of staff and other residents and not having to worry about the knock on
the door or a fall on the way to the shops. He enjoyed trips out (especially to Anfield) and being able to watch Strictly.
His personal care was well supported by staff and when I went to take him out he would be dressed ready to go. When he was ill a doctor was promptly called and chronic issues were well cared for with regular nurse visits. I live a long distance away, but were kept informed of any issues that arose. I was welcomed every time I visited. My uncle had his own spacious room which was always clean and tidy. He had a lovely view into the garden where he enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds. The staff were always caring and kind.

We had to make the difficult decision to put our mum in a home back in February 2019. It felt like we were letting her down - we couldn’t have been more wrong. Before moving in, our mum used to sit watching TV and wait for neighbours to pass to wave to her. In Beechcroft, she had the most amazing time,
a new lease of life, shopping trips, Bingo, sing-alongs, arts and crafts, meeting the Mayor, all things she would never have done before. She settled in straight away thanks to all the dedicated staff.
Our mum said she loved it and should have moved in years ago. If you are struggling to come to terms with making this decision, we can honestly say go and visit and talk to the staff and see for yourself because we now have no regrets. We made our mum's room look like a mini version of her living room and she was safe. Sadly, mum passed away recently but from the bottom of our broken hearts, she had the best last 5 months of her life. The support, dignity and respect shown throughout will stay with us forever.

We would like to thank all at Beechcroft for their superb care, support, respect and understanding shown for our mum. The team were outstanding not just to Mum, but all our family at a very difficult time.
Mum had a wonderful time for the final months of life. All at Beechcroft became our extended
family.
The Home Manager is one outstanding person and nothing was too much trouble. The support was unbelievable.
We, as a family, would highly recommend this nursing/care home.
The first impression to the last will be in our hearts forever, they really gave Mum a better quality of life as her parting came near.
We could not have wished for more at this very difficult time.
Everyone was magnificent and went above and beyond their duty.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Mum has only been at Beechcroft Care Home for two weeks and it was difficult at first (for us) but the Manager and the staff made us feel more comfortable. The staff made sure Mum settled in and had everything she needed. They catered for her 'fussy' food issues and cooked her what she liked. The staff
made Mum feel special on her birthday.

I would just like to thank everyone at Beechcroft Care Home. The time that my Mother-In-Law spent with them may not have been long but the care, support, understanding and total respect all the team showed not just to my mother in law but to all family members when they visited was outstanding. The
relaxed positive feeling that you get makes you comfortable straight away and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The manager is an outstanding lady in her own right. The support that she gave from the first day I went to look at the home to actually moving my mother in law there was lovely. The care, understanding, compassion and commitment that the manager has, not just for every resident staying with them but also the families is beautiful to see. Even though she has not been with Beechcroft very long I know that they will continue to go from strength to strength with her at the helm and the team that she has around her.

Visited for the first time today, very disappointed as on walking down the corridors there is a smell of urine throughout. Mum asked for a cup of tea and waited 25 minutes for it, I had to ask a second time. Mum's room is adequate with a nice view, seemed short staffed for the number of residents there.
I will see if things improve and keep an open mind, but as I say disappointed. I hope we can move Mum to somewhere more appropriate for her. Only 7 rooms with en-suite.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.401)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.401) out of 10 for Beechcroft Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.401 for Beechcroft Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (384 Excellents x 5) + (141 Goods x 4) + (33 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (36 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 596 Ratings = 4.401
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechcroft Care Home is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
