My father has been resident here for a few months and my sisters and I can’t speak highly enough of the caring ethos that resonates from the care home manager down through the staff. My sister has come into Riverside and I couldn't be happier. She has been here, she has made friends and her outlook seems brighter. After meeting with the management team I was introduced to the staff. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. It's not an easy decision to make putting a relative
into a care home however I feel very at ease at Riverside. I am always made to feel welcome when visiting my sister.

My mum has dementia and has been treated with care, dignity and compassion like the caregivers would treat their own mum. If at any time I have had any concerns I have openly talked to the staff about it, or talked about anything, her door has always been open.
My mum came from another home that I
felt were not looking after her properly. I have felt safe knowing my mum is in Riverside. Even at end-of-life they kept asking after me and if I was okay.

I would highly recommend Riverside Residential Care Home who does a fantastic job of looking after my mum who has a diagnosis of dementia. The staff are very caring and patient with her. They know her very well and she is not just a number. They manage her needs very well and she is always well looked
after. They ensure that her dignity is respected and she is always clean, dressed appropriately and her hair and nails are done. The staff do activities with her regularly to help stimulate her. Her room is lovely, decorated modern, light and airy and the staff ensure the temperature is just right for her according to the weather. She always has a fresh drink available which is topped up regularly and her meals meet all her nutritional needs. The home, itself, is very welcoming and the staff keep me informed and updated about her care. I couldn’t ask for better care.

I highly rate this care home, the staff are always helpful and friendly and they respect and care for their residents very well. The facility is always clean, bright and welcoming and there are always different activities and events going on. I feel at ease and confident that this is a trustworthy establishment.

I was very dubious about my friends staying in any home at all, but after visiting for a number of weeks and I mean most days of that time, I needn't have worried so much. My friend settled in straight away, so visiting was a pleasure because there were no complaints. Because I came to see my friend
about every day I've seen it with my own eyes that the residents are fed, watered and looked after how they should be. So that is such a good thing, you don't have to go home worried at all.

Visitors always receive a warm welcome when entering the home. I feel the staff are genuine and nothing is false or being hidden. Staff are opened and honest and other visitors feel the same, nothing is put on because visitors are there. Staff genuinely care for their residents, are respectful of their
needs and privacy and will go above and beyond if needs be. Staff are always visible and available for residents and will address any welfare issues as they arrive. If the alarm is triggered, staff respond instantly. Clearly, good policies and procedures are in place. The team are amazing with excellent leadership, and long may this continue.

These ladies were absolutely brilliant with my dad. He wasn’t there very long, but even in the short time he was, these ladies went above and beyond. I honestly can not thank them enough. My dad received the best possible care in the best possible place, from the most dedicated carers possible. The
two management ladies are so attentive and nothing was too much for them. They kept me calm, reassured me and gave me a cuddle when I needed it most. I truly do thank you.

Staff very approachable. Staff all very knowledgeable. Food very varied and appetising. All areas very clean. Activities very good and interesting. Rooms clean and safe with enough storage. All residents are acknowledged straight away.

My nannan was in Riverside for respite. She enjoyed all the activities and the friendly staff, who always had a smile on their faces. Management were warm and welcoming. The care my nannan received was second to none.

They have been looking after my grandad for just over 2 weeks, and they have helped him with everything from daily hygiene to eating and drinking and also with his mobility. The staff are wonderful and nothing is never an issue. They will try and solve the problem as quickly as they can. I thank them

I honestly can not thank this home enough. The care they provide to my nana is exceptional. The 2 managers are so helpful - nothing is ever too much for them. My father came into this home in December with Alzheimer's. The staff are so caring and go the extra mile to help residents and their families making sure both are ok. It's been really tough as a daughter to see my father ill, but going to see him, staff make it easier.

It’s one of the hardest decisions ever made, when that time comes for a loved one to go into a home.
My nana is 95 years young, and after living with my family for nearly 3 years, she needed more care than we could give her.
So now how do you choose?.
After looking around the others, and reading
reviews, I kept coming back to Riverside.
Hand on heart we have not regretted my nana moving in.
The staff are absolutely lovely, the events they put on are thoughtful and the residents love it.
It’s the closest thing to home is Riverside.
I know my nana is cared for, she is more stimulated than she was at home.
Thank you, Riverside for giving me reassurance that my beautiful nana is in the best care.

My mother had been diagnosed with cancer and was on end-of-life care. We were very anxious as she didn't want to go into care she wanted to go home. However, within a couple of days of being at Riverside, she was settled and happily mixing with the other residents. As all our family were visiting and
we were more than the room could hold I asked if a larger room was available.
The staff were very helpful as one became available and she was moved which made her very happy. My mother commented and said it's just like being at home now. Every day my two brothers and I visited in the afternoon. Grandchildren of many visited in the evenings. My mother would be full of chat about the lovely carers and how helpful they had been.


All our family were so pleased we had made the best choice as mum was so happy as we were the carers the food the environment were brilliant and it was a lovely place for our mum to spend her last days. Where she felt the staff were doing their very best.

The treatment Mum received on her discharge from hospital to Riverside Care Home was particularly good. New equipment was installed ready for her return. Her room was clean, tidy and welcoming. The staff liaised well with the GP regarding pain control and kept me fully informed.

My husband went as a resident at Riverside Residential Care Home in January. Thankfully, it only took a few weeks for him to settle. The staff have been brilliant not only to him but to all residents, no matter if they are distressed or just awkward. I feel happy knowing when I visit, which is any time,
any day, that I will find the home loving and welcoming. I would recommend this home.

My name is Sue Pickersgill and I am the Home Manager here at Riverside Care Home. I have worked in the care sector for the past 25 years, and I have been the Home Manager at Riverside since September 2018.


Sue works closely with her team and likes to know that everyone who lives at Riverside has a happy, enjoyable and sociable life.
