The care at Thornhill House is second to none! Staff are so kind and really do put their all into their work. Activities are excellent and varied (many more than other care homes provide). Meals are very good of various ingredients, good choice, many desserts are home-baked. In all, I do not know how we would have coped without the staff at Thornhill House.

Thornhill House is an extended family to residents and relatives of residents. Caring, friendly and fun environment for residents. Highly recommend to anyone who is unable to care for their loved ones at home and want peace of mind they are looked after by carers who are their friends.

There is so much activity going on for residents to get involved in. The carers have got so much patience and nothing is ever too much for them. Whenever there's something that needs changing, management deal with it immediately. It’s just a nice place to be around.

We moved my mum here from another care home that was actually like a five-star hotel - but there was no heart and soul there. Thornhill House has lots of heart and soul. The staff are all down-to-earth and genuine. My mum gets taken out regularly and this is what she loves. Thank you, Thornhill!

The place is absolutely brilliant, they tend to my auntie's every need. A home where the staff aren't there as a chore to them but they treat the residents like their family. They do great things with them - it's amazing.

Could not recommend Thornhill highly enough, even if I tried! My Grandma was there for a short time before we lost her and all the staff were amazing with her and ensuring, even in lockdown, my mum and uncle could see her in her last days. Very friendly, honest and open - great atmosphere. Can't thank the team enough.

Can't thank this home enough. My mum went in on regular daycare. She had also had some respite there. My mum was severe with her vascular dementia, she was very hard work but Thornhill took time with her and helped by caring for her and also they cared for me. Listening to me each week upset, happy and crying. They showered her to help and got her in respite, when the room was available. I couldn't say thanks to just one because as a team, they worked great.

The staff and management are simply the best - the care my mother-in-law gets is excellent and she is treated with dignity and respect. It's like home from home - my mother-in-law loves it and so do we, as her family.

My gran went into respite in February until she, unfortunately, passed away on 24 April 2022 and was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. She immediately warmed to the care home manager, who made her feel at home and welcomed. The manager has been a great support to my family since her passing and I can't thank him enough for what he did for my gran during those final weeks.

The staff are very caring and understanding of each and everyone's individual needs. Going that extra mile to make sure all patients and visitors are cared for to a high standard. The management team are very professional in their approach to the successful running of the home - well done.

My mum-in-law was admitted two years ago after the death of my father-in-law. He was her carer as she has dementia. The manager and the staff welcomed her and gave her the love and attention that, unfortunately, our family wasn’t able to give. They are all excellent and I would highly recommend them.

During this pandemic, we have always been kept up to date on the welfare of our loved ones. A pod was built to allow visits. This was always carried out under Government guidelines in a safe and clean environment.

My wife has had peace of mind through this difficult time by the care home keeping her constantly updated. FaceTime had been set up to allow regular visits, albeit thru remote systems. A difficult time but made easier by systems Thornhill put in place.

This care home is exceptional; the management and staff give 200 per cent. The residents always come first and foremost. The residents are well entertained daily. They have a choice in everyday activities. They and families are included in all aspects of everyday life. I would recomend this home to anyone; it is a home from home first-rate.

The care and support my mum has received from the staff at the home has been amazing. Their compassion, dedication, enthusiasm and bravery throughout this pandemic has been exemplary and one that they all should be very proud of.
I would definitely recommend this home to my friends.
Mum is happy, content, safe and has a new lease of life since moving into the home. She is stimulated, engaged and has made lots of wonderful friends

I cannot recommend this home enough, and I have the utmost praise for each and every one of the brilliant staff who looks after Mums well-being.

Our dad is currently a resident at Thornhill House at the moment. From the day of his arrival, the manager and his team of staff have been very welcoming; they have been very hands-on, brilliant with communication, and their level of care they have given has been outstanding. Nothing has been a problem for them. Our dads need of the level of care can be variable, and they adapt themselves to his needs. I am also very grateful, as since our dad has been at Thornhill House, they have discovered a problem our dad has, which had been overlooked by other medical professionals, so now our dad is receiving the medication he should have had before arriving at Thornhill House. I know our dad is happy there and certainly loves the food. I speak with our dad most days, its never a problem for a member of staff to take the phone to him. I am so pleased that our dad is in a nice care home with lovely surroundings, but most of all, lovely people. With all my heart, thank you to everyone at Thornhill House.

Happy to leave this review for anybody looking into next level of care for family members.
I can’t speak highly enough of the manager and the rest of the team working at Thornhill House; they have made my dad really welcomed, and after trying a few different homes he has been settling into surroundings at Thornhill House, dare I say it, better than expected.
I can tell from conversations with my farther that there has been a marked improvement in both his mental health and overall well being since arriving, the team have always been polite and have gone out there way to really help manage my dad's long term ailments, which are of great relieve to myself and family members.
Keep up the good work!

Regards.

Can only say that I had my wife placed in a care home before I did. She has come on well, and the staff are friendly. She looks better then she has for a long time which is down to the staff and the top standards that are in place.

Due to dementia, the time came when Mum needed full-time care and after a couple of short stays in other care homes. I felt I had found the right place for Mum at Thornhill. As she went into Thornhill in the middle of the pandemic, I have never been inside to visit, but I feel she is well cared for by the amazing staff. She seems happy and always looks clean and presentable. Thornhill has done a great job in getting her to eat again and keeping her stimulated. I truly believe Mum would not be with us today if she had not gone into Thornhill. I am kept well informed through phone calls and get to see many of the activities Mum joins in with through photos and videos. I feel this home is very well managed, and the staff are genuinely lovely and caring.
