Glen Rosa

My step-mother has lived at Kitwood, Glen Rosa for 6 months. The kind staff helped her to make the necessary adjustment when she moved from her previous residential home where she had lived for 8 years. Although suffering from dementia, her own career as a nurse helped her to appreciate and respect the excellent care she as offered and she soon settled into this clean, warm, friendly and specialist caring environment.

A great care home in a lovely setting close to Ilkley. Caring staff and good food, Mum settled well there and we know she is being looked after.

We are so pleased with Glen Rosa for my mother-in-law. She has repeatedly told us the staff are so kind and the food is good! Her room is very clean, and when she arrived, the carpet and walls were her favourite colour. She has had some quite server health issues, and these have been dealt with promptly and thoroughly. The activities co-ordinator is good, and the carers attention to detail is very good. The care staff are physically demonstrative of their care too.

I can't speak more highly of MHA Glen Rosa. Staff are the most important factor in a care home and the staff at Glen Rosa are a fabulous team. They know and show genuine affection for and interest in the residents. We live far from Ilkley so I appreciate the contact they maintain with us. They always make me feel welcome into the home and put on activities and outing that reflect their knowledge of the residents. The kitchen and maintenance staff are friendly and go out of their to help. Just a lovely place to see my uncle in.

Glen Rosa staff were and are always welcoming to me as a friendly visitor and allowed me to take meals with my friend and the other residents. I attend some of the social activities of Glen Rosa - concerts and church services (Methodist) regularly.

Visited a short term very sick resident three days in a row. He was very well cared for and nursed beyond our expectations. All the staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome. Lounges and tea/coffee making facilities on every floor so could meet with the resident as an independent private group. Very clean, very friendly and very well maintained.

A lovely place, full of peace and kindness.

My mother has been with you for almost a year and her care has been superb! The staff have always got a smile on their faces and cannot do enough to help her. They are always friendly and helpful to visitors as well. A welcoming friendly place to live!

A warm friendly welcome when we brought our friend from a less good establishment to Glen Rosa. The month he has been at Glen Rosa has transformed him from a depressed, failing individual to someone, though still frail, now is more at peace with himself, with excellent care and attention including people to talk to and activities to take part in. A real change in his wellbeing.

My mother has been very well looked after at Glen Rosa. The staff are very attentive and caring and the home has a friendly atmosphere. The facilities are very good and there are plenty of activities available for those who want to get involved. I think Glen Rosa was a good choice for my mother.

My mother moved into Glen Rosa in February 2017 following a bout of pneumonia which left her feeling weak and unwell. Since arriving at Glen Rosa her general health has improved tremendously. She is happy and settled in her new home and finds the care offered by the staff to be excellent. All members of staff are kind, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the home is relaxed and peaceful. Our family are very pleased that she is so well and happy at Glen Rosa.

As a visitor, I have always been most impressed by the warm welcome by the staff. Clean and spacious. I have already recommended it as a good place for care.

My father's wellbeing has improved since coming to live at Glen Rosa. He enjoys the activities provided and responds well to the kindness of the staff and appreciates his beautiful surroundings. Staff are friendly towards me and have quickly called out a doctor to examine my father when needed. I appreciate the warmth and caring of all the staff I have met and feel relief that my father receives such a high quality of support.

My mother moved to Kitwood House, Glen Rosa from another care home and was given a warm and friendly welcome by the staff. This helped her to settle in quickly.

I have been impressed by the care my mother has received at Glen Rosa (personal care and medical attention) and feel that the choice of this home was a good one.

My overall view, with my wife as a resident of Glen Rosa care home. We both agree that she is happy and contented in her own room, with well-equipped furniture. She has only herself to blame for not joining her fellow residents and the available activities in the lounge and dining room areas, but as they say, we have to accept that is her own choice. The staff are friendly and devoted to their work, which is very warming. Thank the good Lord for their calling towards caring for the elderly and infirm. Thank you MHA from Roman Catholic relative.

Mum has been at Glen Rosa for four and a half years. In that time she has been in both Glen Rosa and Kitwood. She is now 99 years old and very frail, both physically and mentally. However, all aspects of her care are still excellent. She is cared for physically but also, all the staff show such care and respect for her.

Lovely staff, so kind, friendly and fun.

Bothof these are more readily available in the non-dementia unit and supervised outdoor time is facilitated when possible.

The staff at Glen Rosa are incredible, they are supportive, kind and always so positive, no matter what day or time we visit. They have done so much for my mother-in-law and our family as a whole. A truly inspirational team of people, thank you so much for all that you do.

If I need help and only have to ask. The staff and carers are very willing to help me, sometimes it needs a lot of patience both ways.
