The care home has been very professional in assessing my dad and providing respite care. We have felt confident that he is being cared for and that the environment is as safe as possible during COVID times. The staff are friendly, informative and helpful. Particular shout-outs go to two members of staff in particular, one who welcomes us and is always very supportive and gives us helpful updates and the other who took time to really understand Dad’s needs and capacity, adapting usual care practice in light of his inability to make decisions in his own best interest. Whilst ideally we would have liked a home nearer to Mum and Dad’s home, Priory View has been great in providing respite and is easy to access from surrounding areas.

My mother has been with you now for four or five years now. I have never had any complaints, she has been well cared for and happy in the environment you provide. During the past year, she has become less active and her mind and memory have unfortunately deteriorated. Yet on visiting whether she be awake or asleep or recognises me she always appears well cared for. The staff are always happy to greet me and friendly and happy to take the time to answer any questions that I may have. Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the care home for their devotion and care that you are all displaying at this moment in time. I am unable to visit my mum but at least I know you are all doing your best. Thank you all.

I would like to say that my mum has been at Priory Care for 15 months now. During that time the care she has received has been excellent. She is happy and very well cared for and has really settled in well with the help of the carers and staff there. It is obviously a very challenging time at the moment and as somebody used to visiting every day, I have found it very hard, however, it has been made a lot easier by seeing my mum on video call chats looking so happy and giggling. Also talking to her on the phone I can tell she is upbeat. The activities co-ordinators there do an amazing job, and I can't thank them enough for giving mum quality of life and interaction with others which she needs and enjoys, and also sharing some of these moments on social media which is lovely when we're not able to visit. The care managers are always friendly and have time for a chat despite the fact they're probably so busy, as do all the members of staff, both face to face, and now during lockdown.

Everyone has been very caring and considerate both to my mother and myself. The staff go that extra mile on a daily basis, and their compassion, commitment and professionalism shine out. My mum has settled in very well, and I feel that the staff know her and appreciate and meet her needs fully. They have always kept us well informed, and we have the utmost confidence in them.

Sadly, my father in law was admitted for palliative end of life care. The facilities are excellent, providing everything needed, including a family room for relaxing and refreshments. What makes this place exceptional is the fantastic care team. They looked after us with such sensitivity and compassion, providing us with everything we needed to help us through this traumatic experience. I can't think of anything that would have made it any better. It made such an impression on me that I found myself singing your praises at the hairdressers, and will always recommend you whenever possible. Thank you.

My sister and I had to try and pick a suitable care home for my father who was coming out of hospital needing palliative care. The welcome we received, along with a viewing of the facilities immediately made this home stand out above the others we had viewed. After moving my father in, we had time to look more closely and were relieved to find that the whole place was absolutely spotless, with good security, and above all, the most wonderful staff. My father soon moved towards the end of his life, after which, five family members stayed with my father over three days. There was a lovely lounge for us to use with drinks and snacks always available, plus the food that was provided for us whenever we needed it, we wanted for nothing. Thinking about the staff fills me with gratitude because they were the most wonderful, sensitive, caring group of people I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. They made our emotional journey completely stress free. Thank you so much, everyone.

My auntie went into Priory Care initially as a respite resident. Having Dementia she was unable to take care of herself properly at home and with family doing as much as possible we were unable to give her the round the clock care and company she needed due to our own circumstances.

As soon as we walked into Priory Care it felt right. She is so happy there and we are content that she is being looked after and enjoying herself daily. The staff are brilliant and she regularly tells us about her daily activities. They keep it fun and full of life. They provide stability and a proper home. When we can't always get there to visit, we know she is safe and in great hands. The staff are friendly, approachable and nothing is too much trouble.

It was an exceptionally difficult decision for us to make, on Mum's behalf, however, all the staff have treated Mum with dignity and respect and I have been reassured by the continued level of support. If Mum wants to join in any of the many activities, then that's great, however, if she needs some quiet time in her room the carers check on her frequently.
Mum doesn't always want to eat and this is flagged up to us if it becomes a concern, which again assures us that her needs are being met. The staff on a whole are wonderful, truly caring about their residents. Lots of stimuli provided by the team ensures that health and social aspects of the resident's lives can be and are improved. In many ways, it has been a step forward.
One concern, however, is the availability of fans to cool the resident's rooms or lounge area as these operate on a shared basis.

Thank you, everyone, for all your care, attention, laughs and such a friendly environment. We positively made the right choice for Mum.

Our mum has now been in this care home for 10 months, initially as respite following serious health problems and a time in hospital. Ideally, she would like to be living back in her own house but that is not realistic. The home is kept extremely clean and tidy and the staff are professional and caring. I especially liked the duck eggs that were at the home around Easter time. Mum had loved watching them hatch and then seeing them grow for the short time they remained at the home.

Priory is a very friendly, welcoming place for residents and visitors. My relative can, at times, display very challenging behaviour due to illness yet the staff are always caring. They respond to him calmly, listen to him and I feel that he is safe there and well looked after, whatever is happening. The staff contact us promptly if there are any issues.

The home is always clean and is modern and bright with age-appropriate pictures. My uncle enjoys the food and it's good that the residents are given choices.

At times, meal times have been mixed up with food orders/requests.
On two occasions have forgotten to bring food to the resident's room.
Rooms are modern but very small and dark.
Food in the evening made by care staff should be a much higher standard.

Staff asked to do too much, including evening meals.

The home is advertised as having daily activities for residents and it is also mentioned on a board with pictures in the lounge. On various visits during the week and weekends by family and friends since August we've only seen 2 occasions where any activity is being done. Staff don't seem to interact with residents very often they are usually on the computer with their back to the residents or chatting.

Some of the things on the television I don't feel are appropriate for people suffering from dementia ie Jeremy Kyle (lots of shouting). I feel that music from various eras would be more suitable. Some staff go out of their way to inform you what's happening with your relative whereas with some it feels like hard work and that you are putting them out.

All in all we are happy with the care she receives. Mum seems happy and settled. I feel there are some areas for improvement however.

We feel my mum is happy in the home, however, some staff appear to be more interested in my mum than others. On several occasions when visiting, friends and family have noticed that there don't appear to be activities going on even though they are up on the board. I believe that some of your staff are going above and beyond but some just do what is required.

The staff are all very caring and we feel as though we are listened to when we had concerns and that Mum is in safe hands. No complaints but a couple of suggestions. Residents in shared rooms need to have a curtain or screen between beds, that can be pulled across for their dignity when having personal care e.g. Washing, changing etc. Also, bed bound are not included in activities for more mobile residents, so for them could you provide something e.g. Hand and foot massage or someone to just come into their rooms and spend quality time talking to them etc.
