Willersley House and its staff have continued to show an excellent standard of care and understanding of my father, who has resided there now for over two and a half years. They have been super in supporting his changing needs and developing ways to encourage him to participate and maintain some independence
as his abilities and memory have declined, positively encouraging him and supporting him through some difficult times recently. They have also been attentive and helpful in supporting myself and family as his needs changes and through periods of ill health and hospital stays. The staff are always supportive and ready to help both my father and myself, showing an awareness of the challenges being faced. I feel confident in them and secure in the knowledge that when my father is in their care he is safe and looked after, should anything change in his care or needs they are quick to let me know and talk things through.

Mum was treated with the utmost care and kindness as she came to the end of her life. Family visitors, young and old, were always welcome. We will remember the management and staff with great fondness as we reminisce and celebrate Mum's life.

For the 20 years that I have been at Willersley House, your Mum has been such a huge support to the home, firstly as a volunteer and latterly as a resident of the home. We all miss her and am so thankful that she was able to spend her final days with us here at Willersley. We too will look back and remember your mum with great fondness.

The Summer Party was held at Willersley House yesterday and I wanted to express my appreciation for all the staff who make the Home such a special place. The party was to celebrate the official opening of the new dining/patio area and to give thanks to everyone who has contributed their time, money
and effort into making this area an integral and pleasing part of the Home. A sumptuous cream-tea was served and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying it, young and old, for the dining room was packed with residents and relatives. We were entertained by a professional singer and pianist duo as well as two young dancers. There was also the results of a photography competition, a raffle and delicious cakes to take home. All the staff worked so hard to make the afternoon enjoyable for everyone, and there was a real family feel. What stood out for me was that in the midst of all the celebration, staff were providing outstanding care and support, for residents and relatives alike.

My mother-in-law is lucky to live in such a friendly, well-run home.
As a relative, I am always impressed by the care and consideration given by the staff.
They are also very friendly towards visitors and always available to answer questions and provide support.
There is a good variety of activities
provided for the residents which appear to be enjoyed by those attending.

After much experience with care facilities either due to relatives needing care and previously working in them, I can honestly say this is the nicest residential home I've come across. I am so very impressed with the whole care package that my Mam is receiving. I live in Staffordshire, this is my first visit to Mam's new home.

After visiting I now have peace of mind that Mam and all the other residents are very well cared for.

It was lovely meeting you when you visited Willersley House. Throughout the last few months we know your Mum has been through such a difficult time before moving to Willersley. Your Mum is such a lovely lady with a wonderful personality and since moving into Willersley has made some good friends here. Despite all the recent trauma she remains as positive as can be and hopefully 2019, with all our support, will be more uplifting for her.

Entry to Willersley House is always met by a friendly, helpful person. I am always asked to take refreshments with my friend and to join in with any activity that is being held. The home is scrupulously clean, especially the weeks my friend is taken out on visits to places of interest, shopping and
social events. Birthday are always celebrated and of course, a decorated cake. Various volunteers are to hand to listen and to talk to residents and to entertain with quizzes and music. One volunteer runs a weekly shop, which my friend much appreciates, enabling her to have some independence and still keep in touch with currency. All in all, Willersley House deserves their "outstanding" award.

To the end, my father was cared for as I would hope to be cared for if I end my time being a resident of a home. I use the term home as that's what it was, not only to my dad but to me, as the staff without exception, were more like family than carers. I feel there should be a level above outstanding
as the support from the home has been exceptional, the whole experience from start to finish has been eased, from assessing my dad, giving him a happy life, to representatives attending his funeral.
I would like to thank all the staff for his care, but also for their support of the family during this very difficult time, I was especially moved by the very visible show of emotion from the staff during, and after, my Dad's last few days.
Whilst the primary focus was on my dad, I always felt that the family were also important, especially at the end when their support was very much appreciated. I not only miss my dad but the friendly people I met at Willersley.

My mother settled very quickly at Willersley House, we were able to put a lot of her pictures and photos on the wall (unlike a previous home). She is encouraged to join in all the various activities and enjoys outings to the local cinema, gardens. The food is excellent and mum has put on weight over
the first few months at being at Willersley and she is very happy.

I already know gran is very happy here but was able to see first hand. I live in Australia and the carers are so helpful with my situation in facilitating skypes for me to see gran. This was my first visit in person and it was such a lovely welcoming happy place to be. Light and bright and clean. I
am very happy this is my gran's home.

Every single member of staff has been outstanding. The kindness they have shown has been exemplary. Our father has had a wonderful experience (though short) and has been able to live out his last days being shown kindness and respect. I cannot praise the staff enough. Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.037)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.037) out of 10 for Willersley House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.337 for Willersley House is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.337
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willersley House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
