Windsor Court Care Home, located in an attractive residential area of Goole in Yorkshire, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential, nursing and dementia care.

The friendly and comfortable home offers a place for residents to relax, unwind and socialise with friends and family, the lovely en-suite bedrooms, hair salon, café, pub are all on hand for residents to enjoy and the wellbeing programme helps residents to maintain their hobbies, learn new hobbies and to have opportunities to engage with the local community.

My dad was a resident in Windsor Court for three years before he passed away earlier this year and was always happy and well looked after. He frequently had kidney infections when in his last home, but had none during his time at Windsor Court.

When staff put a catheter leg bag on upside down and leave the drain tap open there is something wrong with the training. I was told it was a mistake.
The staff made derogatory remarks about me on their phone after forgetting to switch their phone off.

My dad moved into Windsor Court Care Home 6 weeks ago I was pleased with how modern light and colourful it was on first viewing. My dad’s room is a good size with an en suite sink and toilet. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and seem to do their best to make the residents feel comfortable
and at home. The manager's door is always open and is always happy to answer any questions I have needed to ask, as are all the staff. My dad settled in well he has a moan now and again but then we all do!

It is not an easy job doing the work the staff are involved in. It often needs constant care, attention and dedication. I recently attended the Queens Jubilee party held at the home, and all the staff did a great job providing a super afternoon. A special thank you goes out to all the staff who gave
up their own time, working what would have been their day off to help with this event. I think that the kitchen/catering team also need a special mention for the effort and creativity of the buffet they provided at tea time.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Windsor Court, they are and have been courteous and helpful, they are in contact if there are any issues with my wife or her condition and also updates on what is happening in the home.
My wife has been a resident for almost 18 months and has never found the
reason for complaint, my wife always seems to be happy and content which is a blessing for me to see.
I think possibly more could be done to the rooms to make them feel more homely.

After a difficult 2-3 years for Windsor Court, for all sorts of reasons (not just covid), things are improving. New management, some new staff who seem to fit in very well, some of the experienced staff are there to support them. The Wellbeing idea is starting to show good results. Things are happening.
Maybe still lots to do and it will take time, but a good all-round improvement.

Staff members are very kind and helpful at sorting problems out. Also, they are friendly when assisting me when I first came in and supporting me with memory, chatting and explaining how to make crafts in activity classes, which I enjoy very much. A hair salon is available too and soon a cinema is to
be opened.

My son took me out for the day and I said take me home, meaning the care home. I will say almost all the staff are more like friends. It would be impossible to like and be liked by everyone. At 95-years-old I am content at the moment to spend my last days here. We could do with more staff!

Mum has been in Windsor Court for 3 years and has been well looked after although there has been a few issues since the new manager has been there I feel that it has improved with communication foremost. Te staff who look after mum are very caring and a few are amazing with how they have been throughout
the lockdown.

My father has recently become a permanent resident at Windsor Court having firstly gone in for a rest bite. Windsor Court have collaborated quickly and effectively with outside agencies to meet my father’s needs, enabling a smooth transition into the home for him. All the staff have been very approachable
and friendly and in these difficult times of Covid have been caring and professional. I would highly recommend Windsor Court.

Having taken the decision as a family to take my wife into the safety of Windsor Court we cannot speak highly enough of the staff. All the carers, cleaners and maintenance worker of Windsor Court and also the support they have shown to my family. We rest soundly knowing our loved one is in great caring

My mum was a resident. We put in a complaint after finding my mother left in bed until lunchtime she had not been washed with no food or drink and her catheter full to bursting on the floor. We told staff after this day she had no drink or a beaker. Her bathroom stunk of urine and some days the corridors
also stunk of urine. She was left in bed most days so we had no alternative to remove her and take her to a better place.

My Mum is in Windsor Court, Goole.
We have found all the staff to be very good with Mum. The manager is very hands on.
Nothing is too much bother.
All staff follow an excellent lead.
The room is good, food good. Always willing to please.
Very clean and tidy.
Would recommend Windsor Court to anyone
and I have done so.

As a Heath Care Professional, Julie has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One since September 2021, Julie closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Julie remarked:


“Seeing motivated staff and well cared for Residents.”


Julie believes her biggest achievement is living day to day as she believes she faces different challenges of life every day.


Outside of work, Julie enjoys going away on family breaks at the weekends to unwind.
