Review from Gillian A (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 January 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum resided on Sandringham Wing for two years and due to her mobility issues, needed support with her personal care needs. Mum felt that the staff treated her with patience and respect and she valued the care, kindness and attention they provided to her.

When visiting I always found the staff to be welcoming, approachable, friendly and helpful with a few of the staff taking the time to make me a cuppa, which when you know the demands and how many people they are caring for was appreciated

The home is clean and the communal areas have been refreshed and chairs replaced. An observation is that the en-suite although adequate could have done with updating.

When mum died I went to clear her room and collect her belongings, the staff on Sandringham supported me in this difficult task and also helped me take her possessions to the car which made a sad occasion easier.

A massive thank you to all staff involved in mums care. You know individually what you did for her.

Review from M M (Sister of Resident) published on 26 October 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My sister has been a resident for 3 months.
Carers are helpful and kind. Food Ok but menu could do with changing more frequently - monotonous after a while. Overall satisfactory. My sister is physically frail but mentally bright.

Most occupants of one residential wing seem to be confused - therefore no one to have a chat to.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Windsor Court Care Home

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are very sorry that you feel the menu choices are monotonous. We have a hospitality team who devise seasonal new menus on a four weekly rolling basis. Daily choices are offered at the point...

This care home gives value for money, they do everything they can to help the residents or those on respite feel secure and safe. Some of the carers go that extra mile to help all those in their care. Nothing is too much, they do all they can to help.

Visited a friend around 2pm 14th Nov and the whole home stunk of urine. This is not acceptable, is not dignified for residents. Also, a wheelchair my friend used to walk with had no working brakes and was dirty. I did report this to a member of staff (about the brakes) and she made no response.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Windsor Court Care Home

Firstly can I thank you for taking the time to complete a care home review card. I am extremely sorry that you visited your friend and experienced an unpleasant odour in the care home. We work extremely hard to keep the building clean and odour free for our residents to live in and feel like home....

Although my mum was well looked after, always clean and tidy, hair done, I think more staff would be better, especially, at weekends when staff seem to be minimal. I would like to say that all the staff were very nice and helpful.

Reply from Katie Price, Careline Advisor at Windsor Court Care Home
Thank you for your kind comments regarding the staff at Windsor Court.

We would like to assure you that our staffing levels are the same at the weekends and we are constantly reviewing staffing against the dependency of our residents in the home, to ensure we provide a high level of care in the home.

My mother has lived at Windsor Court in Goole for 2 1/2 years and although her dementia is increasing the staff remain patient, kind and caring in every degree.

I would recommend Windsor Court to others who have relatives who find they can no longer live at home.
