Windsor Court Care Home, located in an attractive residential area of Goole in Yorkshire, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential, nursing and dementia care.

The friendly and comfortable home offers a place for residents to relax, unwind and socialise with friends and family, the lovely en-suite bedrooms, hair salon, café, pub are all on hand for residents to enjoy and the wellbeing programme helps residents to maintain their hobbies, learn new hobbies and to have opportunities to engage with the local community.

I moved from another care home - Windsor Court is much better, I do a little gardening, play bingo, I get lots of visitors. All the staff are lovely and kind. Plenty of people to talk to.

When our dad went into Windsor Court we were satisfied that he was getting the care he needed.
After a few days, when my brother visited him, he found dad had been moved upstairs and he had been there a few hours with no buzzer to call for help.
It was like a different place upstairs, it seemed
like he had been left there and forgotten about.
But after being in hospital a few days, he went back for end of life care and was put downstairs, the staff couldn't do enough for him.
Unfortunately, he died that night but his last few hours were good and we will always be grateful to the staff for all they did.

The staff are very caring and my mother seems to like them which is the main thing. I would like to see a better way of staff communicating or having information to hand. As an example; if I ask a question I don't want to be told "I've just come on duty" but would like to be told "I've just come on
duty, but I will check for you!"


My mother will have been at Windsor Court for a year and has not had one arranged outing other than the supermarket. There is not enough stimulation but I can see this is due to staffing restrictions. The communal lounges smell of urine which is impregnated in the carpet and chairs, Sandringham looks to have had no update or care to attention for a long time.

Thank you for taking the time to send a review and voicing your concerns. Please be assured that you can speak to any of our senior staff during your visit to the home. The home manager also has an open door policy for any visitors who have concerns and is always available. Activities are held Monday to Friday and Monthly on a Saturday for chair Zumba. Outings are held regularly pending of course on the weather. We have regular evening activities that are really popular that relatives and residents are invited to join in. Each resident is given the choice to go out but if they decline they cannot be forced. All our residents were asked yesterday to go out for a fish and chip lunch but some residents declined, a coffee morning is held every Friday and your mum has joined in with the other ladies and also enjoys afternoon tea in the new café area that has been developed on the unit.
We are working hard to develop a relaxing comfortable light area for our residents to live in. We have just completed a refurbishment of the lounge and new furniture which the ladies enjoy sitting and relaxing in.

Staff seem very caring but sometimes communication is lacking with relatives. Overall satisfied with the care for my mum who seems very happy.

This is a very good care home with pleasant staff, a clean, attractive environment and excellent food. The management are engaged and responsive to suggestions and questions. My mum is well cared for here and I can feel happy to know she is safe. He condition has improved since she arrived here 6 months
ago - she has put on weight and seems much happier and more relaxed.

As a Heath Care Professional, Julie has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One since September 2021, Julie closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Julie remarked:


“Seeing motivated staff and well cared for Residents.”


Julie believes her biggest achievement is living day to day as she believes she faces different challenges of life every day.


Outside of work, Julie enjoys going away on family breaks at the weekends to unwind.
