The cleanliness is exceptional all around the home and always smells fresh and clean .
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Helpful" and "Supportive" being used to describe our staff and we are pleased to hear that you are impressed with the clean environment at Edmund House Care Home. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
Mum moved to Edmund House just before Christmas, and has settled in very quickly. The staff are lovely and have been very responsive to any requests or concerns we've had. Mum loves all the activities (especially the drumming!) and is the busiest and happiest we've seen her since Dad passed away. It's a huge weight off mine and my sister's minds knowing that she's safe and happy, especially as neither of us are local so can't pop in as often as we'd like.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Feedback like yours inspires us to continue to provide the very best care. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
All staff are excellent with my dad. Caring, friendly and keep him entertained. 10/10.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. It's reassuring to hear that our approach to care has brought you and your family peace of mind. We're looking forward to creating many more happy memories with you and your family.
The staff regularly check on him and have good "banter" with him. He is always comfortable in Edmund House, so I am able to relax and enjoy my respite days.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. Hearing that our care has made a difference to you and your family is truly rewarding. Our team will be so pleased to hear your kind words- they truly care about making every resident feel special. We look forward to welcoming you back to Edmund House soon.
I'm pleased with mum's care, she is always clean and tidy. Staff are very good with mum and me; we are kept informed. I've not been involved with management.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We are delighted to hear that our team have made a difference to your family's experience. It's lovely to know that you found the surroundings here pleasant and well maintained- we want our residents to feel at home from the moment they arrive. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
There is a wide range of activities throughout the day, led by cheerful, caring staff. All special days are celebrated with all members of staff joining in to make a pleasant experience.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is fantastic to hear you find the team to be attentive and caring- they'll be thrilled to read your review. Thank you for recognizing the effort our activities team put into creating meaningful moments with residents. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
Mum is sociable and loves joining in the activities.
The meals are varied and nutritional. A good selection of drinks are available throughout the day.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It's great to hear that the dining experience has been a highlight for you at Edmund House. We know how important good food is to feeling at home. We're pleased to hear that you've enjoyed our activities program- our team works hard to make sure...
My mother has been a resident for over 4 months now, as her condition is progressing (dementia) I feel the care she is receiving is far beyond anything I could provide. It is outstanding, recently having contracted covid, 1/2 hourly checks were carried out and she was monitored constantly. The unit is spotlessly clear and staff are on hand for any questions. Their behaviour in treating residents with dignity and compassion is obvious. It puts my mind at rest about her safety.
Your feedback means a lot to us and the team at Edmund House Care Home. Providing kind and attentive care is in the heart of everything we do, so it's lovely to hear your comments. Your kind words are a testament to the dedication of everyone in the home. We're committed to continuing to support you and your family in every way we can
I didn't want to come into a care home. I was depressed and anxious. But after only a day, this changed. The staff were so kind and thoughtful. I was happy to be here. When the time comes, I will be back.
It's always encouraging to read reviews like this. The transition into a care home can be difficult- but we are pleased to hear that our team could help you at this time. It is always nice to hear words like "Kind" and "Thoughtful" being used to describe our care. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
All in all my dad has a good time in this care home, and any concerns or difficulties which arise are often dealt with efficiently. The staff are good but as said in previous meetings, I wish the staff were able to spend a bit more quality time with each resident, not just my dad. Being short staffed and busy are always the response, and still waiting to hear about my dad's P.A. It's been agreed he can have one, but no more has been said on the matter. An update would be appreciated. Thanks.
Thank you for your feedback. We are always striving to improve our service so I will pass your request on to the management team for a response as soon as possible.
Would recommend Edmund House as staff and management are superb, and cannot do enough for all residents and their families. My father is very happy here.
Thank you for your recommendation. It is great to hear that your Father is happy in our care.
Friendly efficient staff. Lots to do for residents. Always clean and tidy. Good meals. Lovely lounge. Tidy gardens. Nothing too much trouble always happy to help. Refreshments available all the time for visitors
Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind words. We are proud to have such a compassionate team and we're glad this has shone though in your experience. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
The welcome was very good, making us feel at home from the word go. The ongoing friendliness was beyond anything I had imagined. Thank you so much.

I visit my friend weekly, and I always find I'm greeted with warmth and friendliness. Great customer service. The home has a lovely feel to the place, with lots of laughter and care given to the residents. The activities which my friend takes part in are fun and engaging. I've sometimes asked a member of staff for help (i.e. a blanket if we go out to more drinks, etc) and nothing is too much trouble. I visit a number of other care homes in the area, and I can honestly say I would recommend Edmond House without hesitation.
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. We are proud to have such a compassionate team and we're glad this has shone though in your experience and knowing that you feel reassured about your Friends care is the best feedback we can receive. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
It is a joy to visit my great-aunt at Edmund House, she is sadly no longer the person she used to be but the activities co-ordinator is really good at getting her to remember things. The home is clean and hygienic, the staff are so caring and patient. The food looks good too!
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Thank you for recognizing the effort our activities team put into creating meaningful moments with residents. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.
Top class standards, professional in every way, while maintaining a lovely friendly atmosphere. My friends experience in this home has been nothing short of outstanding. Housekeeping staff are always busy keeping the home at an impeccable level of cleanness.

Meet the Team (9)

Since starting my career with the Social Services as a Care Manager from 2002 to 2017, my dream was to make a difference to peoples lives in their last years, months, weeks and days of their life.
My dream came true in 2017 when I became the Home Manager of Edmund House. I can now make that difference and fulfil that dream.

I have spent the last thirty years' working in social care in several different settings and teams. I really enjoy supporting our residents and staff in maintaining and developing their independence and skills and strongly feel that my position at Edmund House provides me with the opportunity to do this.
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience that I use and my role at Edmund House is extremely rewarding and I continue to develop my skills and knowledge daily.
I have lived in Scunthorpe all my life and live within a few minutes’ drive of Edmund House. I have two children and in my spare time I enjoy tinkering with my car, long walks in the countryside and carp fishing.

I began my career in the hair and beauty industry, where I developed strong client-facing and communication skills. I later moved into the health and social care sector, supporting individuals with learning disabilities in both psychological and domiciliary settings. Since 2012, I have worked mainly within the elderly care sector, focusing on administration and finance. I feel my communication skills and understanding of finance allow me to support both colleagues and residents effectively.
I enjoy working in a care environment where residents come first and where we strive to create a homely, safe setting. I live locally and value spending my free time helping my family and enjoying time with my granddaughters.

I am a Unit Manager at Edmund House and have been a part of the Bupa family since 2016. I began my career in the care sector as a carer and progressed into roles as Senior Carer and Team Leader before becoming Unit Manager in May 2022.
As Unit Manager, I lead with empathy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to person-centred care. What I enjoy most about working in care services is making a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day, and I continue to develop my skills and knowledge to better support those entrusted to our care.
I live locally in Scunthorpe and, outside of work, I enjoy reading and interior decorating. I am also a proud mother to my daughter, which further shapes my sense of responsibility and understanding, both personally and professionally.

I have worked for Bupa since 2018 and progressed to Unit Manager in November 2019. I have worked in care since I was 15 and have extensive experience in mental health and dementia care. I’ve previously worked in care homes across Scunthorpe and surrounding areas, within the NHS as a healthcare assistant, and in the community supporting people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
I love working in care because it allows me to support people with dignity, respect and choice at the most important time of their lives.
I’m a mum of three children aged 24, 22 and 5, and also have a 3-year-old grandson, so life is busy. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my youngest child, and in the evenings I like to relax with a good book.

I previously worked at a local hospice as a care assistant, progressing to advanced care assistant and later to complementary therapist. During this time, I trained as a qualified Reiki practitioner and reflexologist, and also gained training in mindfulness, wellbeing, hand and foot massage, meditation and relaxation.
Looking after people is a privilege. It’s not just about supporting the individual, but also being there for their family and friends during difficult times. I love working in care services because of the people — both my colleagues and those we care for.
I’m married and have a daughter and a son, four grandsons and two granddaughters. Although my dad passed away 10 years ago, my mum is still a huge part of my life, which I feel very grateful for.
My hobbies include NFL American football, and my husband and I attend London games when our teams are playing in the UK. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and going on holiday — Greece is my favourite destination.

I have worked in the catering sector since the age of 19, starting as a prep chef and progressing to Head Chef. Before working in catering, I was a domiciliary carer, which I really enjoyed. Both roles give me a sense of fulfilment and allow me to make a positive difference.
My favourite part of working in care is making residents happy, speaking with them about food, and adapting meals to meet their individual needs.
I’m a mum of two and a wife. Food is my passion, and bringing happiness and enjoyment through food is my goal.

I have been working for Bupa for just over 4 years. Before working here, I was a full time stay at home mum as I took a few years break from my career until my children were older.
I enjoy working in the care home sector as every day is different. I love meeting new people as you get an insight into everyone’s life. The most rewarding aspect is having an impact on people’s lives with small acts of kindness & building meaningful relationships with residents as well as families.
I was born in London and moved to Scunthorpe in 2003. I completed my Level 2 in childcare, to then go on to help running my dad’s business. I am an extremely family orientated person. My 3 children, parents & siblings are a big part of my life. I believe in making each day count, building memories as we go along! I pride myself in setting a good example for my children. I regularly go on walks to help keep fit which also helps keep a clear mind and I often visit different cities/towns to eat out. My biggest passion is to travel and see the world, I love experiencing different cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds. Every year I try to go on holiday abroad with the family. My husband is my biggest supporter who always encourages me to go further and achieve more!

I have worked in regional maintenance for the past four years, covering Yorkshire and Humberside. After leaving school, I completed an apprenticeship as a joiner, working for a small business carrying out repairs to housing association rental properties across Leeds and Wakefield. Around 20 years ago, I joined Bupa in Leeds as a maintenance operative.
I take great pride in keeping Edmund House in the best condition possible, and this is the part of my role I enjoy most.
Outside of work, I’m a keen motorcycle rider and enjoy modifying cars.
