Springvale Court is located in the Wrekenton area of Gateshead, on the site of the former Miners' Welfare Club, close to local shops and public transport links. It is a purpose built care home providing personalised residential and expert dementia care.

Sensitive care is delivered to those living with dementia in specialised Memory Lane Communities; designs within the home help people experiencing dementia to make sense of their surroundings through features such as sensory gardens, memory-prompting curios and rummage drawers - designed to engage people's attention and interest.

Residents have access to many on-site facilities including a hair and beauty salon and residents' garden, and those who live at the home are encouraged to partake in the many daily activities that are offered throughout the home and beyond. Typical activities including baking, craft sessions, music therapy and day trips.

The menu is varied and seasonally tailored. Food is freshly prepared by an excellent team of chefs, ensuring that residents' nutritional needs are met and that they enjoy a variety of dishes.

Lovely. Home staff are lovely very helpful. Management lovely as well room's very pleasant very clean looked after Dad as soon as he came in cup of tea straight away, they took him to the club and he joined in with the activities.

My husband has been in for 1 month. They have lowered the age to 60 years for him. He has settled well and I also feel at home when I go to visit. Always made very welcome. The staff are all local people and always smile, speak and remember our names and are always very helpful, understanding, kind

Can't recommend the care home enough. The staff go above and beyond their duties, they're hardworking, kind, thoughtful and caring.
It is a nice feeling knowing my mother's in capable, caring hands. I'm confident she's getting the best care possible for her condition.

I have only been in since May. The regular staff are lovely but agency are not so good. Day shift is better than night shift. The entertainment is good when we have it (or activities) but needs to be more regular. My room is cleaned every day and is spotless. The lounge is my least favourite place,
it is too small. This is a lovely place though, I feel safe.

So far my experience with Springvale Court Care Home has been excellent. The staff are all lovely. My dad has settled in very well here. I feel he is getting the care he needs. I know he is safe and there is no way he can get out. He is getting well fed and the food always looks really good and I know
he enjoys what he gets as he usually has seconds! Overall I am happy with Dad's care.

My 92-year-old Mam has just been in Springvale for 2 weeks of respite care. We can't thank all the care staff and the home administrator for giving us the opportunity for a break. All the care staff made Mam very welcome and settled her into her short-term home so that we didn't have any worries about
going on holiday.
Her care was excellent. Springvale is so clean with great facilities and activities we can't fault the care at all. Mam especially enjoyed the activities that the Activities Coordinator had arranged and even came out with sparkly nails which she loved!
We really appreciated all that everybody did for Mam!

My mother has been a resident in Springvale Court for the last six years. In this time, she has always been treated with respect and dignity. Over recent months, her health has deteriorated, but her care has been excellent. All the staff, from the care manager to the cleaning staff, are so respectful.
Couldn't wish for a better place for my mother to end her life.

We liked this home for my aunt with dementia for several reasons. Firstly, it was very clean. Secondly, it was a nice size, not too big, and felt homely. Thirdly, they have a separate unit upstairs, so when her Alzheimer's progress, at least she will only have to go upstairs and well recognise the staff.
It has been a difficult time with Covid, but Barchester has sent regular emails to keep families involved.

The staff are caring towards my mam and supportive with family issues if any. Mam recently broke her hip and required hospital admission and operation then recovery, the staff were amazing and very attentive. I don't know anything about the food and drinks but the juices/tea and coffee trolley is always
about. I have not seen the activities in a while but I don't think mam would attend.
