Springvale Court is located in the Wrekenton area of Gateshead, on the site of the former Miners' Welfare Club, close to local shops and public transport links. It is a purpose built care home providing personalised residential and expert dementia care.

Sensitive care is delivered to those living with dementia in specialised Memory Lane Communities; designs within the home help people experiencing dementia to make sense of their surroundings through features such as sensory gardens, memory-prompting curios and rummage drawers - designed to engage people's attention and interest.

Residents have access to many on-site facilities including a hair and beauty salon and residents' garden, and those who live at the home are encouraged to partake in the many daily activities that are offered throughout the home and beyond. Typical activities including baking, craft sessions, music therapy and day trips.

The menu is varied and seasonally tailored. Food is freshly prepared by an excellent team of chefs, ensuring that residents' nutritional needs are met and that they enjoy a variety of dishes.

Mam came in 5 days before lockdown in March. I felt guilty and worried about her. The staff reassured me and put up with me keep phoning. Mam is doing great, she is well looked after, safe and even better now we can have regular visits.

My Mother-in-Law is happy and healthy and more importantly, content. All the staff I have come into contact with have been pleasant and efficient. My Mother-in-Law obviously likes the staff and trusts them. At 92 she looks healthier and content since taking up residence. I personally feel she is safe
and well looked after. I am kept up to date on her welfare.

Visiting the new suite for visits under the Covid 19 rules. Staff explained before we entered the room. Mam was waiting and staff left us to talk which was great but only through the glass with a speaker. This was a wonderful visit after not seeing her for so long, only contact has been phone calls
to Mam. I can only say well done to everyone for their care and attention to everyone. Looking forward to our next visit.

The care my mother-in-law receives from here is second to none, staff do an amazing job, especially under the trying times of Covid. They have kept families updated throughout and are always happy for you to ring and talk to your loved ones, the garden visits are a success with great social distance

I would highly recommend Springvale Court to anyone looking for their loved ones to be cared for. The management and staff have not only cared for and respected our father but also have been amazing towards us as a family. Nothing is a bother. Early days as yet. Mam has only been a resident in this care home for five weeks. Food is significantly better than in her previous home. Care levels seem OK to date. Staff are friendly and helpful. The residents don't seem to get adequate showers as I think that it should be once a week minimum (although
I believe that they are regularly washed all over with a flannel).

Myself, partner and family were very happy knowing our Father was going to be a resident at Springvale Court Care Home. We were extremely happy with the care and support he received whilst staying at this home. We could see how happy and content he was on every visit. Dad was enjoying all the delicious
meals that were on offer at every meal time and staff informed us he was eating very well. The home and interior surroundings were always clean and tidy. Staff and management were always friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem, always happy to help.
