Ashton Grange care home, located on the outskirts of Sunderland, provides bespoke and person-centred residential and residential dementia care.

My review went very well, everything has not changed. Doing some help in the home by doing meals and giving them to residents. I also clean floor and kitchen and tidy lounge and empty the things like kitchen attire and place mats and set it back ready for the evening meal. We have just had home refurbishment
and decorated. It is beautiful everywhere, spotless and clean.

Absolutely delighted with the care and attention of the staff towards residents and visitors alike. The home is clean and well maintained. My relative was very happy at Ashton Grange Care Home. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My brother has special needs and is sometimes hard work, but the staff supported and befriended him. I have found the home to very welcoming and my husband has been very settled since he came. The staff are very friendly and helpful and will answer any queries I may have. The food is good with a variety of choices. The security is excellent, the stairs are gated and the doors locked so the residents
are safe and cannot go out attended.
I feel satisfied that my husband is being well cared for.

We have visited many times and on each occasion, we have been made to feel welcome, comfortable and served refreshments. We believe our aunty was treated with the greatest of respect and care and her life was enhanced accordingly. We have the greatest of respect for the staff who showed us compassion

I have been living at Ashton Grange for a year after being so independent I found this difficult at first, but the staff have been fantastic. They gave me a sense of belonging and have been and still am extremely happy. I want for nothing they are just perfect. The food is good and I still enjoy days

I visited my mums friend at Christmas the home was refreshing as I walked through the door, the staff are so friendly and pleasant. I was offered refreshments and staff were very helpful, a joy to visit my friend and also lovely to see her so happy.

What does kindness mean to you?


“For me, kind care means ensuring that every resident is treated as an individual and striving to provide the best possible outcomes for an excellent quality of life.”


Lesley has gained many years’ experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at Ashton Grange for a number of years, Lesley closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby organisations and is always quick to welcome the local community to Ashton Grange.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Lesley remarked: “I get a huge sense of satisfaction from giving residents the best quality of life possible and seeing them smile every day.”


Outside of work, Lesley enjoys travelling abroad, playing bingo and socialising with friends and family.
